  1. Just saying, we could be a better team and not necessarily have a better record than we did this year. QB is the big question mark for me from that perspective but by all accounts Hoover is a proven power conference player and has a lot of experience with RPO. So I think Cig will get the best out of him. And he's got a ton of weapons in the WR room with I think very solid backs (maybe not as good as this year's?). I think it's possible we're better because our trenches on both sides of the ball are talented and pretty deep. We will definitely miss Fisher but I think Jones and Hardy will keep the unit more than solid. No replacing Ponds, but I think overall the secondary is pretty strong. Don't think we will see special teams take a step back given how much of a priority it was coming off the first year of Cig and how impactful they were for us. Bottom line for me is the culture is in great shape, the program has ample resources, and most importantly... we didn't lose Cig, Haines, or Shanahan. So I expect the well-oiled machine to keep on humming. Fully expect the team to play as hungry as ever. Thats part of their identity... root out complacency (I doubt any exists in that locker room tbh).
  2. Seems possible to me we may be even better next year. Coming off a 16-0 National title season, that should be scary for everyone else.
  3. The NFL will be littered with Hoosiers by the time Cig hangs it up.
  4. Where were you when Omar Cooper Jr made The Catch?
  5. I've been lurking one of their very popular boards for the lulz the past few weeks. The arrogance is insane. Baseless accusations of IU cheating, that we only win because of Cuban's money (LOL), this title is illegitimate since they weren't in the playoff, etc. But most funny is how they cling to their "blue chip ratio" and claim steadfastly that stars from recruiting services ACTUALLY matter. They don't. It's a new era and we just proved it. But they want the prestige (like they always do) and think it was smart to show guys like Coogan and Burnham the door because "they don't have high round pick potential like their back ups anyway." Okay... and that impacts winning at the collegiate level, how, exactly? Lol... they can keep sending an experienced vet or two down to Bloomington every year when the vets decide they want to actually win something I guess.
  6. Definitely possible he is declaring and staying in. He may have submitted the paperwork keeping in mind the deadline to drop out is February 7 IIRC. So, until he makes an announcement IMO, I think he's getting feedback / maybe trying to get a promise from a team that "if you're still there in round 2/3, we'll pick you" and weighing that against a probably very nice NIL offer here. Maybe I just don't want to give up hope yet. Wouldn't blame him one bit for going to the league.
  7. Domers hate being reminded of the fact nobody under the age of 40 can recall them ever winning a championship in their lifetime. Kills them that IU of all places did it before them. That tickles me.
  8. My quick google search (could be wrong) tells me Hoover in 2024 had a PFF grade of 83.4 and this year 76.7
  9. ND loses their DBs coach to the Ravens. He was considered a rising star and a good recruiter. Huge loss for them.
  10. I feel confident enough in Hoover's arm. I haven't watched him enough to know what he's like as a runner... I know he has a ton of experience with RPO. After the title game, a lot of TCU fans were saying they could never imagine Hoover running like Fernando did or even thinking / having the awareness to dive for the TD like Fernando did. Obviously that was a super play by a super player... but we've been really spoiled by extremely smart QBs these past two years. And Mendoza's mobility made a big difference compared to Rourke, who was awesome in his own right. Obviously completely trust the staff and can't wait for next year. Should be another really fun one. Wild how CFP is the expectation in year 3. Cig is a miracle worker.
  11. I REALLY hope Hoover can play like Mendoza and Rourke did here. Wonder how mobile he is?
  12. One underrated great thing about Cig is that with his personality, you know we're never going to get one of those goofy / awkward hype videos / photo shoots where the coach is dancing around the player (maybe a hyper specific reference to Brian Kelly lol)
  13. Ohio State hires Arthur Smith from the Steelers to be their next OC. Fans seem less than pleased.
  14. I missed it, what did Coop do? Lol
  15. Sometimes the best gets are the ones you already have. Smith and Tucker are definitely that.
  16. We are going to be filthy again next year. Seriously, start budgeting now and get ready to book travel and hotel for next year's CFP run, folks.
  17. Lol, did Enright yell "get that **** out of here" or was that Alexis
  18. This kind of whistle is definitely favorable for our team. Rutgers is so bad. Start Dorn please. That's all I got.
  19. Can we stick with this starting lineup? Just swap TC for Enright
  20. Lamar can't pick up that second foul like that. We foul way too much.
