I hope the shooter was arrested. His (or her but probably a guy, imo) actions indirectly lead to the death of the second driver. Can't be charged for that under the law but I hope he gets the max for the laws he broke himself. I hope your son's friend and everyone else are okay.

That will likely be what sets Mgbako apart from the other off-season snipers IU has had the past few years. While those guys could shoot well in practice, they certainly weren't fearless and that hurt them in games by keeping them from shooting as well they did in practice and/or not taking enough shots.

In the article, it states that the hearing is indeed in October. However, it also states that they hired an outside attorney to investigate the claims and her investigation was completed in July, so at that point it was no longer just a complaint. Between July and September, the only thing that has changed seems to be that it became public in September. At that point, the university almost immediately suspended him. The only reason he's suspended is because it's public. Either they had enough to suspend him and didn't or they suspended him without enough to do so but only to look good to the public. From the sounds of it, they probably would've been justified for suspending him merely for lying to the investigators. They're gutless and don't take this stuff seriously unless it becomes public.

Did anyone else notice the timeline here? December 2022 the complaint is made and an investigation is started. July 2023 the the investigation is finished. Only after it becomes public via a USA Today article in September is he suspended. MSU just doesn't change.

He hasn't even played a game and he's one of my favorite players. Same was true last year before he was even officially part of the team. It sounds like he works his a$$ off in the gym and tries to get others to do the same. Plus, he openly recruits other players. I think he definitely has the makings of a future coach.

Seeing people like Andrew Slater post the OV videos (not a retweet) makes me wonder how IU gets around the not talking/naming recruits violations with those videos. Maybe they just give them to the recruits and then the recruits not only post the videos themselves but give them to others to post? If IU is giving the videos to people like Slater to post I would think that would be a violation.

I read it as the NCAA was saying that through the actions it has and hasn't taken. They have harshly penalize paying players but look the other way when it comes to sexual harassment and sexual assault.

TJD and Thompson are probably in town to watch TJD's brother. I'm sure they'll help with the visits but I don't think that's the motivation to be there.
