    Apparently staff involved are putting together interview/recruiting materials for Dolson to use in his “meetings” but are not being told who it is for and are not allowed any access when the “meetings” occur. Very tight lipped it sounds like.

    Still nothing on the communications end from my source in athletic department. It was noted that it is very tight lipped and that most in athletic department would not know until it was announced. I’ll keep checking in occasionally in case anything changes.

    There would be a winner. Brad Stevens. Except Brad didn’t even audition in the first place.

    I think “desperate” may have been the wrong word to use. What I mean is throwing public feelers out to all of the top coaches could be considered a bad look if/when they say “no”. Then when you get to the Beard group, there may be a view from the fans (and them) that we are settling. One of those coaches could bring us back, but perception may be damaged starting out.

    I believe we need to offer Few, Wright, and Bennett the $7 mil deal and make them say no. Obviously, this would have to be back-channeled from Dolson so that word isn’t getting out that we actually “are” that desperate. The Hail Mary often doesn’t work out, but Dolson may be our Aaron Rodgers. If/When they say no then we move to Beard/Beilein/Oats/Drew crowd (whichever Dolson has on his short list).

    My source in the athletic dept still has not received any communication about coming in to do work for a press release. They are sticking with what they have heard from their boss from a couple of hours ago. Again, this is the only source I have so not much!

    I don’t have many sources but did have one in athletic department (that is involved in coaching search communications-wise) tell me that Rabjohns is not wrong in his report. Don’t expect an announcement this weekend.
