I think we’ve (partially) learned to get less attached to players. So when they’re gone prematurely it’s not as noticeable / meaningful. Over the last few years we’ve lost guys like Stewart, Franklin, Brunk etc.. and we more or less shrug it off. on the flip side I remember when guys like Steve Hart, Michael Hermon, and Sherron Wilkerson left and being REAL sad. Of course I was only seven.

I don’t get all the bet hedging. If he had visited KU and two and a half days later canceled his remaining trips we’d say, ‘lock for Kansas’. Yet we we refuse to give ourselves the same odds. None of us would say ‘We’ll, he saw all he needed to in the visit before last’. I don’t mean to come across unkind, but Sometimes we sound like a bunch of ugly-duckling, always the bridesmaids and never the brides, who never get quality recruits and are always playing second fiddle— forced to pick over the scraps of the real winners. It’s as if some have gotten so cozy with defeat that it’s all we see. I reject that attitude. He’s ours until he’s not.

It just doesn’t make sense that ‘he wants to go to Kansas’ yet takes the IU visit anyway BUT THEN cancels the UofL trip following our visit. I get it. The kid can do whatever he wants, and he could pick KU. But why take one visit (us) over another (UofL)? I lean toward no one REALLY knowing, and prognosticators just prognosticating. My gut says IU and it isn’t close. Last thing I’ll say— if the shoe was on the other foot and we were to swap the KU / IU visits we’d ALL be saying, “KU”. That’s simple where the tea leaves point. I could be wrong but…

SOOOO when will we get our NEXT addition and WHO do we think it will be?
