  1. Where would we be this week if Thornton's three had rattled in instead of out?
  2. Any NBA coach will tell you that a split on a road trip is the goal. CMW is playing with house money.
  3. What I have found is that younger people only use email when they are required to by employers, schools, etc., and that is difficult to get them to do. They never use emails to communicate with each other. My employer has numerous employees under 25 and we went to WhatsApp for official communication because they never looked at their email accounts. I also worked for a college and the college found that email communication to students didn't get responses unless the students also allowed their parents to read their email accounts.
  4. I know that can't be accurate. I don't know anyone under the age of 25 who has ever sent an email. Texts perhaps?
  5. Right. That may be the most ridiculous rumor of all.
  6. This is exactly correct. No way you make a change during the season with that record. They need the "failed to make the tourney for the second straight season".
  7. Your correct Scott, my bad. They ran the play for Woodson, but he was double-teamed and passed to Carter for the winning shot.
  8. Maybe to some extent, but I was at IU for the latter part of Woodson's playing career. I remember him hitting the shot to beat Purdue for the NiT title. Still, I thought it was a terrible hire. I couldn't believe that his name was leaking in the press as a possible candidate for the job.
  9. Another great example is Isiah Thomas. Great college and NBA player. Terrible coach and GM.
  10. It's all very confusing. We've heard about "outside noise", but the "fire Woodson" chants were inside I believe. Difficult for "true fans" to follow.
  11. “Mackenzie’s deal is kind of unique because the crazy thing is Mackenzie’s mom reached out to coach Woodson with a text,” Hunter said on the Hoosier Hysterics podcast last week. “And so that’s initially how it got started. We didn’t know him, but just obviously (Mgbako) being from the New Jersey area, and Coach (Woodson) being a Knicks guy, and just the people around. So she actually reached out to coach first and inquired about us recruiting her son. So that’s initially how it kind of came about.” Woodson says he first saw Tucker three years ago at IMG. "I watched him work and said, this kid is really skilled. He can do a lot of things, but they told me he might go to elsewhere, so I walked away." Then last spring, Tucker's father called Woodson to see if he was still interested in his son. "I said absolutely. I'll be on a plane tomorrow to talk to you about him. We were able to get him to Indiana."
  12. He'll coach the rest of the season and if up to him, next season and the following season.
  13. Yes, MI will force Dusty's hand. He'll be approached with an extension and a much higher buyout before the season is over.
  14. And everyone who's ever been married knows that's actually 1-10
  15. He'd be great, but he's never leaving Baylor "Everything we do around the program is Christ-centered," he told CBN News. "The great thing is we can prepare champions for life. And that's a spiritual, academic, and character formation in athletics. So for us to be able to incorporate the spiritual part has been so key and paramount to all our success and He's blessed us." Drew told RFI that seeing players accept Christ is "more exciting" than winning any game. "Seeing the spiritual growth guys. Players who accept Christ, players who maybe prayed for the first time with the team, players who get baptized, players who come back and get Bible studies and go to church and you know that's what really exciting," he expressed. "Sometimes those victories are not written and talked about in the newspapers or TV, but again, those are the ones that really matter," he added. When asked about the importance of religious freedom in America, Drew said he is glad to be at a Christian university where he can openly share his faith. "Baylor University gives you that opportunity. Spiritually we're allowed to have an impact in our players' lives, so many of my coaching friends [that] are devout in their faith are at institutions where they can't," he explained. "I am a much better husband, father, spiritually I have grown from the staff that we have because we will do coach's bible studies together and we start every meeting in prayer." Drew adds that it is the culture of "joy, Jesus, others, and yourself" that will continue to propel the program forward. "We have also been a Christ-centered program and that is our foundation," he said. https://cbn.com/news/us/joy-jesus-others-yourself-baylor-university-mens-basketball-coach-opens-about-his-faith
  16. That would be interesting. I'd be surprised if he ever left Baylor. It's a perfect fit for him as a private Baptist university. Not sure IU would be a good cultural fit.
  17. He already has a mic in front of him for Pacers games. Don't subject the rest of the world to that.
  18. Career game for Bruce Thorton incoming. He'll abuse IU's guards.
  19. If something like that was true, and I'm highly skeptical, and if QB knew that would actually violate his fiduciary duty to the University as Board Chair.
  20. The best scenario is you tell CMW he can immediately announce his retirement, to be effective at the end of the season, or he'll be terminated and an interim will be named. Then you make it clear to the interim that they are coaching for their prospects elsewhere. They won't be a candidate for the IU job.
  21. Right and either they are or they aren't. It isn't like they haven't had years to consider the options. If Stevens really wants the IU job and his family wants to relocate back to IN and deal with coaching instead of his GM position, they already know.
  22. If Stevens really wants the job, he'll make it clear to Dolson, when contacted, and give him a number. It makes no sense to chase him and play games.
