  1. That 2011-12 UK team was pretty darned good. And we get to say we beat them once and have them a heck of a game in the Sweet 16. But I don’t think they’ll be returning any Terrance Jones type talent. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. A lot of kids returning would make for a great college basketball season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. And he should return. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. About the way to stay at West Baden right now is if you’re golfing. They are keeping it pretty tight down there. French Lick is completely closed to all guest. Even I am not allowed back yet as an employee. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. I’d say 12-8 is pretty darned good! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. I’m just saying those teams aren’t good. Illinois is a likely tourney team without him, especially if Cockburn returns. Northwestern is just terrible. Georgetown is going to be terrible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. Smith has a chance depending on where he goes obviously. He goes to Illinois, he has a good shot. He goes to Northwestern or Georgetown, he has zero shot at it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. You say that, but Brunks worst part of the season was the end. As for Smith, he didn’t even dominate the cupcakes. His B1G stats were pretty close to his OOC stats. He was oddly consistent in that way. But his inconsistency within games will be something we won’t miss. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. Oh no. I said one player got worse... because he did. Which is why his minutes were getting cut. His minutes really started to get cut after the Purdue loss at home. Before then in 23 games he was playing 22.3 minutes, scoring 8 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and shooting 55.6% from the field and 52.2% from the FT line. The last 9 games of the season he only played more than 16 minutes once and that was 28 against Minnesota. In those 9 he played 12.8 mpg, scored 3.9 points, grabbed 2.9 rebounds, shot 40.5% from the floor and 10% from the FT line. He got worse and Archie saw it. 12. Well that’s odd. I’m in the BtownBanners app right now. I was getting the same gray screen yesterday though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  16. I agree. He did play hard and hit some clutch shots. But too many games he just didn’t show up. We needed him to be a scorer last season since Green wasn’t able to. We didn’t get that. Durham still acted like a timid role player too often. I think Franklin can be a better defender, and he shot 41.7% from 3 in the last 10 games he played last season. But he also only averaged 7.5 minutes a game and within that span didn’t play in 2. Durhams minutes are honestly more likely to be pulled from Lander being able to play the 2 if Rob can get any better at the 1. And Hunter being able to play the 3. 17. Because Durham was the exact same player this past season as he was his Sophomore year. Sure his numbers got better, but he didn’t change any. He’s still an inconsistent offensive player, inconsistent aggressive offensive player, inconsistent leader, reportedly an attitude problem along with Smith and a bad decision maker. He made a couple big plays in the clutch, but made stupid ones too. He feasted on the little guys at the beginning of the season(averaged 13.7 points, shot 42.3% from 3 and 90.1% from FT in the first 7 games). He was Al’s problem after those 1st 7 games, he scored 5 against FSU, 5 against ND, 2 against Arky, 5 against Maryland, 3 against OSU, 4 against Maryland, 5 against PSU, 5 against Purdue, 6 against Iowa and 2 against Purdue. Now we won some of those games, but he didn’t show up when we needed him. We were lucky enough Green went off against FSU. But was held to 5 or less in 9 games. Smith was held to the same in 5 games but we went 4-1 in those while going 4-6(also only scored 5 against SDSU). We had veteran guard with the consistency of a freshman. 18. Lander is a 5 star recruit for a reason. He easily has the potential to be our best guard next season. This isn’t like when Yogi came on board(which he was very very good as a freshman) and we had Oladipo and Hulls. Hunter as game changing ability too and he showed flashes of that last season. With his ability to knock down 3’s, some crafty offense and his length on defense. He’s only going to get better and that’s what everyone here has wanted. 19. Then that’s what we have to hope for right? Can Archie even get us at least 1 season 12-13 or even 15-16? We need to hope for that to happen. Personally I think we can win the Big Ten next season. But Archie can’t go back to doing what he did last season. We have game changers and guys with great potential in TJD, Hunter and Lander.
  20. I will be redoing my top college basketball teams of the past 20 years. Pretty much a given that Kansas will be #1 still but I guess that’ll happen you go like 16 for 20 in conference championships.
  21. He wanted to talk about the offense. Yet our offense hasn’t been good under Archie and he didn’t have any good offenses at Dayton. But I guess even Crean coached a good defense a couple times so maybe Archie will strike gold too.
  22. Our points per possession was 1.016 which was 112th in the nation. The year before it was 1.008 which was also 112th(which I found kinda funny). Archie’s first season we were 171st with 1.030 ppp. He needs to learn more than just one thing. He really needs to have an offensive mind of the bench. He is young so he can still learn if he wants to. But last year he kept just talking without any action. I see that as an issue. But with his ability to coach defense, he really just needs some basic offensive knowledge to succeed and he seems to not have that yet. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. He started in 9 at the very beginning of the season and the easiest portion of the season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. Now some coaches do have specific roles for players. But those are coaches who know offense. Archie doesn’t know offense, like at all. He’s never coached a great offense in his career. Which is why it’s not a surprise he’d misuse Smith, or play Brunk and TJD together so much, or say something like (our guys really aren’t bad shooting, even if the numbers say they are). 25. So Phinisee didn’t play point guard? Was that Durham? Or did Smith not play the 3 but Durham did? Durham play in his 2 spot basically all season, outside of the few games he was starting with Franklin. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
