Bit of a “let down” after some big crowds and big opponents this week. Hope they turn it up and don’t let the hard work this week be for not and lose to a bottom dweller.

Welp, our Women’s team is now solely responsible for $14.99 a month the last three months paid to BIG+ from me.

Wowwww. This team man.

Fair enough. She’s had a few layups come from the offense. But as our best deep threat has missed some open 3’s badly. We just need somebody to make some shots.

We’re down 4 and that’s without ANY production from Parrish, CMM, Garzon or Scalia. All in all, could be worse.

Lot of energy and adrenaline to start. Settled down nicely.

Two big buckets by Grace after they cut it to 6.

Solid quarter. Expanded the lead to 17 and then absorbed their run. Got Mack and Grace some rest and avoided the 4th fouls. Gotta close. But playing well ladies.

Know this is where the true basketball junkies hang out. So thought I’d cruise over and say with not much high quality men’s hoops tonight, consider switching B1G Network on and checking out our IU women. They’re up 10 at the half on the road at #13 Michigan. I was never a women’s basketball fan until recently, but our girls play good fundamental basketball and are fun to watch.

Love it. Bring them to the Hall Thursday reeling a bit. Opportunity to take a big step ahead in the battle for the B1G title. And we can just sliddeee on up and take that #2 poll ranking. First things first though. Finish this one out on the road.

Wow. What a half of basketball. I continue to have my expectations exceeded watching these ladies. So much poise. Dropping 48 points in a half against the best defense in the B1G on the road?? Awesome. Scalia found her stroke and then some. We’re exponentially better if she can shoot like she’s capable. Let’s finish this off IU!

Great start. Offensive execution was crisp. Defense is causing turnovers. Keep the foot on the gas. Also, Greta to see Scalia get that three and then the runner. Her confidence just needs the juice and she will get it going again.

I’ll go to my grave never understanding his minutes. Torched on D because he’s slow of foot, and 0-1 from the field for 0 points. Still out there.

Color me pleasantly surprised! Personally would like to see him eased back into the fold coming off the bench. But Woody loves him some upperclassmen.

I know Race will tell you he’s a go. He WANTS to play. If nothing else, a little gamesmanship by Woody to give the MSU locker room a last-minute wrinkle to throw into their game plan??

It’s a challenging two game tilt, but I think with this team, it’s not so much daunting as it is another good opportunity to cement our status as a national title contender. When you’re an elite team capable of winning against anybody, these matchups are less “oh no, potentially two losses” and more of a chance to keep upping expectations for this group. Realistically, we need to get a 1-seed in the tourney to have a good chance of reaching the final four. It’s just such a wide chasm in the women’s game between the top four programs and everyone else. I love our group and they play such great basketball. But beating South Carolina in Greenville, or UCONN in Bridgeport, or Stanford out West… It’s just a really tall ask, even with our talent. Having to do that in a Sweet Sixteen game or Elite Eight game isn’t what this team wants if it is going to take the next step as a program and get a Final Four appearance. So I fully expect two W’s this week. We are THAT team, who can win big games and should expect to because that’s what a program like SC/UCONN/Stanford would expect to do. And that’s who we want to elevate our program to be mentioned with. LFG ladies!!

He’s been participating in practice in a limited capacity. I’d think this is equivalent to “getting shots up while wearing the boot” that X has been seen doing. He’s close, it was never season ending, but today would surprise me.

Yeah, the more I look at PU’s schedule, the more I think they’re possibly really overrated. They rose to the top ten after wins over WVU, Gonzaga, Duke and FSU. WVU is currently 1-6 in the Big 12. Gonzaga just lost to Loyola Marymount at home, and their “big early season wins” over Kentucky and Mich. St. don’t look as impressive. Duke is now an unranked, middle of the ACC team. FSU is 7-13. So really, they’ve stayed in the top 5 in the country mostly by default because they got there and then played the bottom three teams in the B1G in 5 of their first 8 games in conference. The unbalanced conference schedule is making them look better than they are in my opinion.

Feels like it hasn’t been brought up, because Purdue has some good early season wins - but should be noted that 4 of their 7 B1G wins have come against Nebraska and Minnesota. Not saying they aren’t the best team in the conference, but they have played a soft schedule and have two 1-point wins against OSU and MSU. Things could get tight at top real quick.

Gutsy performance. Fun to watch. These girls play hard.
