I think tonight was a concerted effort by the staff to get a win, but also get the young players quality minutes and the starters more rest as we get to the home stretch.
A lot of memorable moments in a great win, but my favorite might be Syd hitting the back to back threes and yelling “I’m back babyyyy.” We’re gonna need her as a scoring option if we want to make a deep run.
Every team has a game like this unfortunately. Monday 1pm awkward start time, on the road against a team who needs it more. We were trying to get Syd involved in the rotation. It just didn’t turn out well. Get ready for Iowa.
This was the plan all along with Syd. Things have developed nicely. Will be a good shot in the arm to get a starter of her caliber back with some rest heading into the end of the season run.
That’s going to pay dividends for us big time in the long run. We don’t have much depth, now when Syd comes back we’ve got someone trusted and tested on the bench.
We’ve got to get more out of Yarden with Syd being out. Mack and Scalia are gonna get theirs. Bargeseer points are a bonus. But no production from Yarden limits us on the offensive side.
This is the kind of game we need to win. So far we’ve really only beat the teams we should. This is a legit tourney team. If we’re going to get past the first weekend of March madness the team needs the confidence they can beat good teams.
Am I the only one who is getting tired of all the fifth year covid players. I know we’re benefiting with Mack. But 5-6 years is just too long. Programs need to turnover or recruit and shouldn’t just be good because their best players have been there for half a decade.
Good composure by the team to stem that 3rd quarter run and finish the game off. Good road win. Big game against OSU coming up. Need to have first half effort and shooting in that one.
