  1. Imagine how much different the vibes would be if IU had signed Dusty May and Curt Cignetti in the same offseason. Would definitely have made me feel better about the direction of IUBB past this season. Don’t think our fans could be more pumped coming off this football season.
  2. Great thread idea. I look forward to the names shared here. One I think fits the criteria, Jimmy Crews Johnny Orr’s Michigan would provide IU its toughest test of the conference season (and perhaps the season overall), Feb 7. '76 in Bloomington. Indiana struggled offensively. The Wolverines took command of the game and led much of the way. Then Benson came through again. HAMMEL: (Michigan’s Steve Grote) had two free throws, missed them both. Bring it down, with about five seconds to go, Quinn, within the offense, he put up a shot from the top of the key. It was going out of bounds. About two-thirds of the way to the end line, Jimmy (Crews) dived in and threw it toward the direction of the basket. It was more of save than a shot, just a desperation-type thing. ABERNETHY: Jimmy Crews just batted it back toward the rim, and Kent laid it in. FISCHER: They had all the referees discussing whether the ball was tipped in (in time) and all that kind of stuff. The basket counted. And we went and beat the snot out of Michigan in the overtime. Just as they had against Kentucky, the Hoosiers dominated the overtime period, eventually winning 72-67.
  3. Oh my God. Totally shocking. So young. That’s horrible… RIP.
  4. Definitely not sour grapes (lmao)
  5. I wouldn’t mind if an Indy Star article dropped citing “a source in the athletic department” that Woody won’t be back next year. In the same way there was the surprise “announcement” he’d be coming back at the end of last season… just a vengeful fantasy though, won’t happen
  6. I forgot that you’re a mod here, Steub… oh wait… :)

  8. I think UConn appreciates and glorifies any player who helps them win a championship, regardless of where they’re from. Sure more people in Indiana would be excited about him at IU… doesn’t mean he’s gonna be “just another basketball player” at UConn, if he is successful. 5 stars get the king treatment everywhere. Agree he is passing on a unique opportunity to be an Indiana legend though
  9. In the sense that they both sell shirts, shoes, pants, etc. it’s the exact same stuff… doesn’t always necessarily fit the same. Sometimes the same sizes are cut differently by different manufacturers, so they sit on your body differently and fit differently. People have their own preferences, but a lot of people tend to prefer Nike. Younger people also find Nike “cooler” I guess, though I don’t really care that much about who our apparel comes from. This is not a topic I feel strongly about at all.
  10. Obviously want to win and hope they look great, but won’t read too much into the results of an October scrimmage. I just want to see the “new” offense in action and am hoping they look the part of a team that could continue improving to the point of being a threat for the B10 and national titles.
  11. We will learn a lot about our guards and defense. Zeigler is one of the best guards in the country. Their transfer Lanier could be really good too. Mgbako has an interesting match up with Dubar.
  12. First look is Sunday 3pm. 140 hours.
  13. Some amusing twitter discourse today RE: who would win - Notre Dame/ND at full strength vs. IU... Notre Dame fans are delusional. Such an inflated ego and view of themselves/their team lol. ND fans infest every corner of NJ, so it gives me great satisfaction knowing this team would smack them if they played. Too bad it likely won't happen since there is little chance ND makes the playoff IMO. Would love playing them there, though.
  14. I hadn’t realized he was the recruiting coordinator at Bama for Saban’s first class. He has the secret sauce in spades. Can’t get enough of the guy. Everyone loves a winner
  15. Sending out the bat signal for BGVille lol. Really hope he’s right … Would be so huge having Kurtis back. I want him to have a fair shot at the Heisman.
  16. Not having Rourke is a huge loss. Washington @ MSU Michigan Bye week Asking myself if TJ can do enough to beat those three teams with the team focused on rallying around him? He will do it in a different way than KR, but my answer to that question is yes. With a reasonable amount of certainty too… it won’t be easy but far from impossible. First true adversity for the team. They overcome that and get KR back after the bye week before OSU? I may still be drunk from yesterday’s win but I’m convinced that’s how it’ll happen. Lol
  17. Not super worried about Washington or MSU, even with Kurtis out, but do hope he gets back soon. Trust that the team will be ready to play. If we win the rest of the games that we should, I think IUFB is hosting a playoff game this year, fellas.
  18. It looked bad on TV. Hopefully it’s just next game.
  19. Damn. Time to go Tayven! Get healthy Kurtis!
  20. Well, they’re not. Because the nature of the sports are different. Hope that answers your question, go IUFB! Hope basketball makes us equally proud this year. We’ll see!!! Go Hoosiers baby
  21. Football is an entirely different animal. Trying to make a comparison between the two is clown stuff. And honestly unnecessary. Just let people enjoy IUFB without bringing in basketballs baggage.
