  1. Down 18 at home to f****** Nebraska. Unacceptable
  2. Fitzner misses point blank and then a three. GTFO
  3. About sick and f****** tired of these long @$$ scoring droughts. Run a g****** set
  4. Are you guys really arguing about whether we have shooters? The only players on the team who take a shot and I actually expect it to go in is Juwan or Romeo when they have a layup lol.
  5. I don’t miss much about Crean but he always seemed to know how to beat Beilein
  6. They’ve blown a few travel calls on UM so far
  7. Can’t even hit a damn layup. This is going to be ugly
  8. Ahh ok. I tracked down his EYBL numbers and noticed a significant difference in his 3 pt percentage. Through 19 games on the Nike circuit, he was a 35% shooter on 53 attempts from behind the arc. Better competition can obviously affect production, but I don’t see it accounting for a 13% drop. That variance makes me think that he can become a capable shooter, and may just need to some time with a shooting coach to address inconsistencies with his shot.
  9. Thanks for the info! I like what I see from a statistical standpoint for the most part. The FG% is lower than I anticipated for a player with his ranking but the numbers are basically identical to Langford’s stats at IU to this point. Still, I’d like to see higher at the HS level. Would you say the percentages are a good indicator of his shooting abilities or are they more a product of shot selection/volume shooting?
  10. Ahh that makes sense. I've always wondered why they were available for some players and not others. I just always figured they had beat writers that followed certain players/programs and was surprised to see that stats aren't available for La Lumiere.
  11. Seeing as how Hurt is most likely going to end up with more career points than Bailey, I got to thinking about scoring records by state and was surprised to find that 16 states have had players with more than 3,134 points. Some of those states have had multiple players surpass that mark. That being said, Jon Diebler and Robert Parish are the only two on that list that I've heard of so it's not exactly an indicator of long-term success. Even so, I thought it would be interesting to discuss Hurt's career scoring in relation to Bailey's. Obviously they are completely different players, so I'm not talking about comparing them as such. I'm just curious to see what people have to say about their accomplishments. Which do you find more impressive? Generally I'd be inclined to say Bailey based on the fact that he did it in a state known for basketball (talent and coaching), and the fact that he was only 6'3" (I would assume Hurt has a pretty decent height advantage in every game he plays). On the other hand, I was an infant when Bailey was playing and am not familiar with the level of competition BNL went up against. I would assume there were a lot of cupcakes. Could be the same for Hurt, but I believe he faces larger schools which generally equates to better opponents. He also appears to be a very versatile scorer and may not rely on his height advantage much. If that is the case and a lot of his offense comes from outside the paint, I'm inclined to give him more credit as his height makes his skill set more impressive. So, what do you guys think? Whose scoring record is more impressive and why? For those interested, here is the link to HS scoring leaders: https://www.nfhs.org/RecordBook/Record-book-result.aspx?CategoryId=1133
  12. Yup, Hulls set the B1G record with 58 consecutive. I know it hasn’t been broken by an IU player and I can’t recall anyone on another team breaking it in the past 5 years.
  13. MaxPreps doesn’t seem to track his percentages (or at least doesn’t post them on the free site). Anyone seen enough of him to give an estimate? From what I’ve seen it seems like he has improved as a shooter; I’m just wondering how efficient he is. Also, he’s listed anywhere from 6’6 to 6’8. Seeing him next to TJD makes me think he’s closer to 6’6 but I was curious if he has grown. Obviously he can play the 3 but I’m wondering if he’ll be able to come in and play the 2 as well. I haven’t seen much info on his ball handling abilities.
  14. Michigan is better than Duke IMO. That one could be real ugly.
  15. Lol Morgan hacked the **** out of him
  16. No excuse for a college team to be incapable of breaking a press smh
  17. At this point I have a hard time believing Jager could possibly be any worse
  18. I don’t think anything is gonna help us against Michigan but I hope to god Rob is back for the following game
  19. I’m usually not one to complain about a double digit lead but a 12 point lead at home against a 4-9 team that’s turned the ball over 21 times...
  20. We actually shoot 53% from the field and 37% from 3 as a team. And no, I don’t know how. It sure doesn’t seem like it.
  21. I'm not sure his shot even needs all that much work. When he's on the move he squares himself pretty well, releases the ball at the right point with good rotation and arc, and usually has good elbow placement. He does occasionally drag his shooting arm in front of his face, but that's a common problem and an easy fix. Personally, I think his shooting woes are a combination of two factors: his wrist is a bigger issue than the team is letting on, and he's uncomfortable in catch-and-shoot situations. One requires time, one requires repetition. It'll be interesting to see where he gets drafted. I don't watch the NBA until the playoffs start so I have no idea what each team needs. I do know there are at least 6, maybe 7, players that I expect to be drafted before Romeo. After that there are about 12 I could see going in any order. I said it on the other thread and i'll say it again here; I really think he'd raise his stock and go in the first 3 picks next year if he stayed. He'd have the time to work on his jumper and, hopefully, learn to assert himself. Romeo can take over in just about any game he plays, but he rarely does. I know we all love that he's humble but that needs to go when he's on the court. Scouts see a SG like him and can't deny the talent or the potential, but it's the attitude that catapults players to the top of the draft. They're looking for the franchise player that walks up in the clutch and says "give me the ball and get out of my way." Romeo isn't that guy yet.
  22. I was checking various draft boards today and most had him in the 7-14 range. I don't recall seeing any that had him as low as 24.
  23. I'd have to say this is one of the more intriguing recruits I've watched in a while. He seems like the kind of kid we want on the team, but the footage i'm seeing doesn't match the numbers he's putting up. Granted, it's a small sample size, but if you were to show me the footage available online and didn't give me his stats, I'd probably put him about 40 spots lower than his consensus ranking. And I certainly don't see high-level PG skills. That being said, I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and say I just haven't seen enough of his game.
  24. Well I agree with the second part. I'm done derailing the thread. I just hope he announces soon and it goes in our favor. I'm thrilled with TJD and Franklin but I think we're going to needs Brooks' offensive production.
  25. "The NBA’s 10 biggest endorsement stars will generate a combined $234 million off the court this year by Forbes’ count. There is a staggering gap between the NBA and the other three major U.S. sports leagues. Football’s 10 biggest endorsers will generate an estimated $90 million, while baseball ($25 million) and hockey ($20 million) aren’t in the same galaxy. European soccer stars are the only reasonable comparison, but the top 10 in soccer will still “only” earn around $135 million."- Forbes Magazine
