  1. Hypothetically what would you do in this scenario as the AD at IU?..... IU misses the NIT Micah Shrewsberry wins the ACC tournament and makes it to the tournament and wins a game Dusty May makes a S16, E8, or FF Bruce Pearl makes a E8, or FF Chris Beard makes Rnd 32, or S16 Nate Oats makes S16 Purdue wins the national championship or makes it to the Title game Edit: Adding in Assume that the following Jobs open up at the end of this March: Louisville, UK, OSU, Louisville, and Michigan ____________________________ What moves are you making assuming all of the above happens?
  2. I'm 33, grew up in southern Indiana... My family was not sports fans, and I was the first one to go to IU in my family. I went to IU from 09-13.... I was not even a fan until the 2011 team. Both of my brothers went to UofL, and I have a lot of friends that are fans of UK. So I feel I have an interesting perspective, that takes into consideration how others view IU. I've never experienced IU being a legitimate nationally prominent program. Even in 2013 I remember my brother saying "dude Crean is your coach, you're not winning anything this year"... I stopped watching during the Archie years because it was too sad to watch. Plain and simple, IU has not had a legitimate coach at the helm since Knight. We also haven't had a legitimate AD since Greenspan. and there are foundational cracks. We need a leader that can rally the fans and rally the administration to get on board. This can all be solved with one coach with a vision for the program that will comb over every detail of the program. Uniforms an issue? okay coach will solve it. Non-con an issue? okay coach will solve it? Bad practice facility? okay coach will solve it. I have 0 faith that the Admin or coaches are capable of doing anything outside of coaching that our program needs. Program needs a facelift badly that exceeds far beyond the style of play... Been saying it for years...
  3. Ya and I know the cupcakes he scheduled was a Fred Glass issue by not giving him a string budget to schedule
  4. With our history, we'll add 6 front-court players. Probably run a 5 center line-up
  5. I've seen a lot of "we can't fire Woody in year 3 because you can't just keep firing coaching every 3 years... Where's the stability"..... Stability comes from having built a strong foundation in the program. A program with a strong foundation can plug a new coach like Kevin Ollie and he can win a National Championship, fire him, and a new coach comes in and wins another national championship. Same with UNC. How do you build a strong foundation without a practice schedule? Tom Crean could have coached at IU for 40 years and regardless of when he leaves its a "total rebuild" for the next coach. When Archie was hired he had to rebuild the way IU schedules and budgets for non-conference games. That's just 1 of 100's of things that are the makeup of a program. We have cracks in the foundation of the program as a whole, we're a losing program/business and it permeates every aspect at which we operate. Thats why its always a rebuild for indiana, we haven't had a coach to make the necessary program changes or an AD to hold anyone accountable for foundational stability. Do we expect mike woodson to care about the smallest details and take full ownership and build out a program and then communicate his vision on what he's changing to the fanbase? No. We need a coach who wants total control and ownership of the program and runs it like the CEO. Whatever coach can come in point out what we're doing wrong and be a control freak to fix it and build a solid foundation is the one I want.
  6. Out on McDermott, replace him with Beard, and add May to the list and I'm in
  7. Why would we even offer Queen? So we can play 2 bigs again???? At what point do we scrap it? Seems like our options are, give him 1more year to figure it out and completely change EVERYTHING abut his system, or make a move for someone new... Given I think Shertz, May, Beard, and Shrews... All of whom I think were better than Holtmann, Archie, and Mack during our last search... Why wait one year for the inevitable?
  8. He can’t shoot, and he continues to shoot long 2’s
  9. CJ Gunn might be the worst player I’ve ever seen get meaningful minutes in an IU uniform…
  10. Ya but theres evidence to suggest over a long period that is how Isiah and Bucker operate.. LOL
  11. 82 to 9 to 3 to 63..... Then 48 to 11 to 44... What a Hot and Cold Roller Coaster. For additional Comparison (most recent years): Sampson: (62, 52, 18, 12, 14, 5, 2, 2, 1) Dusty May: (181, 129, 17, 28) Beard: (41, 11, 5, 21, 17, 15, 60) Josh Shertz (230, 100, 34) Painter (9, 19, 5, 9, 24, 25, 14, 7, 2) I also took a look at most great coaches... They all seem to be pretty consistent...
  12. Unfortunately I believe Woodson will fall victim to Fred Glass' doing. What I mean by that, and insiders correct me if I'm wrong... Indiana post Sampson and under Glass, had no structure or foundation in place to swap coaches. When Crean left it was a rebuild, when archie left it was a rebuild.... Its obvious that Glass left some foundational things to be desired and that a coach is going to have to take total control of the program and fix way more than what would be needed at a conventional P5 job. I'm not sure Woodson is passionate about making it "His" program, and the foundation isn't strong enough for what he's attempting to do. Remember this is the program Fred Built over 10 years. I'm just saying I think its unfair to blame all of this on Woodson, at least 20-30% should be shouldered on Fred Glass and his lack of program controls
  13. I just checked… how was he still given 2 years after that!!???
  14. I remember hearing from someone that Archie’s defense would take 4 years to implement… I think Archie was pretty bad. In fact I’m not sure he’ll ever coach a team in the top 25 of KenPom
  15. Interesting that Crean was Hot and Cold, which is how his teams played during the season, and his tenure as a whole. interesting Archies teams no one really liked and everyone was uncomfortable in the situation interesting that Sampsons teams were fun to watch but no one trusted and ended up getting burned badly Interesting Davis was a ton of fun and had one of the most fun season of IUBB Interesting that Woodson has been called low energy and his teams at time reflect that. My take: the program is a direct reflection of the head coach and the admin has yet to understand that
  16. Let’s not forget Crean ran off MattRoth who was a 40+% shooter from 3 in favor of hanner perea and Peter jerkin… when we needed a 3pt specialist to break the zone.. karma I guess. someone posted about the intangibles of bring the IU coach (being involved in the community, coaching clinics, video messages and shows, teaching fans how to watch the game, etc) Archie embodied none of those qualities so he should have never been hired. I would have rather had Mike Woodson and Larry Brown as coaches instead of Archie. boy does glass have an ego
  17. Man timing is everything. If the Louisville and Osu jobs open up, it would be hard for May or Scherz to turn down. IU is once again left at the alter.
  18. No not because of Wisky. I’m reading off body language and him being on the bench. Also he’s what a 10-50 (20%) career 3pt shooter. I’m not sure there’s potential for him here.
  19. Who’s in a worse position right now, Indiana or Louisville? I might argue Indiana
  20. My complaint. Gonna probably the heat for this…. You can’t start 2 centers and be successful. We can’t have both Ware and Reneau in the floor at the same time. clogs up the lane…makes each center less effective, makes the guards less effective and creates a terrible offense with no spacing or movement. I think CJ and XJ should have been kicked off the team. I would imagine they are a locker room distraction. Reminds me of Hanner Perea when he was a cancer to the team.
  21. Coach K, Chris Beard, Dusty May… TBD on Mike Lewis
  22. No he wanted Alford when the idiots hired Archie
  23. As an AD you have to build trust with your president that you know what you’re doing and that the president has to get in line. Not sure dolson commands any respect
  24. Greenspan was amazing at hires… Tracy smith, Sampson, few others, fired Davis.. built cook hall, enclosed the north end zone… just didn’t have anything in place to help safeguard from a Sampson implosion.
