2016 was such an odd season. Went in with crazy expectations with Bryant coming in, Yogi being a senior, JBJ beside Yogi for another year. Then Maui happened. And that was god awful. Then Duke happened. That was awful. We were 5-3 with losses to Wake Forest, UNLV and a 20 point beat down by Duke. A season we started out 15th. Not sure what happened after the Duke game, but we went on to win 12 straight, including our first 7 B1G games. But then we had the loss to Michigan in our first game of the B1G tourney. I didn’t expect to beat UNC by any means, so that’s whatever. Not with what they had on that team in Brice Johnson, Justin Jackson, Marcus Paige, Joel Berry, Kennedy Meeks, Isaiah Hicks. Cody’s time gets a little overlooked because of Crean, Vics rise and the dreadful Syracuse game. I just always felt like people didn’t appreciate him enough. But he played his role as the star. For anyone watching BTN today. I don’t know. Kinda boring. Could show newer games and not show the 2011 Kentucky game 1000 times a year. And especially not twice in 1 day. Sooooo many other great games. Against Michigan and Michigan St in 2013, 2008 at Illinois, I think like 2004 or something against MSU and Paul Davis that went into OT. The MSU game where Haston hot the buzzer beater. 2016 vs Maryland to clinch the Big Ten title. 2016 Iowa game. Soooo many and they show like 5 over and over and over. Smith had the huge block against MSU last season and I think a timely block and steal against PSU. Smith won us a few games with his defense. It’s something we will miss. But Hunters possible ability to do a little on both ends is big. His potential is big for us. He has the speed. He seems a little longer than Smith though. I don’t think he can be as good as Smith was, but will be helpful defensively at the 3. I think Hunter has that capability. He’s obviously nowhere near the athlete Smith was vertically, but Hunter has a lot of length and showed some good defensive spurts last season. We need him to become a poor mans De’Andre Hunter. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

And more power to Tom Allen. It’s a good thing. But I still thinks it’s a PR stunt, even if it’s one with good intentions. But he’s wanting to be seen and be seen doing something with good intention.
