  1. IU isn’t in a great spot. But even in our current state we are still a bit more than just money. To get commits we need to sell fit with the roster, development plan, the staff, exposure, playing in AH, and facilities and all that. Some of this is still appealing. We aren’t entirely chopped liver.
  2. For sure. Trent is the man. 100% Hoosier and a throwback in the world of transfers and one year stints. He’s put up with a lot since his commitment. Hopefully it works out for him and he can contribute more and be on some good teams.
  3. Nah. Inflation isn’t that near that high. People are saying we are #10-15 in roster budget. Last year we were around #15. High level estimates of course that’s all we can do.
  4. We just need Scott to call his infinite sources of money and we’re back baby.
  5. Yea, for sure. But heck, if we are at around $13M this year, that’s up from $10M last year. Pretty generous after doing diddly poo last season.
  6. If this staff can’t make the tourney and start building a program with $13M or so, which is #10-15 in the country, we have the wrong staff. Giving them more money would be a waste. If IUBB wants more they need to show traction and justify it.
  7. Providence got $10M+ for their roster per reports. Big push for the new coach I guess. Probably why we see them popping up in different places this portal.
  8. Yea, though I do think NIL is a net benefit for us... even though we haven't figured out how to use it well yet. If we have ~$12.5-14M for IUBB and that's #10-15 in the country and that's not enough to make the tourney and start building a program... we've got the wrong staff and we're toast even if we had more. Our national title football team has a roster this upcoming season probably around #10 in the country. We've only got so much money at IU like you said, unless there is a money tree in the Arboretum I don't know about.
  9. Reset the internal narrative. Keep the fire burning. Good stuff.
  10. Yep. Would have been nice if we started the gradual build part last season. If we do have around $13M, I think that’s a lot. Agree, nothing to do but watch and hope. Unless someone here works at IUBB haha.
  11. The shoe is on the other foot compared to moments like landing Hoover before he hit the portal and getting Marsh to commit and cancel his ND visit. Not fun. IUBB has to find some traction.
  12. I get why he passed on the IU job, but he did pass on it to coach at Michigan. He’s the “enemy” in the world of CBB. I sure ain’t pulling for him because he’s an alumni.
  13. CDD and Carr with Sisley's teammates:
  14. Yea, Khobie continues to look like the next gen of IUFB leaders. He was up for an interview today too. "We try to win, we try to be great. And so if we need multiple running backs to do that, then that's what we need." On Hoover: "He can really throw the rock." and "He's really adapted to just the culture that IU has." Also, here's Charlie.
  15. This week’s presser with updates from Cig: Interesting Cig sat Hoover to get a look at how good our backups QBs are with the first team.
  16. Thanks. Just guessing, but I tend to think Ryan's evals would have to include a valuation of the player? Otherwise the eval would be not so helpful. And of course CDD and assistants still have some involvement on evals. Then CDD and assistants have to sell the player on IU and get them for something close to the valuation. I kinda worry about how good of a salesman CDD is (I'm not sold! -- haha j/k... kinda), but we'll see.
  17. I’m getting tired of lettice.
  18. Is there anyone he isn’t hearing from?
  19. Yeesh. Yea. Cody Campbell is really Phil Knight 2.0 with TTU.
  20. It is. Scott is doing a great job getting a pretty decent chunk of change to bball despite a terrible last decade. Big question is if our staff can convert it into a good team for once.
