  1. No. But it's really the only spot he'd actually make a team better in.
  2. That's the kind of dude you have come in to be the backup point guard.
  3. Oddly enough... I actually liked Hoetzel. He definitely would have been better off on the 12 or 13 team or even the 16 team. Him, Hanner and Which Hand? Stan transferred out... Then we win the B1G. But I do think Hoetzel could have thrived more the year after. He was definitely a good shooter. Oddly enough, he was probably a better shooter than anyone SDSU had on the team this year.
  4. But we can be real... April > Priller/Gelon
  5. Wasn't good... But 1000% guarantee this board and I 1000% know Inside the Hall boards(because I was probably banned shortly after both lol) that Gelon and Even Priller were going to be good and contribute by their Junior and Senior years... That was a legitimate belief.
  6. I don't know about diamond in the rough. He and Armaan Franklin were the two SGs of that class. Everyone here was saying how much better Franklin was and would be for IU... 4 years later... Well.. yup. Right situation and Newman can average 15+ ppg without any doubt.
  7. I think he'd kill it playing for Shrewsberry.
  8. I mean... I'd actually not mind him... But that's just me. Like if we got Knecht, Ware/Shedrick, Battle/Ledlum and Newman... I'd consider that a good haul. He's a guy who can shoot, even if his percentages don't necessarily scream it.
  9. I see him going Big East. St. John's or UConn.
  10. Might as well take both. Ain't like Bates is starting over Love.
  11. I don't think it'll be down. Bottom will probably be similar. The top definitely stronger.
  12. I don't think we end up with this either. But I can dream. And then try and find the positives where I can with what we get. Even if the positive is looking forward to the following season.
  13. Refresher on my DREAM gets now... Because it's going to change more than my wife's mood in a day. Sparks is filled so we have 4 spots left. What I want in those 4 spots... Cause I'll show you what I want. What I really, really want(lol). Kel'el Ware Dalton Knecht Andrew Rohde Jamison Battle Giving us a depth chart around here... PG- Xavier Johnson, Gabe Cupps SG- Dalton Knecht, Trey Galloway, CJ Gunn, Jakai Newton SF- Andrew Rohde, Trey Galloway, Kaleb Banks, Anthony Leal PF- Malik Reneau, Jamison Battle, Kaleb Banks C- Kel'el Ware, Payton Sparks Where could that get us? I don't know. I'm thinking like a 7-10 seed area which I'd be perfectly fine with. Probably a Top 7-9 finish in the Big Ten.
  14. I'm confused why I'm the positive one around here.
  15. More swag as a program, Under Armour, nice arena to play in... Shiny stuff.
  16. I'm really just waiting to drop that garbage. Dropped the dead weight that was the Crossroads Classic and ACC/B1G Challenge. This is the last one left before Indiana has 100% schedule flexibility in the non conference. Where it needs to be when you have 21+ games already forced upon us.
  17. So this is happening November 19-20. Last around that time we played @Xavier on November 18th and Miami(OH) on November 20th. So it seems we won't be having a Big East opponent. About time for the staff to be getting something done with at least one more team between this event and the Kansas game.
  18. I mean how many players have entered the portal so far? How many are really good? Quite a few. And quite a few guards that are really good. And plenty of serviceable big men. We got this right? Right.
  19. I see things have really went down hill here without any news... Either way... Caleb Love Kadin Shedrick Jamison Battle Chris Ledlum ... I think we can get a couple of these dudes still and there are a ton of fish in the sea y'all. Lots of good players to go after still.
  20. That's why I said UCLA could even have their own category. It isn't necessarily a tiered system. Just category within the tiers.
  21. I get why people include. I just don't. And it's not that they aren't on that level historically, it's just a difference in the history itself. Where Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC and UCLA were pioneers and trailblazers of college basketball, Duke without any doubt has a much different history and not that of a Blue Blood. And honestly, UCLA could even have their own category. Indiana has the historical success that makes them a Blue Blood and even fun tidbits that improved the game like being the first program ever to use glass backboards.
  22. That'd be quite the interesting category. Like almost blips in history. Villanova also interesting. They have 3 titles but probably more in the category with MSU, Louisville, Cause and them. Not quite Duke and UConn. Though Wright was on track to join that I think.
  23. Well luckily for us, being a Blue Blood is a historical thing. So for me... And I've seen zero titles and only 1 final four... Blue Bloods: Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA The Dukes: Duke, UConn I consider Blue Bloods the pioneers if the game. Programs that have been there since the beginning of the birth of modern day college basketball (1939). I put Duke and UConn in separate categories. If UConn wins tonight... They would have won their 5 titles in a 24 year span. From 1999-2023. Duke also won their 5 titles in a 24 span from 1991-2015. But both weren't exactly trailblazers of the sort, they are relatively new but also great programs that were built. So for me, they get a whole category themselves. There would be another category of some sort of the likes of Louisville, Michigan State, Michigan, Syracuse, Arizona, Ohio State etc.
  24. According to my sources, we will be getting a commitment from someone we've offered a scholarship to within the next 3 years.
