We also shed the most losses record, Northwestern now has it, which is nice. That one was annoying. I’m sure there are some streaks out there that are interesting that we would like to break, but for me all the meaningful demons have been exorcised.

Good guess. Another data point is the Wisky DB (Xavier Lucas) Miami tampered with and got, of course sparking that still unresolved legal action. I’d bet the farm they tried to get Ponds. They’re a scummy bunch and it’s so satisfying to have beat them.

IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates
Pagoda replied to Lebowski's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Here is an interview with Cig talking recruiting, our recent HS/portal class, and other miscellaneous stuff. Starts at 5:50 in. Nothing groundbreaking but a few interesting comments if you’re an IUFB sicko. Also here is a good write up. Notably TE is a bit of an unknown. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-notes-cignetti-says-tight-end-is-biggest-question-mark-on-2026-offense-right-now/#google_vignette -
IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates

One more for ‘26. OL. Pref walk-on. Local. Had some nice mid major offers. -
Interesting and impressive. Good for CBB!

We haven’t got many Cig podcast interviews post-National Championship. Here is a good one that just came out. 14:30 in it starts.

I’m in the two years to be fairly certain on a coach camp. Sometimes there can be deceiving factors like TJD covering up deficiencies, but that doesn’t seem present this time around. I still think it can’t be ignored that CDD inherited a tire fire and had to hire a whole new staff and recruit a whole new team in six weeks. That is an abnormally difficult situation. Did he do it perfectly? No. But, what’s realistic for that situation? And there isn’t much to say except we’ll find out if that “excuse” has any merit, or if CDD just isn’t very good. Given what we spend on MBB, personally next year I’d like to be ranked all year with the team ceiling being getting beyond the first week of the tourney. And honestly, what I think doesn’t matter. IU will give him three to four years minimum regardless of what the message boards think. That’s why I often conclude we just have to hope it works, there is nothing we else we can do.

Agree, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m sure he was happy Tino got the OC gig. But once someone leaves, they left, and it’s not always easy to bring them back.
-
Give me a break. It’s human nature sometimes. Does Tino really want to be a QB coach one might ask, etc.
-
Lou Moore Benson Baldwin Tino All guys who left and came back in one way or another. Cig doesn’t automatically close the door in these situations and keeps an open mind. That’s a good thing.

I’d love to see everything shifted up (including even the start of the season) so we get the semis on New Years and the title game the following week.

They sold around 35K season tickets last year, so there will be an opportunity this year. How many more season tickets will be available and the number of new season ticket requests is of course TBD. Per the website: “The opportunity to purchase season tickets as a new season ticket holder for the 2026 season will be available no later than February 24, 2026.” So, keep an eye on the IUFB ticket website.

I dunno, I can see why TTU went for Sorsby. There weren’t many high end QBs in the portal and if they didn’t get him their next best option could have been quite a bit worse. Maybe they paid $1M or so over market for him… hard to know. But what’s an extra $1M to Cody Campbell and their $40M roster? May as well go for it.

I see the great Chris Beard is #79 in the NET right now. And he has top-5 player payroll in the SEC per reports. Interesting. Many were convinced he was the savior… ;-) As for CDD, I can’t tell yet. Hoping for the best.

Last year it was June 10th for VC members and athletic dept donors. July 8th for the general public. -
#1 INDIANA FOOTBALL 2025 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
Pagoda replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Another collectible sort of thing. Bottles would be more ideal, but I guess we're down to cans. -
This guy, who should probably go outside and touch grass, was talking a big game about what he has on UM. But if all he has is tampering "evidence," that's not going to do much. Even if it was proven, it's just a Level II violation with no material penalties.

And Tom only achieved that one time. Oooof.

It’s bad. They belong in the ACC. They took the money but it cost them.
