  1. You made the ridiculous assertion, not me or anybody else. Only one coach has been relieved mid-season (Sampson) and it had nothing to do with performance. The last 3 underperforming coaches all got to finish the season and Knight’s firing before the season also had nothing to do with performance. Not sure why you would think it’d be any different for Woodson who isn’t facing a for-cause termination. Acting like there’s a prior precedent for firing an underperforming coach in the middle of the season is an outlandish take. It’s literally never happened at IU before lol.
  2. The portal window to open perhaps? Would be the most logical guess.
  3. You are welcome sir Tucker will be in the portal within 48 hours of the season effing by the way.
  4. Should be at the new coach's discretion and his discretion only. Sounds like Tucker and his crew already have one foot out of the door anyway.
  5. Sampson was given the option to resign in exchange that he wouldn't later sue the university and Davis was given the option to resign cordially or be fired at the end of the season...the same option that likely exists for Woodson. Knight and Sampson were fired/forced to resign due extenuating circumstances while Davis, Crean, and Archie were allowed to coach until the end of the season. Not sure why you'd think it'd be any different for Woodson unless extenuating circumstances permit otherwise.... which obviously don't exist. Losing a bunch of games isn't a for-cause termination like violating a zero tolerance policy or committing several level 1 NCAA violations. Pretty straightforward.
  6. Archie had a losing record his last year....
  7. One was fired for violating a zero tolerance policy. One resigned and coached out the end of the season while the other resigned amidst level 1 infractions. Which leaves Archie and Crean who were both fired at the end of the season. Woodson, who hasn't violated a zero tolerance policy nor been charged with level 1 infractions, is going to coach out the remainder of the season until he is inevitably fired. Seems pretty par for the course.
  8. Lol if you think Bruce Pearl was being jerked around by IU last year. The only way you seriously believe that is if you believe everything you read on this board....which proves my point. If anything, Bruce Pearl was jerking Auburn around (at the expense of IU) to pander for the new basketball practice facility that he's asked for now for the last several years.
  9. She may be antagonizing but I don’t believe she’s actually wrong. There are two or three handles on here who the majority take their word as gospel and they’ve invented this narrative that Mike Woodson is coaching on a game to game basis. It doesn’t appear that is the case. It deserves to be called out.
  10. My interpretation is that she’s laughing at guys like @Chris007 and @ap2345 who have this board thinking Mike Woodson is coaching on some game to game basis. She’s ending all speculation to that.
  11. Of course not, which means there’s no contractual reason to fire Woodson today.
  12. I’m not parsing anything. If you think firing Woodson today means Dusty May is going to officially interview tomorrow then you’re nuts.
  13. Why? Tom Allen's fate was decided three weeks before it was announced and that turned out alright.
  14. IU is not going to officially interview any single candidate currently under contract until the end of the regular season regardless if Mike Woodson is fired today, tomorrow, or at the conclusion of the regular season.
  15. She's telling you right now that he's gone at the end of the season so you don't have to root for the team to lose. It's already been decided, it's just not going to be officially announced until the conclusion of the season.
  16. What's the issue? She's all but telling you that Mike Woodson is gone after this season. That's what everybody wants correct?
  17. The "official process" of removing Mike Woodson and announcing his replacement has nothing to do with backchanneling and sourcing potential candidates in the meantime.
  18. Guys---You're reading way too much into this. All Cathy is saying is that Mike Woodson is going to coach out the remainder of the season before the university parts ways and announces a new coach hence the "official process". She's not doing anything but dispelling rumors and speculation that he's going to be replaced mid-season. Pretty obvious.
  19. CSS is much more involved in IU athletics, and IU in general, than her brother David who is the CEO of the Simon Property Group.
  20. Just remember, a Purdue fan started the whole controversy. Doesn’t excuse he or the rest of the teams play, but my wife and + several other couples were in that casino well after midnight and there wasn’t a single player in it. https://x.com/zachvogt30/status/1861858119451574405?s=46&t=w6QCfPv_ohX9q670DTqgcA https://x.com/huxleyfuxley/status/1862860192045506631?s=46&t=w6QCfPv_ohX9q670DTqgcA
  21. He was definitely gambling in the Atlantis, but it wasn’t at 2am the night before the game as originally depicted. As someone who was at the Battle For Atlantis, the team did a meet and greet with a private group after dinner and a few hit the casino after. This was closer to 6-7pm. We were in Vegas two years ago and TJD and Race were at the Roulette table at the Aria for a long time the night before the Arizona game and don’t ever remember anyone making a fuss over it.
  22. I never said he wasn’t innocent. But having charges dropped isn’t the same thing as being found not guilty. Like I said earlier, having domestic violence charges against you dropped shouldn’t be the barometer for gaining employment. There’s a public police record available with all the alleged details that you’re more than welcome to read. He will not be IU’s next head coach.
  23. Only one coach was cleared (in the sense you’re interpreting) of any wrong doing. It wasn’t Beard by the way.
  24. I don't think being convicted of a crime is the barometer one must clear in order to be hired as Indiana's basketball coach. Todd Golden was investigated and cleared by Florida's Title IX department. Chris Beard wasn't cleared because charges weren't filed. Two different scenarios.
