  1. I've put my official prediction out there. Caleb Love commits next Friday. Giving Indiana arguably the best defensive backcourt in the B1G.
  2. Well the thing about Dickinson is that he can shoot from the perimeter. So that helps spacing wise for anyone.. but he could be looking to get out of the B1G entirely. And if he's tired of the mauling.. I don't see how going to another B1G school or even a Big East school would make sense.
  3. I know that. I'd just take him.
  4. Gunn is definitely an intriguing prospect. Athletic and a good looking jumpshot and lots of confidence. Once he gets the speed of the game down, he could be really good. Defensively he has a crazy ount of potential. Could be a really good 3-and-D guy for us that can play the 2 and 3. Honestly would like to see him play the 3.
  5. When Devin Askew is arguably your best player... You're gonna have issues.
  6. It's not just anyone... It's former 2x First Team Pac10 and 2x NBA CHAMPION... MARK MADSEN.
  7. "Did you see what TJD did last season. There ya go."
  8. I'd totally roll out a starting 5 of Xavier Johnson Caleb Love Trey Galloway Malik Reneau Hunter Dickinson
  9. I'd take him. But I'd still call him names lol. But if he wants to leave the B1G... St. John's is the place.
  10. Yea... I don't like it. I don't want him any higher than 4th on the list of ball handlers. We have to be in a rough spot. Why we need a guy like Caleb Love and for Cupps to be ready to give 10 minutes. If Gallo can stick to playing the 3, we are in a much better spot than him playing the 2. His biggest on defense was guys quicker than him, which got him into foul trouble. When we played UNC, he mainly played at the 3. I am fine with Gallo starting at the 3. Even if we got Battle. Ledlum would start over him though.
  11. Hes been forced into that. It isn't where he belongs at all. He's a 3. Someone best making plays in the half court when the ball has been swung around and the defense is off balance. We've just not had any guards since he's been here past Johnson and JHS.
  12. TJD also wasn't a Top 20 pick and potential lottery pick.
  13. Well that's you. He was horrid to end the season. And I don't think it had anything to do with respecting his shooting, they knew he sure as hell wasn't going to drive the ball at any point. Offensively we played 4 on 5 with him on the floor. Kid has loads of potential, but he wasn't reaching anywhere near it at IU.
  14. Poorly would be an understatement. For whatever reason, after the first Penn State game, Bates shot 25.6% from the field and 19% from 3 and averaged3.5 points. That even includes his Michigan State and 2nd Penn State games. In which he scored 17 and 14 in. He put 0's in 9 of those last 10 games. Take out the MSU and PSU game, he shot 16.1%(10-62) from the field and 20.7%(6-29 actually went up by a 1%). He was downright god awful shooting the ball. So yea... I think Leal could have went out and put up the same production, if not better.
  15. Sure, but at some point, someone's actual game performance has to matter more than practice. You can argue Tamar didn't belong on the floor at all towards the end of the season. Leal could have missed every shot he threw up too.
  16. Definitely more of a vertical threat... But compared to Reneau, many are.
  17. He played 232 minutes in 20 games his freshman year. Played 173 minutes in 17 games his Sophomore year. He started 2 games actually. This year he played 24 minutes in 11 games. He started against Northern Kentucky, played 2w minutes and scored 5 points, has 5 assists, 4 rebounds, a steal, a turnover and a foul. The other was the Northwestern game where he played 34 minutes and scored 5 points, had 4 assists, 3 rebounds, a turnover and 3 fouls. I thought he's played pretty well anytime he's actually gotten to play with the main rotation. The biggest thing for me is that he hustles and the ball never sticks in his hands.
  18. I wonder... I we are going after another big man with Shedrick and Ware... Does the staff have Reneau slim down and work on his speed and agility to play the 4? If he can hit 3s at 30% or better next season, he's going to be a good spot as a stretch 4 where you at least have to respect him shooting a little.
  19. Pretty sure the only time I seen him on the floor, I saw the ugliest jumpshot in CBB.
  20. Leal can without a doubt play the 3 in college. He's 6-4 and strong. He may not be insanely quick, but neither is Ethan Morton and he's a good defender just because he knows how to play. Yea Leal is slow, but he's smart enough to figure things out and become a good enough defender with playing time. Woody played Gunn and he literally couldn't hit water if he were swimming in the ocean. Leal just hasn't gotten that shot. His freshman year he actually showed flashes of being a good role player. Hell there were times his freshman year where our best lineups had Leal, Lander, Galloway and Geronimo in... Wild times those were.
  21. Yea I don't believe any narrative that's "he not any good" I can guarantee he'd become a fan favorite on the floor and he could actually play the 3 with how strong he is. He's the AJ Moye strength type. Maybe stronger.
  22. I'd argue we have literally zero clue what kind of shooter he could become because he never plays.
  23. Unless.... We got him that much in NIL... Just sayin...
