  1. The likelihood of a team stealing a bid from the AAC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac12 or SEC is pretty low. So assuming the A10, MWC and WCC are 1 bid leagues, then there are essentially 43 spots available because of no bid stealers from those conferences. No if we want to say that the A10 can get 2 in, MWC can get 2 and the WCC can get 3, then that’s going to make it 22 1-bid leagues and 46 spots essentially open. Only a bid stealer takes away one of those spots. And I’d say there are realistically about 50 or so teams playing for those spots. Including those that will win their conference tourneys. 2. What I meant was there are just 43 spots left if the WCC and MWC can’t get multiple bids. And I don’t doubt BYU and St. Mary’s getting a couple more losses in conference. Both are 3-2 and no one is getting an at large from that conference with 4-5 losses unless the field is just that weak this year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. Looking like there will be 25 1-bid conferences this season. Just with how it’s looking right now. Teams “in” for each conference. Only conferences with the possibility of two getting in would be the WCC if Gonzaga lost in the their conference tourney and the MWC is SDSU loses in theirs. That leaves 43 at large bids between the AAC, ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  6. Keep losing and it doesn’t matter who was injured. They still have to find 6 more wins just to get to 8-12 in conference. The committee might say they don’t look at conference record or overall record... but I don’t think they’ll look at any team that is 7-13 in conference. They had a great non conference. Not good good enough to carry a 6 game below .500 record into the tourney. 8-12 in conference puts them at 18-14 overall. Likely gets them in or at least strongly on the bubble. 8, 9, 10 wins will be a magic number for a few teams in the Big Ten this year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. Howard lead under one of the best coaches on the planet in Eric Spoelstra at Miami. It’s going to take him a couple years. If Archie gets 4-5 years, then so does Howard. And he’s never even coached at the collegiate level. Or been a head coach period. It’ll be interesting to see how he adapts over the next couple years. 8. Starting to be able to scratch and Michigan and Purdue from the NCAA tourney. NIT could be interesting this season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  9. And I’d say the same about NBA players. They are big babies and they get paid millions to play a game. I don’t care if a team is winning by 50 and does this. Play til the end. But no reason to taunt because that’s where a fight will start. And that’s what happened. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. How much of a threat is Duquesne to Dayton really? Both 5-0 in the A10. Dayton is 16-2 with losses to Kansas and Colorado. Duquesne is 15-2 with losses to UAB and took a butt kicking from Marshall. But I guess crazy things can happen. They won’t be an at large but anything can happen at conference tourney time. 12. Because even with him in the lineup the line was weak. Did anything change after he went down? Nope. Like stayed weak. We aren’t losing a Dan Feeney or Jason Spriggs type here. Just losing another lineman who was on the same level as the other lineman we have. It literally changes nothing. The line didn’t get worse or weaker because of it. It’s not a big loss. We did just fine without him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. The logic makes perfect sense. There is in fact a double standard. If you’re getting beat 22 you can either accept defeat and watch or accept and score another basket for sh!ts and giggles. KSU player chose the second route. I don’t care that De Sousa blocked it. He played 5 minutes last night so was probably trying to impress with a block along with being mad about the steal. But at that point he should have either let or go. Or blocked it and let the game end. He didn’t do either of those. The KSU player did nothing wrong unless you think that’s a legitimate “unwritten rule.” De Sousa didn’t do anything wrong until after the block. But he should have just let it go and let the kid have his 2 points and move on. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. At that point as a KU player you just let it go. It was a 1 or 2 point game. It was a 22 point game. It it’s not changing the outcome then let it go and let that kid feel good for scoring because you just destroyed his team. As for the kid that stole it, do it next time too if you can if you’re down 20. Okay to the horn but the KU players should have just said whatever and let it go. Because the points were meaningless. Instead De Sousa just adds to the joke of a collegiate career he’s had. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. I don’t see it as a big loss. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  16. One created by babies. Play to the horn. When you’re up 22, you’ve embarrassed the team enough. No need to taunt. Probably why De Sousa doesn’t play anyways. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. You’re up 22. If that kid wants to go score and make it 20 then so be it. Kansas player just got mad the kid stole it. NBA players are the same way. Get all pissy about crap like that. Things that won’t change the game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. KState player had every right to steal it. Kansas should have just let them score unless they had bets on the game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  21. It’s for you personally. Who you want to see. Mercer being good every year and winning their conference almost every year may not make college basketball as a whole great, but it will make it a little better for me. I’ll feel better anyways. So it is who YOU want to see good. Like Indiana and UCLA being Top 15 teams again or a team like Charlotte that I picked just because I remember them being good once when I was little. Or Connecticut being good again. It’s just what team you want to see be good that you feel would make college basketball better for you. Because that’s what you would like to see. 23. I included Davidson too. From ETSU’s conference, I chose Mercer just because I liked their jerseys when they beat Duke in 2014 or 2015. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. Basically what team or teams would you like to see be consistently good. Who you might feel that when they are good, college basketball is better because of it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  25. Indiana has moved back to #50 in the NET rankings. Nebraska has moved back to #170 which pushed the home win over them to a Q4 win. Northwestern and Louisiana Tech are both Q3 wins. Notre Dame and UConn are still Q2 and Florida State and Ohio State are still Q1. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
