I believe Lewis considered this position (and other HC opportunities) similar to what the kids in the transfer portal are doing now. IU athletic department was confident he would sign on, but he just went a different direction than assumed after some thought/time. It happens.

No new news on Race. He’s keeping it tight and exploring his options. I think that one may be the last one we hear on if I had to guess..

I asked the same source who notified me of this and they do not have a peg on which way Armaan is leaning FYI. Although they did say expect an announcement one way or another fairly soon (didn’t specify on time but I am assuming next day or so)

Hearing good things about Geronimo returning. Hopefully that pans out.

I don’t remember where I saw it first, but there’s an expectation that the assistant coaches will all be announced at the same time (likely next couple of days). No confirmed names but speculation based on talk inside the department.

Have a source in athletic department. I was told to keep an eye out when I asked about Lewis after the game.

Cool update from my source in athletic department. Men’s Basketball looks to be headed to the 21st century in terms of rebranding itself. “Social media, video board, music before/during games, pep band music/uniforms, etc”. Expect more access to program and a total refreshed and modern look. Dolson isn’t messing around when fans are allowed back in. I’m sure everyone has noticed the increased marketing of CMW and the program recently. This is just the beginning. I don’t know about potential uniform changes yet!

My initial reaction to Woodson hiring was disappointment as I had believed we still had a shot at getting Oats/Musselman/etc. But ever since Goodman tweeted he didn’t like the hire AND Thad being announced as an quasi-assistant.. I’m feeling hopeful.

Wow. I am pretty disappointed right now. Hope it works out for Dolson’s sake.

Checked in and there’s still no knowledge on the Communications/Social Media side of the athletic department. So Dolson still has not let this get out too far I would say.

Things are still very shush from athletic department, I’ve been told. No whispers that anything is close to being reported to media. Press releases/announcement material have not been created.

I’m pretty sure now we all can agree that Lander’s tweet about happiness likely was not referring to the coaching search. Dolson has obviously not told the players much.

I know Chris said he didn’t know every detail to this, but I’ve been told by my source in athletic department that the Matta offer story was completely false FWIW

Just another confirmation that Dolson is doing this himself. Apparently not even the assistant ADs are in the know of the exact candidates (“Dolson, secretary, spokesperson”). If there is a leak, it’s from the interviewee’s side where the truth is often bent.

I understand that I haven’t built credibility on this site as I’ve been in and out for 5 or so years. BUT(!) I can assure everyone that my source won’t know know every detail or will choose just not to tell me every detail. I’ll just pass any info on that is shared with me that I’m lucky enough to receive. I do know what is shared with me is straight from inside the athletic department.

I think this goes without saying, but 99.9% of the rumors going around are not true. I’ve been told by a source in athletic department (with firsthand knowledge of the process) that practically every rumor out there is unfounded and made up. Source said only Rabjohns/Osterman (via IU spokesperson) report about Matta not being interviewed/taking a physical was only true story. Just FYI.

That tweet was too vague to be anything of substance IMO. It says they were considering some candidates with ties to the program. This could mean “IU guys” or could mean Bob Knight guys (Beard). But above all, it didn’t say we were exclusively looking at these candidates.
