Thanks, that helped me find some of the posts. In this one from yesterday, he says that McCasland will go to Baylor if Drew goes to IU. https://ontexasfootball.com/forums/topic/5890-hoops-college-coaching-carousel-2025/page/15/#comment-112967 In this one from Saturday, he says that Drew is a favorite for the IU job but that doesn't mean it's a done deal. https://ontexasfootball.com/forums/topic/5890-hoops-college-coaching-carousel-2025/page/11/#comment-112395 Last Wednesday, Drew to IU most likely. https://ontexasfootball.com/forums/topic/5890-hoops-college-coaching-carousel-2025/page/9/#comment-111720 First post about it that I saw. From 2/14. Coaching chatter says Drew to IU and McCasland to Baylor. https://ontexasfootball.com/forums/topic/5890-hoops-college-coaching-carousel-2025/page/5/#comment-109974 Telephone sure is a fun game. It's always interesting to see how the original gets distorted by the end.

Just saw Andre Curbelo was dismissed from his current team, Southern Miss, a couple of days ago. That guy has been around forever. I remember Miller wanted him badly. Another Miller evaluation miss that was also, luckily, another recruiting miss. Dude turned out to be a turnover machine. He has to be out of eligibility now, right?

IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving
go iu bb replied to LIHoosier's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
It's championship season! The women had their B1G Championship meet last week into the weekend. They finished 2nd to OSU. It ended up close but not nearly as close as last year (0.5 point difference). OSU was probably helped a bit by it being at their pool. IU's B1G champions: Grana: 100 fly - also had 2 2nd place finishes, great meet for her, 2nd to Bacon from Wisconsin in individual scoring Peplowski: 500 free - plus 2 3rd place finishes, great meet Paegle: 50 free Crawford: 200 breast Liu: 3 meter, platform diving - I haven't seen, but she was likely diver of the meet 400 medley relay https://swimswam.com/2025-b1g-womens-swimming-and-diving-championship-box-score/ The events that really hurt IU were the IM events. They got absolutely crushed by OSU in those. 112-9 in the 200 IM and 110-44 in the 400 IM for a combined 222-53 in those events. OSU outscored IU by only 58 points for the whole meet. Ouch. Unfortunately for IU, OSU had freshmen score a ton of points and Michigan had the best scoring of the meet by swimmers who will have eligibility left. -
They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
go iu bb replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The great thing is Dolson gets to decide, not some random guy on Brown Banners who is a Beard lover and doesn't care about domestic violence. He can complain all he wants but it's not his decision at all. The online domestic violence apologists are not making the hire. Even better, Dolson won't be hiring him so getting upset about people being opposed to hiring a woman beater will be moot in the end. -

You seem to think that IU moving on from Woodson was a surprise to everyone else. It wasn't. Schools will make decisions on whether or not to extend their coaches regardless of if the status of the IU job. May signing an extension with the IU job open just showed publicly that he had no interest in the position. -
Saying they wouldn't be upset with him being hired and that he's better than some of the other names being thrown around doesn't mean they want him as the coach. I don't see anyone saying Cronin is their #1 choice.
-
It hasn't. Brad was supposed to sign all star weekend but unfortunately his pen ran out of ink. So he is waiting for his ink refill to come in and that takes time. It's special ink made from the horn of a free range, organic grass fed unicorn. So it'll be a few more weeks.
-
He also could have used zoom to attend the meeting.
-
The goal is to hire a great (or even good) coach. The goalie is the IU fan base. The kickers are IU ADs over the years.
-
Probably wanted another Florida golfing trip on IU's dime before he leaves.
-
It doesn't have to be Brownell since I'm sure Alford would take the job if offered. There are plenty of other bad options still available. lol

For those wondering if it really takes him off the board since the buyout went to only $7.5M, after reading this article I'd say yes. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/dusty-may-michigan-agree-to-contract-extension-amid-indiana-basketball-coaching-search/ "I think it makes it obvious: I'm staying at Michigan," May told CBS Sports, adding, "I really wasn't interested in leveraging in negotiating" Other info from the article: CBS Sports can exclusively report on the details of May's new contract terms: A one-year extension on the deal, which now runs through the spring of 2030 An increase of $1 million annually in salary A pay bump across the board for the Michigan men's basketball staff A big increase investment for program resources, including Michigan's NIL war chest A buyout that will rise to $7.5 million
-
Obviously, IU is not May's dream job as many thought it was. I question whether IU would have gotten him even last year since he rejected UL because it's a fishbowl. Stevens May Who's next up?

Are you being comical today on purpose or is this hypocrisy due to lack of self awareness? Your trashing of our head coach was much more sustained and of a personal nature than people "trashing" poor Beard by pointing out what he is on the record as having done. But you're right, people on this board have no control over who gets hired any more than we had control over Woodson getting fired, err, "retired." People in the know say that Beard has little to no chance of being hired.
-
I wonder what he thinks now. That was 8 days ago and I think Goodman's tweet was 7 days ago. So that was before the tweet. Only 7 days!? It seems like forever ago. And we're looking at 4-6 weeks until we finally find out who will be the coach. That'll be a looooong month plus.
-
Just because he wants the IU job doesn't mean he "loves IU." Why do you think he "loves IU"? 54% in P4 conferences isn't really a "proven winner." You'd take that over actual proven winners? Good thing Ole Miss fans love him because no better schools want him. He doesn't love them back because he wants out but has no where to go.
-
Not really. They take on the burden of doing a lot of the work that AD doesn't have time for. Like @Hovadipo said, they do background checks, PR, logistics. They're a middleman which serves as a point of contact for the agents of interested coaches to go to and they'll reach out to the agents of coaches IU is interested in to gauge interest. They might add a few suggestions based on the school's criteria, but their main purpose it to shoulder the burden of all the leg work that the AD can't do or doesn't want to do. They have the added benefit of when IU reaches a deal with someone, they can say "this was the first guy we went after" with it technically not being a lie.

IU would give him 4 years. Does OSU? I doubt it.

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

You're complaining about people posting the same thing over and over? lmao -
You're assuming the plan was to get rid of Woodson this year. I don't think it was, at least not for those who had the power to keep him last year. So the idea was they stuck with Woodson an extra year to give Stevens time to come around on taking the job or to see how May performed at a high major school is wrong, imo.

That cat looks offended. We need to stop offending the cat.

Ah, good. You're back to ejumicate us. -
Nothing to apologize for. You may very well be correct, I just haven't seen the same thing. I'm not sure that I've seen anywhere how it is to be divided amongst a team. It might just be an assumption that on my part that it wouldn't have to be divided equally. I guess we'll find out before too long. I wonder if these will be open for public record requests since they're contracts signed with the schools.
-
Have you seen that everyone within the same sport will get the same amount? Either from the NCAA/courts or IU? Everything else you said lines up with what I have seen and as I understand it but I don't recall seeing that it would be divided evenly by the team. That would certainly be the most equitable way of dividing the money but I'm not sure that's how it's going to be. I thought it was going to be similar to the way coach controlled NIL is right now - they get a bucket to divide as they see fit. In a way, this makes as much sense as distributing it equally. The starting QB will have a much larger impact than the DB who is 10th on the depth chart and hasn't played a single snap. The elimination of walk-ons is part of the way to more fairly compensate the players low on the depth charts, I'm not sure they'll all get the same amount of rev share. Of course, it could be there and I just missed it.
