You can hate him and everyone knows he's a tool but he's not wrong...these "metrics" and "quadrants" created by these people are ridiculous. And because of this system, Auburn, Clemson, Cincinnati, and Texas Tech are all better than Michigan State?? If you put MSU vs any of those schools, who are you picking?? MSU because we watch basketball and know they're better. Upsets happen but MSU IS better than those teams hands down...in both talent and coaching...Auburn had more quadrant 2 wins so they're clearly better!!! Joke. Oklahoma getting worked by Kansas...when is ESPN and the so-called experts going to get off the OU bandwagon and realize they just aren't good. Trae Young is good yes, but the bottom line is his team isn't winning and takes 30 shots to get 30 points. This will be their 6th loss in a row and are gonna be 6-9 in conference and 16-11 overall and the "experts" have them as a lock in the field as a 5 seed??? I don't get it. Just spoke with a guy whose son plays at Warren Central and knows Aaron Henry pretty well and said that Archie met with him 2 weeks ago and word is that he's decommitting from MSU in the midst of all that is going on and will be coming to Bloomington next year. He said the writing isn't completely on the wall but that speaks volume about what Archie thinks our chances are to land Romeo...if true of course. Looks like Archie has a solid backup plan in place. IF Romeo comes, I think we're going to see a starting 5 of Phinisee, Langford, Hunter, Morgan, and Davis. Hunter is going to be an immediate impact player. Anderson will see a good amount of minutes based on his shooting ability alone and we will get contributions from Smith, Green, McBob, and Race off the bench. IF Romeo goes elsewhere, most likely Green will take that spot. I think Davis has A LOT of work to do to be able to contribute in Archie's system next year and is going to need to raise his awareness and footwork to fit back in...I think Race may be a better piece to the Archie puzzle having a better motor/skill set than Davis. Forgetting Damezi Anderson...he's going to have a huge impact for us next year. He's a player that can create his own shot, score with ease, and a great shooter. We lack each one of those with this team right now. He's gonna be an immediate impact guy and if he's playing along side Romeo with Phinisee running the show. For the rest of the season as far as I'm concerned. Hate knock him continuously but he has no business playing D1 basketball anywhere on scholarship. Without a doubt the lowest basketball IQ of any player I've ever watched. Wish Tom Allen would've snatched him from the team as a TE to keep us from having to watch this crap OVER AND OVER! They're the most complete team in basketball and nobody in the country is playing better than them...any average basketball fan can see that. In November I said I think this is a Final Four year for them and got completely bashed. When you have 4 senior starters who have pretty much started since day 1 as freshmen that goes a long way. Hate to say it but they have it all and play true Indiana basketball...experience, great defense, legit inside presence, and an array of shooters. They benefit from the perennial powerhouses being down this year as well and no truly dominant teams like years past. They're nearly impossible to game plan and defend against and gonna be an extremely tough out in the tournament. If they don't make the Final Four this year it's gonna be a long time before they have another chance and could very well be in the bottom half of the B1G next year losing as much as they do after this year. I think we're watching the national champs right now folks. This team has zero holes and I honestly can't see them losing another game all year. It took them 2 rough losses to finally wake up and play at their potential. They will only be better in March too. Everybody needs to stop panicking about this program and Archie...the talent on this team is just not very good at all. Crean left the cupboard bare to say the least. We have ZERO shooters and a terrible PG. Hard to win with that combination especially on the road in the B1G regardless of how bad the other team is. If you understand basketball you can see Archie is trying to get these players to play within themselves and they have to play FLAWLESS if they want any chance to win because they aren't good at all. These players aren't used to playing defense or disciplined basketball and again WE CANT SHOOT! Everyone will be back on the bandwagon and calling for Archie to be COY next year. If we see the same results next year it's really time to panic but I can't see that happening at all. Crean did a terrible job of recruiting the state and that is showing big time as we're losing top players year in and year out. Next year we have 2 of the 3 best players in the state coming in here and there is a slight chance we get ALL of the top 3 to build the base to something special. Give him time to get his players and system in place. Nobody was gonna come in right away and win with this team...they're just bad and we need to just accept it and move on. I know people wanna hate on Happ but I'd take that kid on my team in a heartbeat...smart fundamental player who plays better around the rim than anyone in the game. Poor mans Cody Zeller...you'll never see him complain either and just plays the game the way you're supposed to. We're gonna gain so much by losing both Newkirk and McSwain...possibly the 2 worst offensive players in basketball with very little bball iq. At least we showed life in the first half and there is a lot of promise for the future. I don't think we need to discount the fact that this Seton Hall team is REALLY good...they will seriously contend with Villanova for the Big East title.
