  1. This half bracket looks very doable.
  2. Not going to go through the entire thread, so SIAP, but on the bright side, I like where IU is projected at the moment, #11 seed vs LSU. That would be a very winnable game and then no greater than a #3 seed(Texas Tech) in the way of a trip to the Sweet 16. Another win or 2 and IU was looking at a 8 or 9 seed and a second round game against a killer.
  3. LOL Sh*t, he should be able to respond, he's a young man. received_375995274073483.mp4
  4. If Joan Crawford was an IU fan and wire hangers were imperfect wins.
  5. I will say that other than the posts on this page,I have not gone through this thread, as it is likely the same thread after every IU loss. I imagine there is the Woody doesn't know how to coach, these guys choke, they lack effort, ... Anyway it is really simple, as a whole, these players are not physically gifted as good shooters. This could simply be the end thread sentence. For everything he does to lift his lesser teammates, even TJD's FT shooting is a constant let down. And every position, not TJD, is playing one level above what they should be at IU or any other elite or more factually a once elite program. X,PS, Kopp are not starting guards/wings at a top 20 program. TG,KL,JG should be no more than spot minute guys. RT is about what he should be a great compliment to a stud player. Anyway, I will hold off judgement on CMW until he gets some players here that fit his vision. He has this team playing defense at a level not seen in years at IU, and I hope once he gets a crop of shooters at IU that things will quickly return to the what, the unrealistic at the moment, expectations of the fanbase. Now if, in a year or 2 the offense is the same rudderless ship, the sky is falling rhetoric may be more justified.
  6. Can't remember did one or two fish go missing for a bit? On a side note, as a junior we rented a house on E 8th a few blocks from Kilroy's, anyway I woke up one morning near Little 5 week and found a helium take from the IU golf course in our living room. We had black garbage bags of sqeaky voice juice on our ceiling all week during parties. Ahh, for the simpler days.
  7. I was in fact around as a freshman for the 1986-87 championship, remember rushing to Showalter fountain after KS's jumper from a frat house I was watching the game at. If you can't find pleasure in what has been missing from Bloomington since even before BK's departure then i am not sure what to tell you. Absence has made this mind fonder.
  8. NIL money needs to give me Race Thompson for a 6th Covid season. This guy has exploded in development under this staff. F%ck, give me TJD for one more ( yeah, yeah, I know). In fact, every player has taken a step to big step up and they continue to get better as the season progresses. Under Archie, you pretty much got what you saw game 1 of the season. It almost seems foreign seeing player development. It may be the homer in me, but I also feel Woody has a way of having guys understand the wait that will keep Lander and the like around. His decades of success in the NBA, I feel, is often understated, with regard as to how this youth looks at it. This staff is going to have IU where it belongs as early as next season.I could see a 5-7 year run with Woody and then Dane taking over for a few decades.
  9. I thought Justin Smith had transferred back to IU
  10. What you pointed out speaks to the opposite. Jaden Ivey going off with TJD on the bench could have easily led to a mental collapse. Instead IU maintained a lead, didn't start jacking up bad shots,or turning the ball over, and there was no 8-0 or 11-0 run despite him going beast mode. The IU lead was down to 3 pts just a 1:26 into the 2nd half yet never trailed until 1:11 left in the game. Then clamped down and finished on a 5-0 run to win the game. Not sure how you don't see that as different than the other games, losing big halftime leads rather quickly.
  11. I have noticed every game that KL looks totally engaged and excited for the team on the bench. He so easily could have gone the way of Devonte Green, Jake Forester, Justin Smith, etc. I remember these guys way to frequently looking disinterested and like someone had just shot their dog anytime they got extended bench time. Whatever happens with him, he has been a good soldier for IU, not making waves on the court or social media in what has to be a tough situation for him. I hope he has a huge offseason and finds his groove at IU, but I will be a fan wherever his path leads.
  12. Not sure if this is just wishful thinking, but this could be a big springboard for the rest of the season. 1)team learned to win without TJD. 2)huge difference in how the team came out in the 2nd half vs against Wisc and Iowa. Previously they came out with a lead and played not to lose, tonight they played to win. 3)the increasing quality of bench play is going to be huge down the stretch of the season. and finally 4)imagine coming to practice today with this win vs a loss. This team is going to have an edge that it has not had for over 4 seasons moving forward.
  13. The problem with this team starts and ends with PG play. Sure there are countless little or not so little things to complain about but there is one thing driving the losses. When they get some semblance of decent PG play they get results like the OSU game. When you have horribly sub par PG play, whether it be from being a complete non threat, a poor % bad shooting option, an unreliable shooter at the line, or veteran with an inexplicable lack of understanding how to beat a press, they lose. vs Syr 40 min 6pts .500FG 1.00 FT 4 total shots taken vs Wisc 40min 12pts .250FG .285FT 20 total shots taken vs PSU 51 min 18pts .352 FG .666FT 17 total shots taken vs Iowa 43 min 9pts .250 FG .600 FT 12 total shots taken
  14. With the NIL he can make money playing in Bloomington.
  15. Then X just needs to soot it. He is shooting .344 on 3's, unguarded that would go up a bit. I think it got in his head that they were leaving him wide open, like "I can't do this, they want me to do this." Hittting .333 of 3's is equivalent to .500 of 2's, so not really a problem.
  16. Cool story. Hitting .500 at an open gym session would be impressive enough, not going to get in a pissing match with you about the quality of looks of all 22 3's they took. Pick your nits elsewhere.
  17. Some guys are just wired differently. It's an ability just like physical attributes. Yogi was a guy that got everything and more out of his ability. He is kinda Dane Fife-y as well.
  18. The PSU game was tough to swallow but realize it was a game where IU shot it's 2nd worst fg %, 3rd worst 3PT%, and PSU shot it's best 3PT % of the season, against some well defended 3's. For an IU team that is playing excellent defense, it was just one of those nights. PU lost under similar circumstances against Rutgers and is 1-2 in the B1G. The B1G is going to be battle all season, I think IU is going to end up being a high second tier team in the conference by seasons end.
  19. What hasn't been discussed is that IU shot 83.3% on FT's and had 9 TO's. Fundamental BB is fun to watch. IU has had a total of 1 game since 2015-16 where they shot 80%+ on FT's and under 10 TO's, 1-11-19 vs Maryland. This team is growing and when they first learn to walk they will fall a lot, but eventually, they will get coordinated and learn to dance.
  20. Trying to figure out how a Hoosier fan watches this game, logs into a Hoosier message board, and thinks you know what, I really need to discuss this OSU kids uninformed tweet about the greatness of AH. I mean WTF.
  21. I have been a critic of RP, but if seems like you are just reading the box score. RP came in in the 2nd half for a poor shooting, bad defense, foul machine in Parker Stewart and was nails late. He tied up Lidell twice for jump balls which led to a possession arrow flip and then a change of possession ( steal) with 4:18 to play that was critical to keeping the momentum. It was, actually the Race T dunk after that play, putting them up by 13, that I actually felt OSU was done. RP has had plenty of not pretty games, but last night was not one of them. He will never be a great shooter, but as long as he limits his shooting to keeping the defense honest, plays lock down D, and doesn't turn the ball over( If I never see him drive the baseline, jump in the air, and then try and figure out where he is going to pass the ball, it will be too soon) he will be just fine.
