Absolutely need a back up big who can play the 5. Doesn't have to be a stud but a competent player who can give you 15mpg or so if need be. Maybe a senior that doesn't project to get an NBA pay day. I know Lindsay is a combo guard that can slide to PG if Burton comes out, but I still think a back up pure point would be good to add to this group. Then I would probably leave the last scholarship open and see what happens. It would be cool to add a 3/4 that can rebound, shoot and defend the perimeter... but that's probably a lot to ask for with the last spot on the roster

He had a clear path to start next year with no other centers returning. He was told they would continue running their system of platooning the 5 man and he decided he didn't want to split minutes or compete for the chance to start. UConn fans feel like they upgraded with Hines.

Burton / Lindsay / Mustaf / Sherrell / Yigi is an interesting group of starters. How will the perimeter defense look? Thankfully this team will have some rim protection at least. And will Sherrell get into top shape / be able to function switching on the perimeter on D? The last 3 spots to fill will be interesting and as was said in the other thread, could define the team's ceiling... We need another big guy... Seems like some prefer a strong rebounding 3/4 or a big, big guy. Probably comes down to how many minutes you think are there for the 3rd big.

The 3rd big definitely could define the team's ceiling. Hopefully we have one last trick up our sleeve for that role.

I'd be fine with never seeing that account shared on here again since it's now shown to be run by an idiot or a child or an idiotic child. Not having Twitter is wonderful.

I think you can do one international trip every four years right? Maybe that rule changed, not sure. Totally agree, would be a lot of fun with this group especially considering they all could be here multiple seasons.

Agree on both points. Looking forward to a new look offense. Very curious how the defense will shape up... I'm not familiar enough with all these guys to project that. Should be considerably improved though, hopefully.

Back up PG and back up 4/5 may be all that's left to add... Staff has proven they were anything but "behind" on the portal. Tremendous kudos for giving us reason to get excited about year 2.

Do we think we still have a shot with Hall?

There's our combo guard. We clearly have some serious juice right now. Pretty awesome.

Jacob Furphy from UConn hits the portal. Could be an interesting one. Originally from Tasmania. Listed as a 6'6 SG, he played well for the German U19 team. Hardly got on the court this year. 3 years of eligibility. Ranked 100 out of HS. Athleticism a bit questionable (defense could be rough) but a good facilitator and can stretch the floor.

Maybe a guy like Del Jones from Radford. Two years of eligibility, started at Clemson

If/when Sherrell commits that makes 5 and leaves room for 4 more. 3 of the 4 pretty clearly will be: -Sharpshooting wing -Back up PG -Bench big I'd like the 4th to be a combo guard

Burton / Hall / Mustaf / Sherell / Yig with Harris as sixth man could be interesting. Definitely lots to figure out still but elated we seem to have a much improved foundation moving forward.

Hall is immediately target #1 once Sherrell announces IMO Back up PG Bench 4/5 Combo guard?

Would've liked to have him but understand him not wanting a bench role. Pleased to see the staff was prepared in case Sherrell reneged.

Seems the staff is too busy recruiting and making ish happen to toss any gossip crumbs to media / leakers
