I disagree on Gunn because unless Newton is 100% I think Gunn will start the season ahead of him in the depth chart. I think Leal and Walker will be the players iyr of the rotation -

I noticed you don't have Gunn in the lineup and I feel he will be a key contributor to this year's team -

I hope TJD has a great season but don't base anything you see in tbe summer league. I have seen plenty of players look great in summer league that never did anything in the NBA -

What info and criteria does this simulator use. I would think doing this for college basketball would be really difficult. With so much turnover from year to year you don't have much info to go on -
I think it shouldn't start until after the championship game.

Don't think that is accurate March 13 signaled the official opening of the portal, which means coaches across the country are juggling how to manage their respective rosters heading into next year, while many are also playing in postseason tournaments.
-
On the Field of 68 a couple weeks ago this was the topic of discussion. One coach said that the day before the championship game the UCONN coaching staff was on zoom with players from the portal.
-
Why not wait until the day after the championship game

I just remember the flack that Woodson got when he didn't go to the state finals the year because he went on vacation.
-
It wasn't just about them getting time off from the job. The main thing about the portal was about being able to know your roster in time for summer school and workouts.
-
Did any other f you actually have ake time to watch the podcast. Most of it is just stating that they need to shorten the time of the portal. They want to have it start after the National Championship game and end in the.middle if May. This is for all transfers including grad transfers. They said that the night before the championship game that the UCONN coaches were on zoom calls with transfers. I feel that is not right do I agree they need to change the dates of the portal.

They are not just talking about the HC's but the assistants. Also talking about mid to low major coaches as well. Miller said his job was what caused his divorce. To me coaches need to stop thinking about jey have to put all these long hours in to he successful. There should be a couple of weeks in the summer where everything is a dead period and let everyone go home or go on vacation to relax

Just looked at RMK last great team 92-93 and these teams were on the non conference schedule. Murray St., Austin Peay, W. Michigan and Butler and this was when Butler was an after thought. Also had Tulane on the schedule but they were pretty good that year. As for how it will work effect selection Sunday, if our schedule stacks up with the other teams it won't hurt our chances.

You can watch this on YouTube which is where I watched it. They were talking how with the portal and your normal recruiting period you have little or no down time to spend with your family. Wes Miller talked about when UC's new football coach saw Miller in the middle of the summer about why Miller was still in the office Miller told him all he has been doing during the summer and the football coach said the next he is headed to the beach. He thought that football coaches always talked about not having the time for themselves but now it is the basketball coaches.
-
I guess you will always be upset because nobody will play all top power conference teams. Just seems like you want to complain about something so trivial
-
Watching this right now and the coaches are going to try to get a change in the recruiting calendar. They are saying if it doesn't change then more and more coaches will leave the profession.

I don't see many cream puffs on this schedule and is no different than any other power conference teams.
