  1. Trilly season came a lot earlier than I expected...
  2. I like Ant, but he’s been smuggly pro-Woody. I wonder when he will give up on that.
  3. His 2023 buyout was $17.5M. Probably still in that range. Doesn’t get much higher than that in CBB. Not too realistic for us.
  4. Yea. He limped in through a BTT run and the play-in and we got wrecked by St. Mary’s. Then we had a decent season with a veteran TJD and great freshman JHS… and we won one tourney game and got blown out by Miami. Our tourney appearances have not been exciting.
  5. Yes, they have limits. They're dumb, but not infinitely dumb.
  6. Even they have limits and the crappiness of his coaching has exceeded those limits.
  7. Yea. If so I’m surprised news isn’t out yet. I’m leaning injury. Whatever it is, I don’t want it to be a possible excuse for the season being bad.
  8. Cook and Simon are our two billionaire mega donors. We can’t afford to lose either of them, especially Cook. I don’t see anyone who could step in, Cuban has never showed interest in being a big donor. I don’t think they will stop donating fwiw, especially Cook, they run the Hoosiers Connect collective.
  9. Hire a new coach that's good and NIL makes sense again.
  10. Anyone who gives to bball NIL must be clinically insane.
  11. Terrible excuse. He's been making this excuse forever, and in reality it's just the nature of college basketball. Thankfully Louisville made him look dumb.
  12. Yea. With the portal we need someone in place asap so they have a shot to save who they want on the current roster and get some xfers in.
  13. I don't know how it will go. If he actually misses the tourney with a $6M team he won't have any sort of case. And good luck going against Scott, his fanbase approval is very high. IMO, as long as Woody gets his money and some sort of made up resignation story to make it sound like not a firing, he'll stay fairly quiet, this whole thing has mostly been about status and money for Woody. But, maybe I am wrong and he goes out ugly. We'll see. Enjoy firing him Scott! Payback.
  14. I think she inherited this mess. It’s tricky with the Board being her boss and she has been under pressure a bit the past few years. Hopefully when Quinn is gone she plays her part in making sure the chain of command is reestablished and people aren’t meddling with Scott’s job.
  15. Agree, that’s the way to do it. Personally, I want the AD left alone and responsible to pick the bball coach. The bball coach also needs to be left alone to pick his staff. This creates clear accountability in the organization, which is important.
  16. When Mike was hired: "I’ve been chosen to be the coach here and I’m going to try to tie it all together to make it all work, and we all will be one big family and win basketball games." That sure didn't happen.
  17. It’s nice to see them quickly fall out of being elite with Lurch gone. With their poor recruiting, they should keep getting worse. Next few years probably a borderline top-20/25 team, which is great given Painter is a very good coach. He just hates NIL and the portal, which isn’t a good approach.
  18. 8-3, but $6M roster and #48 on KenPom and #63 in the NET. It's hard to start much worse than this.
  19. IU will have to pay out Big Foot's buyout, but it's sure looking like these results are unacceptable to almost all the "stakeholders." The one that may be holding out is gone next year. I'm sure Scott is working on a short list of replacements. Also a midseason firing won't happen. The rest of the staff is pretty bad, it wouldn't help much anyway.
  20. Tyme has been further exposed as a total moron.
  21. I'm pretty sure he is about the status and money first and foremost. His effort clearly indicates IUBB comes in a distant third behind those two.
  22. The stakeholders are wise and not kneejerk like the dirty fans. They will observe, evaluate, and contemplate the season as it plays out. Then they will consider all factors and make a strategic and pragmatic decision at the end of the season. This is how it is done at IU. In fact, this is how other schools do it. The unwashed fans just cannot understand the wisdom of the stakeholders -- Quinn really knows basketball!
  23. Archie is bad, but there is no way Woody could do at Dayton what Archie did. Woody could be the worst coach in D1 this year. Top-5 NIL and he's on the bubble... I can't think of anyone else with such a mismatch of resources to results.
  24. I'd love an update on the status of the "stakeholders." If there is not a groundswell, is there at least a "swell" against Mike? I bet there is and was before this. I'd also bet Scott is contemplating moving Mike out and he is planning to do that in three months.
  25. Is Mike Woodson the worst coach in D1 bball? Who is worse?
