  1. Was your point that good coaches have no concern for job security and major basketball programs don't have to do interviews? Sorry, disproving complete nonsense that rattles around in your skull and then finds it's way to your keyboard ain't my thing.
  2. This is just meatball speak. The average tenure of a college basketball coach is 1–2 years. After each season, 15–20% of Division I basketball coaches are fired. According to available data, a college basketball coach is typically fired around 1-2 times on average throughout their career. Any coach with half a brain would never take a position where a the university routinely fires coaches after one to 2 mediocre seasons with no other issues. Everyone loves coach Cig's bravado, but only because he is winning. You want to know what a guy with mediocre results that " never even contemplates losing or failing or getting fired," looks like? Woodson-IU.webp
  3. The point is that had the IU admin fired both CAM and CMW after 2 year of mediocre results, they would be raked over the coals for being overly reactionary and no respectable coach would want to deal with such dysfunction. Just as attractive as the facilities and NIL are, a heavy handed fickle administration would repulse them. IU is far from the irresistible cherry topped sundae most on here think it is. Woodson absolutely needed to go after 3 seasons, but not because he only made 2 NCAA tourneys(the first 2 times in 8 seasons) but because he is an absolute willful failure at recruiting, lacks any desire to get better at coaching, and has no ability and even less desire to build a competent staff.
  4. Not really. Do you actually think an established coach like Pearl or promising younger guy like May would jump to IU knowing they have 2 years or they're gone? If IU admin acted with the attention span of a dog at a squirrel farm no coach worth his salt would consider the job. IU fans are like a guy trying to sell a ratted out 1986 Trans Am calling it a classic, when everyone looking realizes it is a clunker in need of major time consuming restoration.
  5. Everyone wants him gone...well almost everyone, but I see absolutely no one on this staff that wouldn't make this a bigger clown show. The best scenario, which won't happen, is for Dolson to have a sit down with Miserable Mike and to layout that he is gone after the season, and to explain the most gracious way and best way to go about it would be to announce, near the start of the B1G conference play season, that he has set this team on the right path ( an ego saving lie), but he is going to move on to his next phase of life after the season. That allows him to be the (fake) controller of his destiny and also lets prospective hires have their agents put out feelers and for IU to get a head start on vetting such. Again, way too much common sense to ever happen unfortunately
  6. Is it possible that he is one of those decommissioned Chuck E Cheese animatronic band members repurposed with a tape recorder playing on loop? That would explain a lot.
  7. You did say coaches, not just head coaches, so he might actually be a few notches lower
  8. Are you busy not watching the game at a bat mitzvah with @steubenhoosier?
  9. IU basketballs season will not even be close to 3.5 months longer. Last scheduled game is March 8th, anything beyond that is a crap shoot at best.
  10. I, and I think most, expected Woodson and his NBA cred would allow him to lock down the state talent and bring in high level national recruits and that he would lean on the experienced staff he was given to learn the college game and return IU to being a perennial B1G contender and tourney second weekend team. Then he would take a bow and pass the team on to continue it's rise back to prominence I don't think anyone could have predicted the hubris, laziness, pettiness and contempt.
  11. Funny how all the Woodites were so eager to puff their chest about their predicted lack of accountability by those that wanted HIM gone, yet they are the first to run and hide or deny seeing the predictable mess they fervently backed. 12. Does tinkering mean talking about it with QB over a glass of Merlot and a Cohiba?
  13. To be honest, he is in a tough position. What other coach has to win conference road games, teach new players their defensive strategy and be burdened with not recruiting HS players? On top of that he has to spend the most NIL money in college basketball on players that he spends no time teaching and yet still find time for wine and stogies. It's a lot to ask of a mere mortal, good thing...
  14. Is he using the extra $6M on Fred Hoiberg?
  15. IU losses by an average of 16 points in the three games that Woodson didn't quit and leave early, where they lost by 27. So Woodson makes this team 11 points better by his mere presence. All of you that say he doesn't do work clearly don't understand the subtle nuanced impact of Woodson's bench snoring.
  16. What are the actual F&&& are you talking about? Are you feining being insulted by being called a Woodson cultist? You may actually be more thin skinned than Woodson himself(clutches pearls).
  17. Bringing in an interim HC isn't a thing, they would have to elevate an asst coach to HC, and since MW likes nothing but yes men surrounding him, I don't see any of those guys even close to capable of being a HC. It will be Woeful Woody for the remainder of this, once again, lost season.
  18. I believe one cultist called that quad 4 win a "positive performance" that had all of us realists cowering in the shadows. LTFOL
  19. Aliens seek intelligent life forms they can learn from. If they want to learn about cigars, whiskey and making tee times Miserable Mike might be in danger, but if they invade the RAC looking for knowledge of 21st century basketball, Woeful Woody would be safe.
  20. Sorry couldn't read. I was at a Festivus airing of the grievances.
  21. Does anyone find it curious that @steubenhoosier seems to never see the Hoosiers lose? Kind of convenient. I guess that's how you become a true fan.
  22. Let this sink in. Woodson's career Quadrant 1 Home games against teams ranked 1–30, neutral games against teams ranked 1–50, and away games against teams ranked 1–75 Quadrant 1 14-31 record 14 and freaking 31! Quadrant 2 Home games against teams ranked 31–75, neutral games against teams ranked 51–100, and away games against teams ranked 76–135 Quadrant 2 18- 10 record slightly better chance than not he beats a top 75 team Quadrant 3 Home games against teams ranked 76–160, neutral games against teams ranked 101–200, and away games against teams ranked 136–240 Quadrant 3 17-2 record Almost never loses to teams ranked near 200 Quadrant 4 Home games against teams ranked 161–353, neutral games against teams ranked 201–353, and away games against teams ranked 241–353 Quadrant 4 22-0 record put money on Cream and Crimson vs bottom 250 teams
  23. Please drop the Mediocre, it is an insult to all the mediocres staying under the radar and hiding in their cubicle just trying to get by.
  24. Don't think many people were hiding out after a less than inspiring win vs the 165th ranked Dawson Garcias. That you think that a quad 4 win is a positive performance explains a lot.
  25. IU and Woodson Buckner and Mega donors A match made in hell
