  1. It pains me to say this, but can this season just end already?... I have no spirit left in me to watch this team. I can't even fathom next year without massive changes
  2. Ware gets so many of those kinds of goaltending calls
  3. We make Tominaga look like Reggie Miller
  4. The way these announcers are going on about the continuation. Damn we need a coach who can win back our national respect.
  5. No way we can do another year of this... right... right?
  6. But, with that approach, the cupboard is left bare for the next guy. Plus, relying on the portal to fill your entire roster leaves very little time to really evaluate and build relationships. We've seen how this year's chemistry looks... So if the roster needs to be build from scratch and we're not competitive with this staff and he's near retirement age (like it or not, it will be used as a negative on the recruiting trail)... why not hand over the reigns to the next guy and let him start with a clean slate?
  7. Nebraska eats our lunch this year.
  8. We just don't have any good answers. Fundamentally flawed from the start... from the top, down.
  9. I could do without watching all this PSU court storm. They can switch over now.
  10. PSU about to pull off the upset. Don't foul 3 point shooters.
  11. What does that have to do with Woodson coaching a terrible team and having no recruits coming in if McNeeley wants out? I don't see the point being made
  12. Loose fit for the thread, but I think some here will find this entertaining. The 2008 St. Anthony's team was stacked and had a camera crew following it all year. If you've got 2 mins 30 seconds, this clip from the documentary "The Street Stops Here" shows the practice from the day before the state championship. This would have been the first team Bob Hurley coached to not win a state title over a 4 year period if they lost. Here is a clip of Tyshawn Taylor (they messed it up in the title) talking about it years later. Pretty funny how memorable it was for him. He also has some funny observations on Danny Hurley. Bobby Hurley has made comments that RMK reminded him a lot of his dad.
  13. On this chart, they're in the 120s. Right now they're 118. IU 97. Ugly. No reason to believe it gets better. Rip the band aid off and salvage the legacy of these program giants. Even if they aren't ready to let go. Frankly, I believe that's the AD's job. Buckner in his role as BOT obviously Dolson can't control, but he can influence. Protect Woody from himself and preserve his place in Hoosier glory.
  14. So because they won 40 years ago, they're allowed to guide the program into the dumpster and lose now? Sorry but your last sentence is ridiculous for an IU fan to say Scotty. This isn't the program it used to be, you got that right. Guess the younger fans are supposed to be okay with that because the old school crew deserves their day in the sun? Give me a break. And I'm saying that as someone who goes easier on Woody than most
  15. Yeah, I will respect the fact that Woodson and Buckner are program legends. That doesn't at all entitle them to have free reign over the program - especially when they're not even putting us on a path to winning, let alone actually winning at a high level. Per this chart, that shows Team Success vs Attendance... other than Arkansas, there is not a more loyal fanbase receiving a worse product this year.
  16. Playing against him is going to suck.
  17. I will probably catch the first half tonight. But I'm not losing any sleep to watch this team lol
  18. It really feels like the bottom is falling out. Between all the losing (I'm expecting another tonight... at home... to Nebraska) and lack of momentum on the trail, I still think they'd need to feel an onslaught from the fans to take action. Keep writing emails ya'll. Lol. I think McNeeley is as good as gone.
  19. Cupps-Sparks PnR has to be good for AT LEAST 4 ppg.
  20. If I were an Xavier fan, Sean Miller would be sooo dead to me haha. He left for AZ the first time... fine... but then Xavier rehabilitated his career when nobody else would touch him. Then he's up and out at the soonest opportunity. Have to imagine this burns that bridge
  21. Yeah. Don't dispute that at all. But what he was doing is basically done openly now, and OSU has deep pockets. Seems like a good fit to me.
  22. Idk, Sean Miller had a pretty good machine humming at Arizona before everything hit the fan... could definitely see him recreating that in Columbus
  23. I don't think this is exactly groundbreaking "news" at this point, but Mackenzie has not been very well coached throughout his career. For the first 3 years of his HS career, he went to a small Catholic school that happens to have a pretty good basketball program. Dime a dozen coach - he got some talented players there but clearly does not teach fundamentals very effectively. Only in his senior year did he transfer to one of the NJ powerhouse programs and that coach is more of a recruiter than a developer of talent. His AAU team was, I believe, coached by DJ Wagner Sr. and it's AAU, so not a lot of teaching goes on. His size probably covered up a lot of deficiencies in his game. Not that the staff really spent much time evaluating him............. All this to say, it's very hard to navigate the basketball landscape if you're not being brought up in the right "tree" IMO. I'm sure they were excited by the idea of playing for a former NBA coach and trusted in his ability to set Mackenzie up for success. For some reason they seem(ed?) very set on him playing as a 3. Kind of weird for a family that does not have a deep understanding of the sport. I can't imagine they feel great about how this year has gone and think the typical move in these circumstances is to transfer so it looks like your poor play was more a product of being in a dumpster fire system and not about your own ability. Maybe Woody and him have a good enough relationship that he comes back, but I doubt it. That kid needs a sophomore year...somewhere. Ideally here. But no reason to wither away in the G League by leaving college now.
