And he has got the team clicking in March, 3 game win streak and likely great seeding and path in the BTT to make a run and make the tourney a third straight year. I fully understand that this is a tightrope and one mistake over the next 2 weeks kills hope for a tourney run. Another note on Woody: just to be positive if in fact he’s retained…. he did go out into the portal and get like 80-90% of the production of TJD and JHS, so he could in fact do it a second year with Ware and XJ… (I’m not going to talk about him not replacing Kopps production) When Calipari first came to Kentucky he went with the groundbreaking 1 and done model. No other P5 coach I believe will be doing Woodys approach of tenured portal players who can contribute immediately. Either woody is a trailblazer, or there’s a reason he’s all alone here.

So here’s my issue with all of this: What is Mike Woodsons Offensive and Defensive Strategies? Without a clear direction and strategy, he’s going to over pay for pieces. and what are those pieces? Is he telling his staff I want a point guard that has these qualities, I think Joe Bob from Montana state fits perfect let’s get him. Or is it I’m gonna wait and see who’s the most talented and over pay.. there’s a proactive strategy with Joe Bob, and reactive with the latter. What kind of player does he want at the point? He spend how many years and resources on Gabe Cupps and XJ. Two completely stylistically different players which tells me he has no clue what player he wants to plug into his system. You could give Woodson $100 Million and it would be the same result. He has no idea how he wants his pieces to stylistically fit together. He’s going to over pay for redundant skill sets and egos will be hurt, discipline will suffer, losses will pile up.

If we hired May I think we could get the entire FAU team to come here and we’d be in great shape over night

Bad Week to be Mike Woodson

I've been preaching for a few years now that the IU fanbase is so rabid that we need our head coach to have fireside chats like pearl did at Texas Tech and Texas. He sits down talks to Matthew McConaughey, brings on guests and gets really detailed... Right now we have obfuscation, fans have no idea if there's a strategy in place, and simply DON'T TRUST whats happening behind the scenes. I think a fireside chat would be impossible for Woodson because there is no strategy... But the next coach can learn from Woody's mistakes.

Do I understand Glass’ tenure correctly? - Hired because power vacuum filled by Aussie / Gonso (no other schools would have sniffed him) - Didn’t fire Tom in 2011 after year 3 of Crean was worse than year 2 to hire Stevens - Extended Crean, outbidding only ourselves in 2013, and thus unable to fire after the Syracuse loss and losing out again with Brad Stevens - Was still unable to evaluate Creans tenure and may have been forced to fire Crean? (That’s scary) - Disrespectful to old IU guard, thus leading us to being forced to hire Woodson years later -Poor evaluation of Archie during interviews -Missed 7 of 11 tournaments for bball under his tenure - Skimped on budget leading to poor seeding in 2016, Apr issues / bill of rights unable to bring McKinley Wright… also hamstrung us with recruits - IU pays $24.5M to fire all of his hires. 2X football coaches fired 2X Basketball coaches fired - Wrote a book after he was let go that he rebuilt Indiana athletics - 3 years after he left almost every program gets immediately better, basketball still in the thick of the mess that he created. 10 years of the Aussie and Glass and we’re still feeling the impact today.
