  1. Crean bashing is such a giveaway.
  2. Irrelevant. What you described is terrible organizational leadership -- it's no wonder we've struggled for so many years.
  3. This is a nightmare approach to hiring a basketball coach and running an organization.
  4. That's fair -- maybe the Cig extension doesn't work out. My guess is he is our best chance to be good at FB, and we rarely get chances like this. We had to pay him a market rate for a coach who can win 7-9 games per year and sometimes get involved in the playoff, or else someone else probably would. I'm looking forward to seeing our athletic dept revenue for 2024, I'm guessing Cig will pay for himself. Dolson came in as AD and he basically had no experience. That's a separate issue. He whiffed on Brad, but that was a longshot, and at least his head was in the right place. The Woodson hire had Quinn's fingerprints all over it, all the articles on the hire had a bunch of quotes from Quinn and Scott was thanking Quinn for being the liaison. It's pretty clear what happened -- Scott got steamrolled on this decision. I didn't like the raise, it wasn't earned yet. I don't know if that was Scott or Quinn. And if you wanted to be critical of Scott you could say the Allen extension was the wrong call. I don't know. The Cig hire seemed to be led by Scott. No signs of other "stakeholder" involvement. Cig only talked about Scott and Pam. That's why I give him credit on that hire. Scott isn't perfect and he may get the bball hire wrong. But I think he has a good chance to get it right. And I don't know who else would give us a better chance to make a good hire. Sort of Scott or bust in my opinion.
  5. Someone may know better than me, but it seems like Mitch Barnhart was given control of keeping/firing Cal and then handling their coaching search.
  6. Agree. Fortunately, it appears Cathy is just a Woody apologist. That was her agenda all along and she doesn't know what Scott and others are thinking. Scott seems to be the one who knows what they're doing in the world of IU athletics. After the Cignetti hire/extension, personally I trust him with basketball. I hope all these "stakeholders" back off and let him do his thing. I'm pretty sure he's been prepping for this hire for some time.
  7. You’ve said a lot more than that. We all read your multitude of posts, some of which were pretty unhinged. Not a good look.
  8. For sure. It's the usual -- defend Woody and attack fans/Archie/Crean. Pathetic.
  9. You're the one melting down on this board. My position is Woody has performed poorly and should have been fired after last season. That didn't happen, so he should be fired after this season.
  10. Wrong. Crean definitely wasn't great, but he came here when IU was at rock bottom, and he managed to win two conference titles and he did it without the big NIL advantage Woody has. It's interesting you claimed to be an insider, but you're just a Woody shill.
  11. The mask is off. Now we see your agenda. I'm just looking at Mike and Quinn's actions. It's been 3.5 years. Unfortunately, it's clear they're in it for themselves. Of course Mike will get pushed out, the question is when. It should have been last year. But, IUBB exists to serve Mike, so who knows how much longer this goes on. I get you like Mike and Quinn, but it hasn't worked out and IUBB should come first.
  12. Not buying it. Your posts are all over the place.
  13. I don't know. If he did he would work harder and show some self-reflection/criticism. I'm almost certain he likes the money and the power. He was stuck as an NBA assistant for seven years, no one would hire him as a head coach again, and he was making around $1M. Quinn gets him in here and he is making $3M now $4M -- this contract was a $15M boost to his bottom line. I would guess he invests all the extra money with Quinn's wealth management firm. He's no longer a random assistant, at IU he's top dog ("King of Indiana" at golf tournaments) and there are plenty of people around to suck up to him. For those who don't like him, he's got protection from Quinn. I'm sure he rationalizes his failures by comparing himself to Archie or something like that. It's a shame he is the coach. IUBB can be really special, but as of now IUBB exists to serve Mike.
  14. She's almost certainly making it all up for attention. May be a guy who knows. I agree I doubt we fire Woody midseason. I don't see much value in doing that -- no logical person to take over the HC role.
  15. Wrong. There are well run athletic departments, and ones that aren't. Universities with well run athletic departments give their AD responsibility to manage the teams, they set expectations in terms of results, and then hold the AD accountable. Management 101, it applies to any organization, including ones within universities. Poorly run athletic departments have outsiders or "stakeholders" exerting influence. When this happens it's no longer clear who is responsible for the results or who should be held accountable (and some higher up "stakeholders" can't be held accountable, like Quinn). The outsiders are rarely better than the AD at making personnel decisions, and they often have huge conflicts ("He may be the best human being I know" lol). This is a nightmare situation for any organization and creates terrible results. Also, there is no way you're a trustee or whatever you claim to be.
  16. And this is why IUBB has struggled for 25 years.
  17. "Stakeholders" is a disappointing term to see pop up. I've read this board for awhile, but I can't recall if Cathy is verified as the actual Cathy or not. The bball coach and bball results should be the responsibility of the AD. Period. Don't like the results? Change the AD. This is basic management 101. Instead of letting the AD do their job, IU has "stakeholders," which is code for people who don't know what they're doing getting involved. We've had this issue for a long time: 1) The search committee that hired Davis without interviewing anyone else. 2) Herbert and trustees pushed and got Kelvin. 3) Quinn pushed and got Woody, and he and donors are keeping him around. This approach does not work well in any organization, including IU. Our best shot is letting Scott do his job and supporting him. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if that will happen.
