  1. Well with 18 Big Ten teams not quite rock bottom...at least better than Ben Johnson (the Canadian sprinter or Lions OC?) and Dirk Diggler
  2. So better than Rutgers and Archie Miller is the benchmark? I'm speechless.
  3. SO you are saying Woodrow is pantsed in recruiting by a historically bottom feeder program with an "arena" that would fall somewhere in the middle of the top 10 Indiana high school gyms, that shares practice facilities with WBB, gymnastics, and wrestling. Resource disparity indeed. Wow that's embarrarssing. Are those stands full, hard to see all the way up to row 26 with the bank of 30 60 watt bulbs concentrated on the floor.
  4. Pikiell took a horrid program that averaged 23 loses a season the 3 yrs prior to his arrival and has had them in the top 25 in 3 of his 8 seasons the first time since 1979 and 3 of th 7 times in the 111years of the program and made the tourney twice, first times in over 30 yrs. Pikiell has easily out coached and out performed MW. Not saying I would want him at IU, but what each has done for their program and who has done more isn't even debatable.
  5. If you are Min, NW, or Neb these are all decent three year spans. Is one of these are the coach of the most basketball rich, traditionally and resource wise, in the Big 10? Well then all three would be @$$.
  6. Don't shoot the messenger. https://x.com/CBKReport/status/1779633485621113149
  7. Not even top 10 in the conference, maybe not top 15.
  8. I think I make him out in the background, can't be certain, since the guy is actually carrying his own bag.
  9. I was told that if you ignore the second half of last season or away games or the 18 of 35 games going oh for, we have some excellent transferred in three point shooters.
  10. In all seriousness, is that even mediocre? Gifted the junior and senior seasons of an AA all time great Hoosier, a great 5th and then 6th year senior compliment, and recruiting a lottery pick PG and they were just mediocre. The first all Woody roster was a disaster. Until proven otherwise Woodrow's hump is becoming mediocre. But hey he has only been at this coaching thing for 28 years, so give him time.
  11. I, for one, am just proud of you all for bringing your substantive posts to the Fire Mike Woodson thread. Thanks to all
  12. Those damn guard's shatty perimeter defense really hamstrung poor Woodrow. You know what they say, "defense travels," it's too bad those perimeter defenders couldn't be bothered to find someone to teach them the concepts of or motivate them to play lock down defense. Hope all these transfers can remember their defensive teaching, hell, maybe they can help out TG MM, GC learn to defend, so Woodrow can at least have solid defenders.
  13. True, he might have found a way for them to be blown out by Nebraska 4 times.
  14. For all the excuses as to who could be relied on to shoot the three, IU was just slightly below the national average, a bit more than a single percentage point off the mean (1.6% below the median), yet they were last of any major conference team in attempt rate and damn near last in the whole of the NCAA. This visual is alarming: major schools and then IU isolated.
  15. Maybe don't excuse MW for last season's debacle because of the guards shooting in the very next post then.
  16. Yet you call him hamstrung, which in sports connotes him, not of his doing, being put in the undesirable position. Which side of your mouth are you talking out of now, I can't tell by your typing?
  17. I mean if MW can get an all time IU greats to stick around for their 3rd and 4th seasons and recruit 6'-6" 1 and done McD AA point guards with consistency, I'm on board. We are totally locked in for the triennial Sweet 16 appearance and can pummel those naysayers with his better than Coach Archie Miller stats. Toot toot.
  18. He had three off seasons to get the backcourt of his choosing prior to last year. You consistently blame the exact players he chose to recruit and/or keep, yet absolve MW of all blame. How you don't see your hypocrisy is baffling.
  19. Not sure that in any way makes a positive statement about his coaching prowess. 8 of those 19 wins were against bad to horrible programs, 3 against the 26th ranked A-Sun conference lower tier teams,( Heard they may consider making IU an Honorary member). They went 11-14 against top 150 schools with only 2 of those losses by less than 8 point no doubters, while 10 of their 19 wins were by 6 or less, a 1 point squeaker over Moorehead State and a 6 point near disaster win in the season opener against FGCU. IU eeked out wins against mediocre and bad teams and were blown out repeatedly by good teams, I mean FFS they lost to Nebraska 268-206 on the season. The other thing is they started the season against FGCU playing 3 guards and looked lost. We have no idea if Woodrow even knows how to draw up and coach a capable small lineup offense.
  20. If IU goes 20-11 and flames early in the tournament, it's worth a talk? LTFOL The only talk if that were to come to pass is to which senior country club community do you want your checks sent.
  21. Sorry to disappoint you but 16-4 and a record worthy of a 2 seed isn't disappointing anyone in this thread that wants to see MW gone. What's more likely if IU would go 25-6 and fire MW fans being disappointed or 20-11(13-7) finishing 5th in the B1G and the excuse makers making excuses? That is an easy one. I mean you are already paving the way for excusing the "best and most versatile roster" in the B1G to underachieve because they lose to better lesser talented teams than school _____X_________. Oh and your so many variables is literally one thing which should be insignificant given that IU has the "best and most versatile roster."
  22. Barring major injury to a key player, what other variables are there? Injury is the only variable for which the coaching staff is not responsible. Short a major injury, you should expect no less than a championship. He's got the "best" roster, the one"most versatile" to adapting to other teams. Please list just a few of these " so many" variables that would be outside of Woodrow's province that would forgive a middling B1G season.
  23. So less than a B1G championship would be an underachievement in coaching?
  24. It was his friggin' inept shooting personnel. And as for comparing IU's offense to the triple option, we agree, Woodrow runs as archaic an offense as the Naval Academy, at least they have an excuse as to why they don't recruit athletes fit for the modern version of the sport.
  25. 3 offseasons PRIOR. And I did forget Kopp, but I guess so did Woodrow, since instead of getting looks for the one capable 3 pt shooter he has brought in, Kopp's volume, as a experience senior and senior+ and best 3point shooter on the team, went down to lowest since being a snot nosed freshman.
