  1. Debating whether a hypothetical player would start at IU with a hypothetical coach
  2. Not directed at you, but that theory is the most ridiculous of all. People act like Stevens is a middle school girl. The guy is as professional as you can get. So is Tracey. If he was interested in the job, he and Dolson would have discussed it long ago. They would have had a framework for a deal. Minor terms back and forth. No multiple offers trying to get a response. Not walking away from an agreement. Just not how the guy operates. There is no agreement. I do believe Dolson has probably had discussions with him to get his input on the search.
  3. None of those teams hired an active CBB coach. So that's a good indication that IU will hire someone who's still coaching. It's a great opportunity to continue to study the candidates.
  4. Only because of the timing. If Woodson was let go the day of IU's final loss, then that would officially start the clock. Archie was hired on March 25th. Mike Woodson was hired March 28th. It's still early. The other openings, so far, weren't targeting coaches that IU would have hired. VA and NC ST may be competition, but no KY, no LVille, no MI this round.
  5. Yes. Same as 2017 & 2021. Will be Stevens in 2029 & 2033
  6. They are last in D1 with 62.1 possessions per game. Purdue & UConn both average about 68 per game, as you said. ILL & KY average 74, MI 73.3. IU 71,1 https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/stat/possessions-per-game
  7. That's why message board insiders don't exist. A true insider with actual knowledge won't share anything. Someone who's roommate is an Uber driver who gave someone a ride isn't an insider. They're a tipster
  8. OK. Mark the date and time that this thread officially jumped the shark.
  9. At least a third of the games we'll lead at the half and then they'll just grind us down in the 2nd.
  10. He doesn't even practice transition offense because he believes that better teams and tournament teams don't allow transition baskets. It's out there in podcasts.
  11. Oh, he’s definitely defense first. He’s on record that part of the offensive pace is to protect the defense.
  12. His D2 teams were always among the slowest pace teams in D2 for the full season. He doesn't believe in fast breaks. They are just highly efficient in scoring.
  13. By whom? The media guys haven't talked about Stevens since 2/14. Are you talking about pranksters on BTB?
  14. Defense first. Teams play hard and smart. Offense can be a challenge. History of building programs and winning immediately. Built TX Tech with transfers (juco, etc), before there was a transfer portal.
  15. That was obvious, wasn't it.
  16. BetOnline IU coaching odds 3/19/21, 9 days before Woodson was announced as coach. Nobody knows anything of substance. The Complete Odds: Chris Beard: 2/1 Scott Drew: 3/1 John Beilein: 4/1 Dana Altman: 11/2 Thad Matta: 13/2 Dane Fife: 7/1 Brad Stevens: 25/1 Calbert Cheaney: 25/1 Billy Donovan: 33/1
  17. We've hired Jonas Hayes
  18. Don't think of it as adding candidates to the list. The process was to identify data that points to program success and winning. From that, a rather large list of candidates is generated. Then they narrow the list. The smart way to do that is a blind pool, where you don't automatically rule out anyone. Then if the data analysis produces three very similar candidates, but one has character questions, then you eliminate them.
