IUBB @ Wisconsin - Friday, 01.19.24 @ 8:30 ET on FS1
TTT replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
WHAT HAPPENED? IU leading the nation in their own version of intramural ball at the rec center and that’s how they look when they play. -
In almost all scenarios whether different or similar and whether at IU or anywhere else there is just no ACCOUNTABILITY for all the high amounts of money that is thrown around to everyone at the top and or near the top of major organizations. IU team/s play is a reflection of how the coach and coaching staff as a whole concept and unit perform their coaching duties and responsibilities of job performance.

Alford. Check mark ✔️ approved Coach at Indiana State. Check mark ✔️ approved The Dan Fife scenario makes more and more sense.

If IU wants a players coach that wins with knowing how to build a program go to where they got T.Moren….on 46 to Terre Haute and grab that coach.
-
Same thing was said about T.A., and pretty much every newly hired coach in one way or another….It is basically called hope and huge bank accounts.
-
Accountability at the bank…he and others are doing quite well.

Is 3:15pm est time a clue like another one who went to west coast? Or is it an after school time? -
Listened to it: and every one is happy and things are going great and making lots of money…Life is good….and why wouldn’t it be.

This thread alone is about coaching candidates since January of 2021 and the threads before this one represent IU trying to find a men’s basketball coach during the 21st century (since about 2000). Maybe, someday (1st quarter century 2025-2026) IU will find a men’s basketball coach or it’s going to be a long uneventful IU men’s basketball century.

And this is what the Dr has ordered for IU Ladies basketball program? Buss, among others and T. Moren a guard herself…a coach-player relationship. IU Ladies High ability foot speed and quickness elevated would be great fit….. and IU has solid medical field programs (and of course so does Stanford and Vanderbilt) -
Since Caitlin Clark has one year left bringing her from Iowa…could that be a thing nowadays? High picks from the ten second line and shots from there and behind logos across the country.

This is what is operating on somewhat off a thin line is catching up with IU Ladies….IU has elite players and team while at the same time not enough eliteness waiting in the wings….IU Ladies have missed out on some big time targets. T. Moren and staff have been able to bring in elite players but at the same time not enough elite players are flocking to IU. Sidney and Chloe (hopefully not tired) and Yarden all great Wisene good if she comes back but not much of a factor and very limited Jelks is not working out and physical issues Lilly will be lucky to average 10 per game but always good to have wishful thinking. Much help needed. Bargesser game at best totally neutralized because she is non scoring threat at this level. Both, Beaumont and Lamendola role players at best and a couple years away if they are still around and both lack polish and quickness at this level plus haven’t really shown much scoring ability Sandvik could be surprisingly solid next year. IU Ladies need some additional star power for sure with quickness and scoring ability including a best big IU Ladies can get. (again it will be a challenge for Lilly to average double figures and everything is going to be a challenge for her. It’s a big step down in talent level). Also needed is an elite scoring guard. Finally, Blakes needed. Question: is this IU Ladies basketball era peaked or is it going to be able to maintain? -
If and when ever the time comes coaches to keep in mind: Steve Alford love story And a coach just up 46 in Terre Haute (up and coming) and a winner thus far 48 year old Josh Schertz…see if he wins MVC and makes tournament runs….recruiting well and teams off season work, conditioned, prepared excellent for games, teams put together well with good character, graduates players, and players like playing for him.….and IU men’s basketball are lacking in these areas.
-
The installation of the king and his court (coaching staff) for IU men’s basketball. Great gigs for those guys…status, financial security, and future opportunities if wanted, or semi retirement, or retirement but opportunities abound.

IUBB vs Purdue - Tuesday, 01.16.24 @ 7:00

Might want to make a run before you get 20+ down. Maybe, make run after getting down 14 or 15. After this run still down 9.
