Probably because Adam Silver and the rest running the NBA are basically brain dead. It's simple, want an entertaining All-Star game? MONEY. Offer massive money for the winner and the winner only. NBA makes how much a year? Well they made over 11 billion in revenue. Offer every player on the winning team 5 million a piece of their team wins. You'll see a game better than the NBA Finals. It'll be the biggest sports entertainment event of the year. Right now I think players on the winning team get $100,000 and losers get $25,000. $5,000,000 for the winner $0 for the loser. You'll see a fight like no other.

I don't think there is a massive difference between 6-25 at the moment.

Purdue is probably still a Top 15-20 team. And the Big Ten isn't good so that'll help them come conference time.

I love the argument of "Indiana plays bad teams" or "Every Top 25 team would be undefeated if they played that schedule." Yea well the majority of Top 25 teams have proven they can't beat all the mediocre teams they play.

I think it might be tougher in basketball. At least in football, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska all have history of winning in football right now. Minnesota has been a decent program for quite awhile now and have been good under Fleck. Minnesota in basketball though... The same can't be said outside of a few years. But it always just takes the right coach. Johnson isn't that guy obviously. But it's tough in basketball. And especially in a conference with basketball brands like Indiana, UCLA, Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Oregon. I mean the same can be said in football. But you're right, a head coach means a lot. There is a fine line between what a good coach can do with less and what a bad coach can do with more. Right now Minnesota is on the wrong side of the graph with bad coach/bad talent.

It is that bad of a job with 18 teams in the conference now.
