Sorry, I was talking about Whittingham at UM and not Fitz. I put in an edit for clarification. It's early on a Monday in the Holiday season. Where is my caffeine?
-
My bad, I was talking about Whittingham. He is a LDS who hasn't gotten in trouble. Fitz at MSU? Maybe some time off gives him a new perspective, but I don't think he is going to put them in the top third of the league, but he could make them respectable

I believe that Carlie will be fine in the long run as an owner. She was put in her position rather abruptly after her father passed away, and she is trying to learn all that she can about the team. Personally, I believe that Ballard should have been let go a few years ago just because of the way they have handled the QB position since Luck abruptly retired. Steichen seems to be a good coach, but that defense really needs some work. A lot of the problems seems to be from a personnel problem for the last few years, and that falls on Ballard.

Getting him was more about stabilizing the program for the next 4 to 5 years than anything else. He will keep the players there, and he has a reputation for not getting in trouble which is what they need right now. It is all about recruiting though, and time will tell if any of them can get the players they need. Edit: I was talking about Whittingham at Michigan. Hopefully Fitz at MSU has figured out where he screwed up at NW after some time off.

Probably is a safe hire, but with the problems with the infractions and Moore not able to keep it in his pants, he can get them straightened out and make it look like they care about following the rules.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2025/12/26/kyle-whittingham-michigan-football-social-media/87921414007/ it looks like they are making it official. Michigan got lucky that he was available, and it didn't cost them a buyout either. He is from the Urban Meyer tree which is kinda funny.

Having Whittingham probably will keep the donors happy as they are getting a proven guy which sucks, but they got to keep that money rolling in.
-
Bringing in Whittingham probably improves the chances that Underwood will stay and most of the team which is probably their main goal.

He plays a physical style like Michigan does, and he was told that the "coach in waiting" was ready. He didn't say he was retiring when he stepped down, so he is a free agent with no buyout which is another + for UM. He's older, but he knows what he is doing.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47417485/sources-michigan-targeting-utah-coach-kyle-wittingham I was wondering if he was going to be looked at seeing he didn't say he was "retiring" but rather "stepping down." I heard a guy on the radio this morning who knows him said that he was kinda told to hit the door at Utah as they had a "coach in waiting" who was ready. They might have given Michigan a damn good coach. Figures.

(2024) - Valentyna Kadlecova to IU

I get why she would want to be closer to home, but if there was no animosity, why scrub IU from her Insta account? Good luck to her in her future endeavors. -
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47369719/inside-penn-state-college-football-coaching-search They got a lot of coaches paid during their search and only kept 2 of the recruits Franklin had. The Crumbl element is kinda funny.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47403146/star-edge-dylan-stewart-returning-south-carolina-26 Just how much is this guy going to get from the Gamecocks?

This is starting to get kinda ridiculous.
-
Sounds like a good Michigan hire then.

Thomas Bryant - Cleveland Cavaliers

A serviceable Center can make a decent living in the NBA. Good for him. -
I forgot about the university president not being around. Everything is there for them to be a beast, but they have just struggled for the last 20 outside of the last few years of Harbaugh's time which was so bad that he ran out of town for the Chargers. I bet they keep Biff for a year and see how he does which would dictate whether to keep him or start a search.

I don't blame someone for not wanting it right now because of the investigation in the AD office. You don't know if the AD will be changed out (I think he is gone) or if there are more NCAA problems coming. This happened at the wrong time for them which doesn't bother me a bit.

His mother had the letter to him in the Players Tribune I believe with a link on this board somewhere, but she talked about how they lived in Boston for a time. He is huge Brady fan and modeled his game after him when he was younger. If he was drafted by the Raiders and got to work with Brady, he will be in heaven. He just needs an OC and an offensive line to protect him from those defenses in that AFC West.

There is a reason why MJ didn't want Isiah on the Dream Team. They didn't like each other much after those Detroit and Chicago matchups in the late 80's.

IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates
jermhoosierfan replied to Lebowski's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
A guy would have to be nuts to not go to the next level with a fully guaranteed $50 mill in your pocket over 4 years with a 5th year option. With his finance degree in hand, he should be able to turn that into quite a bit more also. He can really add more to the foundation for MS research by going sooner also. It's a no brainer to go.
