  1. Isn't Big Ten + entirely a student run production I thought someone say?
  2. I wore out my welcome a long time ago! Now you guys are just stuck with me :-)
  3. Less than 8 hours until IUBB is here
  4. Think I'm sucking it up and paying $10/mo to watch the exhibition games and Kennessaw State... so pumped to watch! My totally baseless prediction... we start slow, maybe even close at halftime (within 10 points). Then we start to pull away based on pure talent disparity. Come away with a lot to work on but hopefully also a lot of reason to be optimistic about our ceiling... We all know there are going to be chemistry kinks to iron out. Would love to see big performances from Ware and Mack in a game like this. IU 75 Indy 62
  5. I'm really interested to see the lineups with Ware and Sparks on the court together. Lots of versatility Johnson/Gunn/Mgbako/Sparks/Ware Cupps/Gallo/Mgbako/Sparks/Ware Could be really interesting rotations.
  6. That's how I took it... @CoachSS I think you will find the vast majority of people here appreciate your insight... hope you stick around...
  7. Uhhh... thank you guys for recommending that guys update. I just got the PDF, holy cow.... I'm at the Gabe Cupps section and now way more pumped about his role this year. What a goldmine!
  8. I fully expect us to have a pretty bumpy start to the season... but it's all about when you hit your stride/peaking at the right time at the end of the day
  9. Am I totally drunk on the preseason Kool-Aid if I say that - until we play a few games, I'm not ready to admit the ceiling is anything less than a F4 run, where anything can happen? .....Not saying I think that's going to happen..... But until I actually see them play at least a single game, I willfully choose to believe this roster is talented enough and Woodson is a good enough coach, that we have that type of potential... and you never know how a season unfolds........ Is it a very likely scenario? Maybe not... Is it a long shot? It could be! Probably gonna be a lot of ups and downs this year... But if a fan can't dream, what's the point damn it! And yes, I've been an Indiana basketball fan long enough to have been hurt before. Plenty of times. Lol
  10. Awesome seats! Enjoy em brother
  11. Wondering if it'll be possible to just find a free stream on some sketchy website (ha) instead of paying for a year of BTN+ for... 3 mens games this year, right? Really want to catch the game live so probably gonna have to suck it up and pay the piper I guess
  12. A few thoughts (most of which already covered by you guys)... --- Kaleb and CJ taking a big step would be absolutely huge. That makes us a scary team, assuming... --- KW is the X factor IMO and biggest factor in determining what our ceiling is ... until I see him play a few games with us, tough to confidently assess anything. He doesn't have to be Trayce. I just hope he does his thing and Woody gets the most out of him. --- I always thought Kopp got an unwarranted amount of hate... he was underrated in a lot of small ways and, man, that guy has heart. Do think, as fans, we're going to miss him at times this year. Especially early on in the season defensively. --- Need Gallo and XJ to be rock solid this year... is it greedy to say even a step or two above that? I really hope XJ can be the good version of himself consistently this year... and I think he will. Gallo, the big question is keeping that 3P% at higher volume. And, ballhandling improved? I love watching that guy play. --- I think Cupps will be able to contribute in a limited back up role, similar minutes to Reneau last year... but we don't have a ton of depth in the backcourt. We need CJ to be ready and/or MM/KB ready to play at the 2 spot with a big line up for limited stretches of the game to rest Gallo. --- I'm really excited for Payton Sparks, Reneau, and Mack. How the frontcourt gels will be interesting. Chemistry is going to make the early stretch of the season, I think, tough to watch at times... hopefully they make the most of the scrimmages. --- UConn is our first real test of the season (hopefully.....) and I am SO pumped that I will be there!
  13. Now that this situation is essentially resolved, can we lock this thread before it becomes a debate on qualified immunity and taxpayers footing the bill for shoddy police work? Please? Lol
  14. Actually, I just bought a bunch of apparel through his NIL store. So he's gonna see a bunch of dimes (from me at least) that he can put toward that window :)
  15. Don't really know much about how reclassifying works but if he's got the OV set for March, wouldn't that seem to indicate he will be in decision mode in the spring maybe?
  16. Okay be honest, did you think Brad Stevens was coming here?
  17. Okay, those three exist. Now answer the 1st question. Lol. Wow, FCS level. You'd rather have an FCS head coach than ARE? How successful does the FCS coach have to be? The guy from NDSU? Would you rather have Will Muschamp or ARE, I'm genuinely curious now
  18. I will agree with you that Chryst would be a better hire... It's worth making the call.
  19. How many of those qualified coaches are likely to have any interest in coaching at IU? How many of those coaches exist? We are still talking about a position coach for one of the best NFL teams right now. Give the man his credit.
  20. Yeah, that's the ideal scenario... But if you believe it's a remote possibility one of those guys would come here, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you I seriously don't think they'd even pick up the phone for IU... Sad but true. Their agent would screen our calls. Lol.
  21. Realistically.......... what does IU football really have to lose at this point? We've got a major disparity in basically every category compared with the rest of the B10, not least of which is talent. Plus a million other headwinds. There is not a lot of infrastructure in place to support this program, let alone raise the standard. You're not getting any top tier coaches regardless - not a "proven winner" or "program builder" on the back end of their career. You're going to have a very tough time convincing someone with decent options to take a gamble on their career with IUFB. Anyone you do convince, is likely treating it as a stepping stone job and best you can realistically hope for, is that they put some of that necessary "hardware" in place (culture is most obvious... but even little things like dietary programs, workout programs, to bigger things like finessing the administration/boosters to help make us more attractive to recruits.... upgrade those facilities already please...). If you get that put in place and win a couple games - not a lot - and build recruiting momentum, that is realistically the best you can hope for IMO. And for as long as it takes to build, it can crumble overnight. Having a viable path to program continuity/stability (with a better product on the field) should be part of the planning in a search like this, when you're trying to basically start from scratch. Coordinators? Probably just as much of a gamble as ARE. An older coordinator coming from a winning program? Highly doubtful. A young up and comer? See above. What do they have on him? Playcalling experience? I think the best player in our program history who played years in the NFL can handle that... Sure ARE is not a household name for kids these days, but he can still probably relate to them better than 95% of other candidates. He knows Xs and Os well - probably better than most. So I guess the question is do you think he is able/willing to learn the college/program/admin side of things... because if so, isn't that worth the gamble? You're going to lose a ton of games no matter who you hire for the next 2-3 years no matter what. We need someone to breathe life into this program again. Realistic options are few and far between. We're already at rock bottom, so if you've got a high upside candidate who can bring excitement to the program and may be inclined to stick around a while, why not give it a shot? What's the worst that can happen... we stay where we already are for a few more seasons, then move on? No risk no reward. I'm not opposed to hiring a "better" candidate than ARE, but I have a hard time imagining us finding one willing to come...
  22. Who needs haters when you've got fans like IndyResident and Dakich! (assuming those are two different people...)
