IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates
Home Jersey replied to Lebowski's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Definitely possible he is declaring and staying in. He may have submitted the paperwork keeping in mind the deadline to drop out is February 7 IIRC. So, until he makes an announcement IMO, I think he's getting feedback / maybe trying to get a promise from a team that "if you're still there in round 2/3, we'll pick you" and weighing that against a probably very nice NIL offer here. Maybe I just don't want to give up hope yet. Wouldn't blame him one bit for going to the league. -
Domers hate being reminded of the fact nobody under the age of 40 can recall them ever winning a championship in their lifetime. Kills them that IU of all places did it before them. That tickles me.

My quick google search (could be wrong) tells me Hoover in 2024 had a PFF grade of 83.4 and this year 76.7

ND loses their DBs coach to the Ravens. He was considered a rising star and a good recruiter. Huge loss for them.

I feel confident enough in Hoover's arm. I haven't watched him enough to know what he's like as a runner... I know he has a ton of experience with RPO. After the title game, a lot of TCU fans were saying they could never imagine Hoover running like Fernando did or even thinking / having the awareness to dive for the TD like Fernando did. Obviously that was a super play by a super player... but we've been really spoiled by extremely smart QBs these past two years. And Mendoza's mobility made a big difference compared to Rourke, who was awesome in his own right. Obviously completely trust the staff and can't wait for next year. Should be another really fun one. Wild how CFP is the expectation in year 3. Cig is a miracle worker.

I REALLY hope Hoover can play like Mendoza and Rourke did here. Wonder how mobile he is? -

One underrated great thing about Cig is that with his personality, you know we're never going to get one of those goofy / awkward hype videos / photo shoots where the coach is dancing around the player (maybe a hyper specific reference to Brian Kelly lol) -
Ohio State hires Arthur Smith from the Steelers to be their next OC. Fans seem less than pleased.

Sometimes the best gets are the ones you already have. Smith and Tucker are definitely that. -

We are going to be filthy again next year. Seriously, start budgeting now and get ready to book travel and hotel for next year's CFP run, folks. -
Heismendoza - 2025 HEISMAN WINNER

There was a clip going around that was actually kind of alarming. Basically right after his TD dive, once he got on the sideline, he appeared to collapse very briefly. He was taking a beating. Gotta protect that brain of his. -

With as much roster turnover as we're going to have heading into next season, keeping guys like this around should really help set the tone for new joiners. -

The world is his oyster. I'm truly excited to see what Fernando does in life. I'm sure he will continue being great at anything he tries with the head he has on his shoulders. The Raiders better get him some great OL. I'd hate to see his career cut short like Luck's -
UConn football fans, all 5 of em, loved this guy.

All the blame belongs to the coaches and the AD. Fans who go overboard just aren't helping anything and make it a crappy experience for the targeted players. That contributes to stupid narratives about something being "wrong" with the fanbase. At our best, the IU fan base is amazing and we saw that in the CFP. The few bad apples make it a problem for the rest. Typical. No issue with people airing out their frustration on a message board.
