(2025) - Maya Makalusky to INDIANA
TTT replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
Makalusky would be excellent with teammate like Mikayla Blakes type player. -
Maybe, tv emphasis on C. C. Iowa vs IU Ladies Basketball next Saturday’s game on Fox will give IU motivation. I don’t think game was verbally noted though it was displayed on tv screen.

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

Could be perceived that way…however, reality is yet to be determined. -

Dream job….worst thing that can happen (barring any criminal activity) is walk away with several $millions regardless of performance or become a legend by one more win than loss during coaching tenure. -
Does Bargesser have a kink in her neck especially when she shoots ft’s that for her physically she can’t correct? (without some kind of surgery or it seems like it would have been corrected already). Quick and keeps improving defensively and passing…I think she will score a little more as she plays in her career. Interesting as always post game with T. Moren and Holmes always seems to echo T.Moren comments….acknowledged excellent first quarter while keeping rest of game in perspective….need to keep improving emphasizing on defense, etc etc. Always interesting breakdown of game/s when ask questions T. Moren gives pretty detailed answers.

J.L. would do really well in Mid major program where his speed and abilities could shine some.

The complexity of each situation and taking care of oneself as number one definitely requires empathy as no one knows about each individual’s situation.

Trick play and high reward high risk play calling series almost cost Washington the game…worse play calling than IU coaching staff ever due to significance of game and a solid lead at the time. Penix should have won heisman. Congratulations to him. Washington offensive line is really really really good. Washington is a great definition of a solid team at every position. Coach DeBoer greatness…more under control after win than some coaches are when their team makes a first down. DeBoer and Penix is IU foot print on the National Collegiate Football Championship…the closest thing to a National Collegiate Football Championship that IU football program has ever had.

IU Ladies by 14+++ if IU Ladies are going to go very far this year. -
Does IU play the Sunbelt conference champion in January 2025 for the National Collegiate Division 1 football championship?

And T.A. is in a much better match for himself. He did excellent for himself both, professionally and financially. And the starving IU football fanbase create an illusion that James Madison is a division 1 football power with NFL like player prospects with a new IU football coach who accepts a $millions of reasons to lead IU football to the football promised land by accepting his best offer of the best thing going for him. I do wonder why he hasn’t been offered in power 5 before??…with all his winning success…Is IU decision makers all of a sudden football genius??

So can IU football come within 10 points of beating the likes of an 8-4 (4 game losing streak) Air Force team in 2024? -

I understand that part of what you are saying and I agree…However, the money part is blessed assurance (insurance). -

Colossal risk = equals 0 risk from about $600,000 to $700,000 a year to about $2,500,000 per year plus more incentives for just doing a job hired to be done. That’s 0 risk not colossal. -
Not seeing IU Ladies beating a top 10 team at this point. 16 to 30 ranking would be accurate as there are 30 top rated or more teams that IU Ladies could win or lose because they haven’t been particularly reliable nor dominant thus far vs good teams and even not so good teams. Besides CC and Iowa (because of CC) there is much parity among big ten teams.

Yes, she had to overcome some barriers that is what makes it so awesome. She and her staff really worked hard to get the IU Ladies basketball culture to where it is today….(and I remember her saying (humbly and confidently)a few years back that she had to learn a few things as well). The transfers were more of resistance to a new culture change than anything else. Buss and Cahill (great people and players themselves) along with the others that stayed bought in. ….just an interesting research of comments and T. Moren growth and accolades including coaching wins, assignments on national USA teams etc.

Reminiscing from when T. Moren started as IU Ladies basketball coach as to what it was and the barriers especially the first couple years (riding Buss and Cahill) to where it is in 2023-2024 and how it came to be over the T. Moren era thus far is just awesome.
