  1. I feel bad for Leal. He has talent. His last 2 coaches were Archie and Woodson. So sad. Beard turns us into a national contender in 12 months if we can handle the extra risk Please Dusty may I’m praying you have a good tourney in March
  2. Sorry but Buckner will be making our next hire as well
  3. If fans can see this, why doesn’t the admin? Why wait?
  4. IU Admin in 2010-2011 we can’t fire Crean and make a move on Stevens because we have a huge recruit coming in. Buckner Glass hire Archie Buckner and Isiah hire Woody IU admin in 2023 we can’t fire woody and make a move on (May/Beard) because we have a huge recruit coming in. Years later Buckner (hires insert bad hire)
  5. Even if we fire him Buckner and Isiah are going to make our next hire… we’ll be back here in 12 months
  6. I meant not if the team takes a step back, rather. If you remove yourself and look at the Macro, does IU really have a strategy, or it a scramble lets figure this out year over year? Purdue seems to have a system and strategy and they recruit to it. Not sure we have anything defined at the moment
  7. I hear you, but if you take a step back, is there really a "strategy" at play, or just more of "scramble" every year?
  8. For #3 at any point in the last 3 years have you ever said “wow we’re building something special here”? I don’t hate the Woodson hire. I am simply expressing frustrations from of a place a FEAR that Isiah who is widely regarded as one of, if not the, worst nba exec in the last 20 years is running our program from behind close doors. Therefore i’m looking at anything that would disrupt the narrative. I want to be proven wrong. Thats why I’m asking for any sliver of hope that we interviewed other candidates and had a strategy vs blindly just hiring someone’s buddy
  9. Didn’t Fred Glass meet with Buckner every day when they hired Archie?
  10. That’s just what I find bizarre. The straight Brad says no so we go straight to Woodson… was there a Porter Moser or Chris Beard in that process that told us heck no? If so that would make me feel slightly better
  11. I mean that’s typical even for the business I’m in. Multiple interviews, your boss needs to sign off etc. It just feels like it wasn’t Dolson’s decision at all. We’re the only 2 candidates really just Stevens and Woodson? Was there not one other coach in contention?
  12. My Question is why was Dolson not allowed to have full control of the decision?
  13. I still remember at the height of the financial crisis he gave a speech on how families should sacrifice financially to send their kids to IU because the education was worth it.... Only to announce a $1M raise shortly thereafter... Then after receiving backlash he announced that summer classes would get a minor discount. Or how he drained IU's emergency fund to move the bell tower, only to face an actual emergency (Covid) shortly thereafter. Or how he... Amazing what happens when your president and AD and college basketball coach get fired and leave a power vacuum. You're left with McRobbie and Glass and Crean.
  14. Who was the coach?
  15. Haha I mean no harm in saying like “defensively we’re trying to get to X but we’re doing Y, Hoosier nation we’ll be running drills until this kids puke, we’ll get it fixed” then maybe this thread never pops up
  16. We can’t get rid of Buckner, because of that we can’t get rid of Dolson or Woodson, and because of Buckner we can’t hire a change agent coach? Is that safe to assume? maybe it wasn’t shoulders, Mcrobbie, Gonso or glass all along..
  17. The issue is the admin and program don’t know how to communicate with its fans… or communicate to potential. Coaches. Our coaching staff says “ we’ve got to get over the hump” which does more harm than good when your target audience is very knowledgeable and is on twitter arguing drop coverage vs blitz on a PNR. Just for once I want someone on this coaching staff and athletic department to speak the truth. Just come out and say, Woodson has no strategic vision for the program so we’re moving on and hiring someone who does.
  18. Who watches the watchmen… I mean who holds Buckner Accountable??
  19. I don’t think it’s as much of forcing Dolsons hand as it is propping up a puppet in Dolson and he never had authority to begin with. “We control you scott, do as your told or you’ll be replaced”
  20. Another complaint.... I HATE when media talks about how IU is a pressure cooker because of the fans, the fans aren't realistic, its a fish bowl etc. Why is it framed in the negative? Wish they would instead frame it as: The coach here has the opportunity not only to lead the team, but to lead thousands and thousands of fans and get overwhelming fan support. It clearly can be an asset. You just need a coach that has the ego and wants to pretty much lead a nation... (Hoosier Nation). Some guys have it, some guys don't.
  21. I am a glutton for punishment... I listened to the Eye on CBB podcast episodes last night after the firing of Tom Crean and Archie. Interesting that before Archie was fired Matt Norlander was saying some coaches had been approached in a "if there was an opening would you be interested"... Did every coach turn us down? or was it really all in on Stevens, he says no and now we scramble?
  22. This post will probably get hate, but what I’ve been preaching is that in order to have a championship level program. Every detail matters. EVERY SINGLE ONE. No surprise here that it’s coming from Chris Beards program. https://x.com/cbbroundup/status/1752529613861921242?s=46&t=GNOEavceU8cQkgwtjpMssw
  23. And why was that? Because of our coach at the time? I'm just sayin from 2000-2008 there was enough talent IU missed out on that could have led to sustained success and another Natty
  24. Crean did that in like 2015 when he supposedly had the Alabama job lined up. Not sure if anyone remembers those bizarre interviews he did. When he was fired, he said his biggest regret was not hiring a PR firm to temper the expectations for 2014. If that’s your strategy then you’re not a good fit at Indiana.
  25. Man talk about self inflicted.... Life's about balance... I always said Crean would literally be the best assistant in the NCAA. But as the head coach he's out of balance.... You need stability as a person first before you can have stability in a program...
