  1. I'm really surprised that undead vampire was out in the light twice in a 24-hour period. Dude really loves his son...
  2. I think the B1G might be the strongest conference in the middle. I think the next round of the tourney is going to show that the top of the B1G is not so strong and that the SEC top is really strong. I agree. The middle and bottom of the SEC was massively over-valued.
  3. Yeah, but his last 4 years in the B1G he finished like 7, 8, 1, and 10. And the year he won it was a bad year for the conference. He wasn't trending in a good way no matter how you slice it.
  4. I don't think that's the main reason Crean was fired. I think he was fired because of his inconsistency and his recruiting was going in a negative direction. So were his B1G finishes.
  5. That's why he was catching heat at Kentucky and the fans weren't all that upset when he left.
  6. Yep. I will forever contend that the 88-89 team was RMK's best coaching job. Winning the B1G that year when Illinois and Michigan both made the final four and Michigan won the title was amazing. That team was not one of his most talented at all. And the B1G was absolutely loaded with talent then. RMK was at the height of his powers then...
  7. Yep. During the early years of RMK, I doubt that he deferred to how things were done during the Branch McCracken years. LOL Or how Lou Watson did them. RMK had the utmost respect for older, winning coaches (and his mentors), but he did what he needed to do to win. That's what DDV needs to do. Just win.
  8. This times a thousand. I was baffled by the pressure by Missouri, nearly out to half court. I was not impressed by the "adjustments" made by Gates. I mean, what did he adjust on D? Just back off of Drake. What would've been hard about that? Why guard them all the way out to half court?
  9. No dad bod yet, unlike the Chef guy at Clemson. Seriously, how can that guy look like he's so lacking in fitness at a major school?
  10. All he had to do was leave IU to regain his shooting eye.
  11. And Bidunga is pretty bad for a McDonald's All-American. Absolutely zero basketball ability. Definitely some similarities to Hanner there.
  12. This is a Calipari game. His team's raw talent might overcome his coaching incompetence. Go Talent!
  13. Arkansas looks like they've never faced a zone before, and the announcer said that Kansas has rarely played a zone all year. Cal is such a bad coach. Dude can recruit like a mother, but is the definition of a horrible Xs and Os coach.
  14. Agreed. I'd love to see him stay the hell out of the B1G. Forever.
  15. McNeese did everything they possibly could to lose that game, though. My God they lost a lot of points in the last 5 minutes. I'm still not that impressed by Wade. They were so incredibly undisciplined. I hated both coaches in that game.
  16. If this is an example of his system, he's going to have to recruit like a mother, though. You're not going to be able to "out athletic" the likes of Duke or UNC on the regular.
  17. They certainly are doing that today. I have to admit that I've never really paid attention to his teams, but yikes. McNeese is playing so hard, but so wild. They do make Clemson look really slow, though, so there's that.
  18. Exactly. Expectations should be for a good, solid season. And, more importantly, an improved culture. The players play hard. Recruiting starts to look better. Team plays smarter. The fans will know if progress is being made. A certain number of wins doesn't need to be attained. We just need to see a solid program getting stabilized.
  19. This is EXACTLY who came to mind for me, of course. LOL
  20. No, the only thing good about the Archie time period was his smokeshow wife. Archie was an absolute disaster, and I can't believe that he got past the interview. Archie must have brought his better half and Fred was ... uh ... distracted.
  21. Never too early to get a jump on next year's voting...
  22. You have to follow the process. That's why it's s-l-o-w.
  23. I'll never understand the Ballo shooting his freethrows with his opposite hand thing. I love Calbert, and will never know anything about basketball compared to him, but having him shoot free throws with his weaker hand? That just seems so counter-intertuitive. It obviously didn't work. Why not just work on improving his form with his natural shooting hand and work on any mental issues he has with shooting free throws? A fitting metaphor for the last 4 years. Everything IU did under Woody just seemed harder than it needed to be..
