Hold up hold up hold up…. Had Fred Glass or anyone actually understood the job at IU and had a 5 min conversation with Archie they would realize he’s a terrible fit…. Hiring a terrible fit when it’s obvious that he fails at what I would argue is second to winning, which is being the spokesperson for IUBB… While I think Woodson is a terrible coach, that hire was better. He checked off “former player”, dealt with NBA which could bode well for the NIL era, got us to the tourney, got talent to IU. You can make an argument that Woodson could do better at IU vs Archie if you were interviewing both at the same time Archie was a worse hire, way worse

@Chris007 will we hear if it was a definitive no from Stevens then?

If Brad is still mulling over the offer, but says no in the next couple of days, will we get leaks he’s off the table?

I’ve been wondering if this search doesn’t go off the rails and wind up back to Woodson

What’s left to workout I wonder? Also weird Dusty signed the extension as leaks were saying that wouldn’t happen until season is over / IU off the table. this whole search has been weird to me. Somethinhg feels off

Based on what SS said today in the Trilly chat…. Sounds like 1 of 2 possibilities. 1. Dolson fired woody because he has his guy and has been working for about a year behind the scenes very calculated and nothing is leaking, like how Cig was only mentioned right before the announcement (Stevens). 2. Stevens said “no”, Dusty May unexpectedly said “no”, and were on candidate 3 Drew, and if he says “no” then it moves to the Otz and Mccollum types. 3. If we get 1-4 more “no”s then this could end badly unless we hold our noses and hire beard

Thats what makes the search the most interesting... when the Stevens rumors started he couldn't find one source. Said it was coming from the IU side, but couldn't corroborate anything with NBA guys, agents, etc. It feels eerily quiet. Like when we hired Archie it was very clearly 1 of 5 candidates. right now its not a peep. The Stevens denial left a sliver of hope.

So Rabby is consistently saying that there's no secret deal with a coach, there's no way its stevens, that he's completely ruled out. Trilly says he hasn't heard much but doesn't think its stevens and thinks its a current coach coaching.. Do we really believe we got stevens?

Side note - I've been holding strong on Beard for like 6 years now LMAO
