I only saw the Arizona game and he looked better running the offense than Fland did that game. I’d probably bet on the Princeton senior to settle in and be a steady hand at PG before Fland. Probably not good when you have two PGs who aren’t great shooters and are used to having the ball play at the same time and force one of them out of primary ball handling duties. Not sure what the logic in bringing both in was for them.

I like the little guard they got from Princeton more than Fland.

I thought Michigan looked pretty average-ish. Maybe their big gives us trouble in the paint. Man, I forgot Lville added Conwell and McNeely. They might actually have more shooting than us if their freshman gets hot. That’s going to be a tough game for sure. Illinois looks tough and physical and their guy down low is a load. We’ll need the pace to be up in these types of games.

I can’t believe mini-Pitino and Xavier getting run out if the gym last night by Santa Clara escaped everyone’s attention. Rough start!

The good news is if IU is getting beat up in the post we can make a move before the trade deadline

I’m interested to see how we go about roster building from here on out. Redshirting, without injury, in modern NIL seems almost like an anachronism. If Ristic or another injured guy can crack the rotation we could at least say we have 3 guys with PT returning in Miles, Sisley, and 3rd person. If we bring in 5 more seniors in the transfer market we put ourselves in similar situation going into yr 3 though.

Just an FYI for the YouTube TV folks. Google is giving a $20 statement credit but you have to OPT IN. it isn’t automatic.

It’s probably not fair because TKR has been out but Purdue has barely looked like a top 25 team so far.

None of that matters without the right coach. As we’ve proved for two decades now

Including the exhibition, we’ve now played two teams that historically have long athletic squads and acquitted ourselves well in both. Wilkerson, Alexis and Tucker are obvious B1G level players. Enright was always going to get by on toughness and grit. Conerway and Bailey have struggled a little in each game, but I’ve seen enough to feel comfortable that they should be able to compete even if they get picked on defensively at times. Sisley probably falls in the latter category too even though he played well today. We play in a league where guys like Martenelli and Loyer are major pieces. Anthony Leal was one of the best defenders last year. There’s just not that many squads full of NBA plus-level athletes that could potentially overwhelm us. I worry about depth a little. Thought it might hurt us yesterday with the foul trouble. Rebounding will probably be a struggle. Not bad yesterday but they definitely got some easy putbacks.

Tough place to play. They might have one of the coolest vball arenas in the country.
