And the problem is that Scott Dolson was hired as AD and has worked at IU for decades. I honestly had hoped that IU would hire someone to replace Glass who came from outside of the university. I know Glass was an external candidate, but he had no previous AD experience. I wanted Jurich or someone who had experience hiring good coaches. Instead, we have a guy who has years of experience in a department who has made so many bad decisions in the basketball program. Why would we expect any kind of better results. If he makes another bad choice, he's either incompetent or weak. Everyone lets him off the hook for Woodson, but why? It just shows that he was weak or thought it was a good idea. Either answer is bad. IU needed a strong AD candidate from outside. But, the IU admin would've viewed that as a threat, hence why they hired a guy who they see as a lapdog. -

This is the issue. You're hearing from actual media people now about Brownell. Thamel before and now others. That is the troubling part. -

IU wins every off-season, regardless of the coach. It's the IU way at this point. LOL -

Mike Woodson did in his final year exactly what anyone who was paying attention knew what he would do in his final year. Underachieve. -

Good coach. He's older than Woody, though. I think he's like 70. One pre-requisite should be that they should be younger than 70, I think. LOL -

Way more than 20 coaches. How long did it take Woody to figure out that playing Reneau and Ballo together was a bad idea? He stopped doing it only initially when Reneau got hurt. -

Well, Pope has been pretty good, but Kelsey has been great. Absolutely great, so obviously no regret there, but I get your point. -

Well, not only to come to a message board, but then complain to said message board for lack of relevant information. -

Admittedly, I only came to BTB in 2021 - I was a peegs guy for looong time before that, so I'm definitely one of the new guys here. I was one of the many people who came for the last coaching search and because peegs have zero real info regarding the actual search (and it sounds like little has changed this time around). Can anyone explain to me why there would be so much subterfuge on IU's part? I mean, I hear some of the craziest stories of distraction - things that would be almost CIA-worthy. I understand that some of it is jokes, but I think a lot of it is actually serious. Why would Dolson need to work so hard to fool people and send them in the wrong direction? I can understand his reluctance to publicize certain details of the search, and he's doing a good job of keeping details to himself and his circle, but what does he actually gain by sending out even a fourth of the false flags that people are proposing? Don't get me wrong - I find this board loads of fun and I've been reading it a lot. I guess a big part of me is just baffled by some of misdirection theorized by people here. It would only seem necessary in a Robert Ludlum novel. LOL -

More likely that you're Woody. After all, Brownell actually has a game to prepare for. Woody, well, we all know he doesn't work very hard, so he has plenty of time to hang out on this forum, like the rest of us degenerates...LOL
