  1. This week’s presser with updates from Cig: Interesting Cig sat Hoover to get a look at how good our backups QBs are with the first team.
  2. Thanks. Just guessing, but I tend to think Ryan's evals would have to include a valuation of the player? Otherwise the eval would be not so helpful. And of course CDD and assistants still have some involvement on evals. Then CDD and assistants have to sell the player on IU and get them for something close to the valuation. I kinda worry about how good of a salesman CDD is (I'm not sold! -- haha j/k... kinda), but we'll see.
  3. I’m getting tired of lettice.
  4. Is there anyone he isn’t hearing from?
  5. Yeesh. Yea. Cody Campbell is really Phil Knight 2.0 with TTU.
  6. It is. Scott is doing a great job getting a pretty decent chunk of change to bball despite a terrible last decade. Big question is if our staff can convert it into a good team for once.
  7. On3 is often wrong. Cig said in an article our roster cost low 20’s and I know several people that work with our collective that confirm it. Point being 2025 IUFB wasn’t near as money driven as people think. As for IUBB, I think CDD will need to show traction and some success before he can get top-10 roster budget. But, the #10-15 he has this year is still pretty good.
  8. Okay. Well last point of clarification is 2025 IUFB’s whole roster cost ~$21-22M, that’s rev share and NIL.
  9. It is true. Everyone knows this and heck just look at your roster it’s so obvious what all these sort of players cost. I mean you’re telling me UM had the standard $14-15M of rev share to football, and they only found $3-4M of NIL on top of that? It’s a free country like UM FB if you want, but you’re in la la land if you think UM spent $18M on their FB roster last year. That’s so far off.
  10. UM did not spend $18M on football last year. Double that and that’s closer to correct.
  11. Spring game will be on TV!
  12. Woah. Out of nowhere hire. Could work. Could not work. Not sure NBA guys are the answer in CBB, even in this era. We’ll see.
  13. Nice to see Rabby quoting himself here. Quite the ego. But, he makes a good point. Thanks Jeff!
  14. Some of the most egregious and shameless cronyism possible in the world of college sports. That IU contract was ~$15-16M more than Woody could have made as an NBA coach flame out relegated to being an assistant. That was what it was really about. And I suspect that $15-16M went to the wealth mgmt firm where Quinn is a figurehead partner. Anyways, I’m over it (thanks IUFB!), but I wanted to play the Fire Mike Woodson hits one more time.
  15. The solution is sitting there whenever schools want to pay the cost. Collectively bargain with the players. If schools and players agree on the rules, it all becomes enforceable. Try to unilaterally impose rules on players — they’ll go to court and win. Collective bargaining will cost schools more money, so they try to avoid it. Maybe someday they’ll bite the bullet. By the way, the focus on players and not coaches who cost a fortune and abandon their teams to take jobs is bit annoying.
  16. Yea. I mean what's the TV value of eight additional games with crap to mid teams that can't make the field of 68? It's very little and not moving the needle on the NCAA tourney media rights deal. None of the teams they're adding have any chance to win the title, which at the end of the day is the sporting purpose of a tournament. This isn't the end of the world, but it is unnecessary. I didn't like going from 64 to 68, but I'll admit Dayton play-in works because Dayton is bball crazy and embraces the event. One more site will be added, finding another place like Dayton would help. Maybe Wichita or something I don't know. Anyways, thumbs down from me. Given enough time they'll probably expand even more. Bleh. I'm all for evolving and growing stuff almost all of the time, but it's also nice when people fight to protect things that are already optimized and work extremely well.
  17. Boom! UNC finding out coaches who have programs rolling don't leave to restart at places they have no ties to. I guess that alleged call MJ made to Tommy didn't seal the deal... Billy D is now up to 70% odds on this news. He would obviously be a good hire, but he's been out of the college game for some time and his titles were almost 20 years ago. I don't think he forgot to coach college ball, just saying things are a little different vs. when he was doing well in college.
  18. Daniel Ndukwe confirmed that Indiana Football will be unveiling new jerseys this season. It will be interesting to see what's different. I can't imagine anything too flashy with Cig's program.
  19. Oh, I agree with you. My post was piggybacking off the point you made -- I think we're doing a pretty good job with MBB NIL given what's going on with FB and MBB's struggles. I didn't make it clear. My bad.
