  1. Didn’t know that. I’ve sat out watching the last few. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  2. Smith not in the starting lineup. About time.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  3. Agreed. We are kinda stuck Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Thanks for this one, 41. Wasn’t there supposed to be a comment somewhere from him saying that Justin wasn’t being utilized properly in the offense? One comment like that from his dad could solidify the thoughts an entitled kid is already having and embolden him to act out. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. I did a cursory search for his dad’s comments and can’t find anything. Does anyone have a link? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  6. I think with what is being manifested on the court with his demeanor, coupled with the comments by his father that some have reported, the proverbial handwriting is on the wall with Smith. He will be gone this spring. I hope he finds a fit somewhere other than IU but I just don’t think he is a skilled basketball player. I actually think Green is very skilled but has an air of rebel about him. Plus his situational awareness is lacking. If he could put it all together he could be very good, but I fear that won’t happen at IU or anywhere else. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. Maybe it’s a weak moment for me because I generally am optimistic about things, but TBH I’m having a really hard time believing anything positive is going to happen any time soon for us. I never doubted that PUke would hit the game winner last night. I don’t believe in curses but man, I could be swayed right now. I’m going with the “No way KBJ comes to IU” viewpoint. Damn, I hate being pessimistic.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  8. I get that. I’m talking about our reaction as fans on this board. Have some people become so sour on CAM that it’s irretrievable? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. So let’s fast forward one year. Say we lose JM, McBob, Fitzner (given) and Romeo (99.9% given), and we lose 2-3 others that are not well thought of right now (you fill in those names). Now next year’s roster is filled with guys that play hard and smart BUT are still 13-11 and 4-9 in the B1G, what will the conversation be like? Will most of us be happier even though the record isn’t better but the on-court product is more appealing? Or will some still be wanting to crucify CAM even though the culture is beginning to take shape? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  10. Man, them going to OT with LaLu is an accomplishment in itself. No moral victories though. Get it done. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. I definitely see him as a 3 for us. I know TJD is a 5 right now but does he have the skills to play the 4 if somehow DD comes back and fills the 5? I would Ike that frontcourt very much, especially if Smith is no longer in the picture. If Smith is back next year I fear Archie will continue to force him into lineups and we’ll be in for another very long season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  13. I’ve read about these mythical fast break points in a storybook. Maybe they are real.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  14. Man, I can’t believe how he can’t seem to get out of his own way. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Never heard that term before. May I use it in my daily vernacular going forward? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. Great news! I couldn’t watch the other night. Thanks for the heads up. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. No, I’m saying that others may be reading intent into sloppy handwriting when maybe it’s just that, sloppy handwriting. If you look at the sheets, he definitely doesn’t set himself up as the Paragon of Penmanship. I’m trying to view the matter objectively, being neither a defender, opponent, nor listener of his. I actually don’t pay him any mind at all. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. I see the IU on the right side of the sheet where his Butler predictions are written down. It doesn’t look like he intentionally wrote “$U”. It looks like he hurriedly wrote IU and let his pen get lazy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. I love it! Attitude is everything!!! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  20. What if....just what if....we’ve been playing the way we have just to set up Sparty for this game? They come in totally unsuspecting and we drop 96 on em. Maybe Archie thinks that the six straight losses won’t hurt our tournament chances as much as puttin’ a whoopin’ on MSU will help is? It could happen... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  21. High praise. I hope he’s right Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  22. Dropping some serious knowledge on us. Thank you. This is obviously well researched and long observed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. Really appreciate the report Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. Wasn’t he in the team that had won 88-straight and went to South Bend and lost? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  25. Great post. My question is when and how does a coach assert himself in this situation? The Crean players are soft, in general. I don’t think Juwan is at all, he’s just not the vocal type. You mentioned that some of Miller’s players are soft, too. I agree with that. So it’s a matter of assimilation. Either Crean’s players are going to assimilate to Archie’s personality or Archie’s players are going to assimilate to Crean’s players’ personalities. It seems evident to me that the latter is the case here. So my question again is how does Archie overcome this? He clearly is trying to implement accountability at least for off-court issues, with Green’s suspension as the example. So how does he get to a level of accountability for on-court performance? I remember back in the day that was done with benching, which Archie seems loathe to do, either because he is coddling his starters or he doesn’t trust his bench players. Double-edged sword. If you get the reputation of being too hard-nosed of a coach you might lose future recruits. I think what he needs is a few more of his players in to rotate Crean’s players out, coupled with next years players saying “we’re not going through what we went through last year again”. Maybe that’s how the culture shift starts to take place. But I’m no sports psychologist. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
