  1. Spend our hs money on Jordan Smith, he can carry team from both sides of the ball. Anthony Thompson is a crummy teammate.
  2. I hope we return all 5 players that have the eligibility to return. I believe in our assistants ability to get the guys. I believe in DD as a closer. Smith would the equivalent of Coach K landing Johnny Dawkins. He would change everything on both sides of the ball.
  3. This roster reflects the staff he had for weeks after the portal opened. If he would've walked in the door with Kenny and Rod immediately after Tennessee was eliminated the roster would reflect their connections. Staff builds rosters. You come in the door stumbling and bumbling, you overpay for alot of players without defensive pedigrees. The roster wasn't a mapped out intentional mix of the "right guys." We are using the Woody approach recruiting, albeit with better recruiters and DD+$$$ should close better. I've always liked the idea of replacing seniors with high school kids and transfers with transfers. That would be alot of hs kids in this case. Either way, I think we're looking at year 3 before we can go into the season with hopes of competing for a bt title. DD has only split 1 regular season conference title so it remains to be seen.
  4. This was a player DD offered at West Virginia.
  5. I like this one. Plays both sides of the ball.
  6. Thompson's head has been overly inflated since his growth spirt. Saw him last year a few times and he's not much of a teamate.
  7. It took 2 weeks for Wade to hire a staff that included a GM from OKCs office and an assistant GM. He brought staff with him from day one. That's how you have to do it. He wasn't working off a coffee table in the players lounge with two guys that weren't bench coaches in their previous stops for over a month. DD might turn out to be a better coach but he's not been so far.
  8. Talent and poor coaching/culture Or What we have. Could we not have landed in the middle?
  9. We would be interesting with him and Claude. We could go 6'5-6'7 all the way around.
  10. Rice ate Zeigler up and we locked Lanier down. That was after both teams had been playing pick-up predominantly and had not been "coached" up. Then we started getting coached. Mgbako has been tearing it up in the scrimmages during the process, on both ends. The groovy OG of coaching approach, treating kids like 30 yo's wasn't a culture builder. Rice under DeVries would've thrived and a Ware or Ballo would have me pretty excited.
  11. Are you talking about the guitar player from Pantera?
  12. Jim sounds like Champ Kind from Anchorman. He does great with post game stuff but with an open mic he's seconds from yelling "WHHHHAAAAMY!!!" He's a good dude though.
  13. This guy is a future lottery pick. Reminds me a bit of Bobby Portis at that age.
  14. Thiam at the 5, Baba at the 4 will be interesting. Which one would score more on Bailey?
  15. Looks like he's off to a good start this year.
  16. Staffing is important. We shall see.
  17. I'm getting into my initial scouting mindset for the year before the summer aau season kicks off. I like tough, salty defensive guys with chips on their shoulder. I wanna see: •Omari Scott 6'5" 190, plays all three perimeter spots, just transfered to Worcester Academy • Manny Green• Dylan Mingo I need to get out and see Adkins and Jordan Smith too.
  18. Bailey, DeVries, Goode, Dorn, Wilkerson. Run the halfcourt offense through Bailey and lead the nation in 3pt attempts. Use some token pressure to force the pace and drop into a 3/2 zone. We'll have to win in shootouts. We can't defend with these players. Go down the list. Conerway can play with Alexis when Bailey comes out. Then maybe some box/1. I mean we're assuming Wilkerson, Dorn and Miles can play infront of 17k regularly. I wonder what a full staff to start could've done?
  19. I think Leal and Goode were defending their coach and team. Nothing wrong with that. If the culture of the team hadn't worn the majority of us out, topped off by making so little of the talent, that Leal and Goode are at a post game presser.... The fact that DD is interested in both coming back isn't a great look. Neither entered the portal and both requesting waivers, Leal just recently. This roster smh
  20. Has DD encouraged them to pursue the waiver? For this to be a story he probably has, right? It's an explanation point to an "interesting " roster construction.
  21. Brad may be getting ready to go down the road Cronin did 2 years ago. I may be wrong. I'm struggling to see how this team fits together.
  22. What's the likelihood of this happening?
  23. Sounds good. Have you heard if we've tried to contact Bundalo?
  24. I stay positive by looking at what Louisville was able to do in the middle with Waterman and Scott. I think with this current roster, although I cringe thinking about it, Bailey in the same role he played at Davidson backed up by Alexis. Maybe 10mpg together. A split we should've seen the last two years but high post. 5 out stuff. Defensively I think a lot of 3-2 zone and box and triangle stuff. Our wings are big and Conerway is physical. I think Wilkerson is ready for prime time, but we need Miles and Sisley to contribute. Trent is a strong defender.
  25. Drive over and see the Kenny and Landon Lampley soon.
