  1. New article coming out soon. Just a fun one for no real reason. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  2. Things got extra stressful here. An infant under 1 died of Coronavirus in Illinois. My wife is now 39 weeks along and due next Sunday. We are holding out hope that the hospital doesn’t ban people being in the delivery room with her. I know as of now that Bloomington Hospital is allowing me in but I will not be allowed to leave the room for anything once I’m in there. I know we will need some prayers bringing a baby girl into this crazy world right now. Thank you and I’ll be praying for all of you too. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  3. First legitimate memory was at Hoosier Hysteria when AJ Guyton was still. Came up and gave a high five to my brother and his friend. But we also went to a couple of Atheltes in Action games back when that was a thing. I born a Hoosier but 2002 did get me hooked more than anything. Was raised on Knight basketball though. 4. In the right system you can make that work. But it’s literally only limited to being a very poor mans Montrezl Harrell. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. They should have just had him doing hand drills constantly. Just catching. That was such a huge problem for him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. This still available and going? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  7. I thought Eli Holman would have ended up being good. He was about averaged a double double at Detroit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  8. That could definitely bring up another list of players. Players we liked or felt should have been better. Nick Williams(transferred after Creans first year), Hanner Perea, Jeremy Hollowell, Max Hoetzl, Clifton Moore are a few of mine. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. Who would be some guys you all found super frustrating when they were on the floor? Like you always yelled at the TV like they could hear you? My list would include Donald Perry, who I was yelling at the TV this morning during the 02 Duke game. Troy Williams, who frustrated me and made me nervous. Just Smith obviously. I know my dad couldn’t stand Donald Perry, Jeremy Hollowell, Bracey Wright, Justin Smith, Verdell Jones, Remy Abell and some others. He’s got a guy every year he’ll yell at. But I swear if I yelled enough this morning that it would have traveled 18 years back and got to him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  10. I’ll have more hope for Archie if he makes the right tweaks needed. If not... same things that plagued us in season 1, will continue to plague us under him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  11. ELITE 8!!!! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. We can talk about in the NBA thread. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  14. Probably not. But that’s because I don’t want to work at that level. Its awful enough where I am already. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Could definitely see him going to any of those places. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. Does it? Really this is just a massive waste of time for so many people. Because every one of these kids will be told they aren’t ready and to work on some things that their coach should already be telling them. If you’re an underclassmen and you are on literally zero radars for the NBA, don’t waste anyone else’s time. How many players come back way better? Just look at the IU players that went and did it. Green, Durham and Smith. Did it help them any? Did they drastically improve anywhere? Nope. All still struggled with the main problem from the season before. Consistency. 17. You just get rid of the 2nd big and you open up that lane. That and a guy like Durham needs to shoot more than 3 from behind the arc a game. Which I’ve also mentioned. He needs to be shooting 6 at least. No reason to guard a guy on the 3pt line when he’s not likely to ever shoot it even. All of them obviously need to get to work on their 3’s. Durham, Smith, Hunter, Race, Franklin, Rob. Though right now with all of the isolation they need to be watching film and not just of themselves. But of old games. Archie should be making them watch games back from like 87’. And Archie probably should be too. I’ve only witnessed two successful offenses that have two guys on the block. A play my dad ran in AAU we called Iowa(double pick I came off of for open shots and worked into a bunch of other stuff and was continuous) and the Flex. But Archie’s is counterproductive and it has to be frustrating as a guard who wants to get to the basket, which Phinisee showed some flashes of the ability at times. 18. We had some open 3’s but we had zero open lanes to the basket. That’s the problem. How can a guy like Lander be successful with no driving lanes? And as for Hunter, what does him playing with his back to the basket have to do with playing the 4? You don’t have to do that anymore. Not in today’s game. 4’s now are just an extra perimeter guy. Like I said, Archie’s offense is stuck 40 years in the past. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. It isn’t for the 3pt shot. It’s for the driving lanes and pick and roll. It also didn’t help that we had just awful lineups in too often. Brunk and TJD should have never seen the floor together. We didn’t have good 3pt shooters, but could get inside. Phinisee isn’t great at getting past his man, but even when he did he was just running into Brunk and his defender. Just moving that guy out of the way helps. One lineup I don’t think we saw was Phinisee, Green, Durham, Race and TJD. Which would have likely been our best shooting 5. Though Hunter can play the 4 in college yet Archie never even tried it for whatever reason. Archie’s offense is based of the pick and roll and it’s pretty much ruined with his scheme. Maybe that’ll change next season which would be a huge help because Lander is a PG than Phinisee and more athletic. And our guys might actually be able to hit some shots if the are open because defenders would actually have to suck in because there wouldn’t be extra defenders in the paint. It’d also help Smith as he’d have more room to slash from the wing, whereas this past season there were always two bigs in the paint. The offense we run now probably would have worked back in the 70’s and 80’s. Nowadays, especially with a deeper 3pt line(meaning more room), you want to space people out. Not cluster them in. 20. Well I’ve posted on here before how the offense hurts itself. But I guess I’ll post it again. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. Old Friend responded to me and quoted what I said. So I responded to his questions. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. My feeling on Archie won’t change until I see him make necessary changes. I don’t think he was a good hire. Crean was all offense, no defense and people complained about defense and we overreacted and went all defense, no offense. I see that as a problem. Archie doesn’t want to seem to fix it. 23. Recruiting has been alright. TJD lived up to the hype. Romeo was good. Rob hasn’t lived up to the hype. Anderson was a miss. Franklin played okay seems to have potential to be a good backup. The 2020 class is his best one. I think Lander and Leal will be our best guards next season(apparently that’s bad positivity. Not allowed). Defense wasn’t bad. The problem people have is that Archie won’t consistently make adjustments. Like the hedging and giving up 3’s that hurt us so often. I really don’t care that we were better than “96.4%” of the country. We finished 11th in the Big Ten. And I know you like to bring up Green to blame but yet you never bring up Smith and Durham or Archie himself. Now what would I do differently if I were Archie? Well the biggest thing would be taking whatever he’s trying on offense and just tries it in the trash. The main play we run is a complete joke and a disgrace to basketball. Play a 4 out 1 in, actually give a guy like Smith room to make cuts and slashes into the paint. Give room for pick n rolls with Lander/Rob and TJD. Give room for drive and kicks. The moving out of the 3 point line should have given us more room yet the floor got even smaller for ya because of the offense we ran. We still have issues with guys just standing around, lazy passes, lazy pick n rolls, bad shooting etc. Still have problems of Archie not holding guys accountable and just running his mouth and never actually making any changes. There are still too many negatives and people see that. They may seem little, but it is hurting the success of the program. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. He was a bad move. Along with some others. Just par for the course for the Pacers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  25. Meh. Still the exact same players. Though Smith went from being our 3rd best player to our second best. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
