I think it just seems that way because there are a disproportionate number of posts saying Stevens is in play. What do you think would happen if you said Turgeon was in play.
-
C’mon man. You’re better than that.
-
Are you also assuming we’ve offered Dan Hurley until he issues a public denial?
-
Been saying that for weeks.
-
No need for him to say no publicly to an offer that never happened. Stevens and Dolson both knew he isn’t leaving Boston
-
He’s already said no

Say what? “Brad Stevens over last 380 days: 7 contract extensions $1 billion in money Add Al Horford in 2022, and every player in Boston’s top 8 has received an extension. Add Marcus Smart, Rob Williams, and Josh Richardson, and Brad since taking over as GM: 11 extensions, $1.2 billion” 3:06 PM · Jul 22, 2024

Heard any mention of a Clark Sturgeon?
-
No, IU fans and possibly media imagined that. Bridge references were all about bridges to the past. This was Dolson at intro press conference: "Coach Woodson and I had an incredible first meeting, and we talked about the vision for the program and how to bridge the past to the future." This was Woodson at intro press conference: "I’m going to bring all the old-timers back like the old days, and we're going to bridge the gap between old and new."

Now you know why Dusty isn’t moving to Bloomington, where his Mom lives. Smoke detectors, mowing the grass, programming her TV, cleaning the gutters, shoveling the driveway…

It’s a very good time to be a Hoosier fan

Thanks for stating the obvious that has nothing to do with my post

The latest on the Celtics sale: The only known bidder at this point is current Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca, who has expressed his intention to acquire the team he has co-owned with Wyc Grousbeck for over twenty years.
-
Yeah, that was a really weird take

This was all about the “family vote” that someone imagined and has been retold repeatedly like folklore
-
You were there for the family vote? You should have asked if your vote counts.... All you need to know about them: "Danny Ainge went to Brad Stevens and he said, 'Hey, you know, I want you to coach the Celtics. I've always been a big fan of yours,'" Holley told host Chris Forsberg. "Brad talks to Tracy and says, 'Oh man, this is great. Wow, the Boston Celtics! This is great, but no.' He turned him down. He turned it down initially." . "So (Tracy) went to Brad and -- this is like poetry. She said, 'You'll never be as good as you can unless you're uncomfortable.' Like, hey -- 'We love Butler, Butler's been great to us. We got a lifetime contract here, but you know what? You got to push yourself. Go to the NBA. Do it.' And that's what made him change his mind."
-
No one believes that he wanted to come but the family said no. That’s a fairy tale. I don’t doubt that the family didn’t want to move. That’s the only part that’s accurate. Tracy has been very openly supportive of him taking new challenges. If he really wanted it, she would have supported him.

That's why their new arena seats 7,000 versus the 10,000+ in the old arena. "The Foster Pavilion — named for Paul (BBA ’79) and Alejandra Foster, whose $100 million gift in 2019 helped launch the project — will offer a more intimate environment for basketball than the Ferrell Center. Just as McLane Stadium’s downsizing compared to Floyd Casey Stadium has helped give Baylor football a better home-field advantage, the Foster Pavilion’s size — 7,000 seats — and design will help ensure the new facility is packed with Baylor fans night in and night out."

Right. Brad hasn’t signed anything. There’s nothing to sign.

No top program would look at Brownell. He’d never be connected to the IU job if he wasn’t from Indiana.
-
This was from a 2/17 Indy Star article saying Dolson’s using the same approach as the football search, including hiring the same search firm to identify candidates, based on his team’s criteria. “The athletic department also hired prominent search firm TurnkeyZRG to assist them. Dolson has gone on record describing them as “invaluable” to the process in the past. At that Rotary Club meeting, he said the firm worked off criteria he provided them, criteria which came directly from that study, to identify candidates.”

Bielfeldt basically confirmed this: Beilein is known by his players for planning out every minor detail in the team’s practice and workout schedule a month in advance, so when Bielfeldt gets a text from Crean saying the team has the day off just a few hours before practice, the difference between the two can be glaring. “It’s very bizarre and different to compare the two coaching styles,” Bielfeldt said. “Coach Crean’s definitely a more passionate guy, while Beilein is more of a, I’ll use the word ‘Mastermind,’ sitting back and trying to see the big picture and weigh things out.” “Coach Beilein is more of a teacher,” Bielfeldt said. “He’ll want you to be able to sit in the film room for an hour and be able to describe every cut and name it something so everyone has their own language, whereas (Indiana coach Tom) Crean will kind of just throw you out on the floor and have you run stuff and kind of coach while he goes.”
-
No way he'd admit anything. It would immediately get to parents, players, other coaches, etc. Didn't happen.
-
Way too specific. Everyone would know who that is.
