  1. My guess is no cheers, but few if any boos. We're a bunch of nice Midwesterners. Maybe I'm wrong.
  2. Looking at Scott’s long tenure at IU and then becoming AD, he had the challenge that he had only experienced a mediocre athletic department / administration that made a bunch of bad FB and BB hires. He never got to work with and learn from an elite athletic department before becoming AD. Personally I give him some leeway on his mistakes (like the Allen extension). I’m hoping he has learned and now understands what we need. FB has been very encouraging.
  3. No Cathy so far today. She/he must be staffed on game day activities, no time to defend Woody on the message boards.
  4. Yea, there is the group of people who pretend they see some big picture and how it's all about to come together for Woody. They see themselves as wise and the fans are dumb and reactionary. This group will do anything to defend Woody, yet they will freely trash prior coaches without considering any context. It's pathetic. Fortunately, we're at the point the wins/losses, game scores, and rankings are too much for them to spin.
  5. Yea I said we had some AD hiring issues. Quinn doesn’t know hiring college bball coaches or what his role on the board should be with respect to the athletic dept. That’s abundantly clear. He does know cronyism.
  6. You keep saying IU handles bball coach hires like other schools, yet we’re the only top bball program to suck for 25 years. You just don’t get how good organizations work. That’s a good topic for you to study up on.
  7. Not all of them, but they’re way better than Herbert or Quinn or donors. Another failure has been some AD hires.
  8. We are talking basketball. Nebraska FB has other structural issues around recruiting, and it’s just a different sport. Nice try though.
  9. No top program has struggled like we have. You know this.
  10. And this is the problem that keeps coming up: Influence from people who don’t know what they’re doing or are conflicted.
  11. Our results are uniquely bad. We’re doing something different and it is pretty clear what it is.
  12. The difference is trusting Scott to make the decision vs. telling him what the decision is. Yea he has to get sign-off from Pam and potentially the board, and probably raise money from donors. However that’s different than Quinn telling Scott the hire really should be Woody or it is going to be Woody. Or Herbert telling Greenspan that Kelvin is the guy.
  13. If it’s a battle, who is Scott fighting?
  14. Crean bashing is such a giveaway.
  15. Irrelevant. What you described is terrible organizational leadership -- it's no wonder we've struggled for so many years.
  16. This is a nightmare approach to hiring a basketball coach and running an organization.
  17. That's fair -- maybe the Cig extension doesn't work out. My guess is he is our best chance to be good at FB, and we rarely get chances like this. We had to pay him a market rate for a coach who can win 7-9 games per year and sometimes get involved in the playoff, or else someone else probably would. I'm looking forward to seeing our athletic dept revenue for 2024, I'm guessing Cig will pay for himself. Dolson came in as AD and he basically had no experience. That's a separate issue. He whiffed on Brad, but that was a longshot, and at least his head was in the right place. The Woodson hire had Quinn's fingerprints all over it, all the articles on the hire had a bunch of quotes from Quinn and Scott was thanking Quinn for being the liaison. It's pretty clear what happened -- Scott got steamrolled on this decision. I didn't like the raise, it wasn't earned yet. I don't know if that was Scott or Quinn. And if you wanted to be critical of Scott you could say the Allen extension was the wrong call. I don't know. The Cig hire seemed to be led by Scott. No signs of other "stakeholder" involvement. Cig only talked about Scott and Pam. That's why I give him credit on that hire. Scott isn't perfect and he may get the bball hire wrong. But I think he has a good chance to get it right. And I don't know who else would give us a better chance to make a good hire. Sort of Scott or bust in my opinion.
  18. Someone may know better than me, but it seems like Mitch Barnhart was given control of keeping/firing Cal and then handling their coaching search.
  19. Agree. Fortunately, it appears Cathy is just a Woody apologist. That was her agenda all along and she doesn't know what Scott and others are thinking. Scott seems to be the one who knows what they're doing in the world of IU athletics. After the Cignetti hire/extension, personally I trust him with basketball. I hope all these "stakeholders" back off and let him do his thing. I'm pretty sure he's been prepping for this hire for some time.
  20. You’ve said a lot more than that. We all read your multitude of posts, some of which were pretty unhinged. Not a good look.
  21. For sure. It's the usual -- defend Woody and attack fans/Archie/Crean. Pathetic.
  22. You're the one melting down on this board. My position is Woody has performed poorly and should have been fired after last season. That didn't happen, so he should be fired after this season.
  23. Wrong. Crean definitely wasn't great, but he came here when IU was at rock bottom, and he managed to win two conference titles and he did it without the big NIL advantage Woody has. It's interesting you claimed to be an insider, but you're just a Woody shill.
  24. The mask is off. Now we see your agenda. I'm just looking at Mike and Quinn's actions. It's been 3.5 years. Unfortunately, it's clear they're in it for themselves. Of course Mike will get pushed out, the question is when. It should have been last year. But, IUBB exists to serve Mike, so who knows how much longer this goes on. I get you like Mike and Quinn, but it hasn't worked out and IUBB should come first.
  25. Not buying it. Your posts are all over the place.
