  1. Receiver stumbled, but the throw was still behind him. ... Man, that's two bad, early picks ... Need to establish the run game.
  2. Now, that was sweet! ... That pass was on the money!
  3. Damn. We sure are missing a lot of tackles. Everybody's grabbing. Nobody's tackling.
  4. I'm glad they're there, but I thought under Freddy's "uniform code," names wouldn't be on jerseys. ... Did he make an exception for football?
  5. The very top of the sign should actually read: "Welcome to Memorial Stadium -- all 25,000 of you!"
  6. There was a lot of speculation on this board that Damezi would transfer after last season. Since he stayed and apparently has busted his a$$, I hope he's rewarded and becomes a solid contributor. He was the guy we needed to come off the bench, provide 15-20 solid minutes and knock down some 3s. But he looked slow and out of sorts -- nothing like a B1G player. I hope he makes a big jump this season. I like this kid and want to see him do well.
  7. I was a little later than you, but it was the same in my day. ... My freshman year was 1986-87 (a pretty phenomenal year) and a few days before school started, a buddy and I were walking around campus. We happened upon the HPER building and noticed a crowd. Turns out, Alford, Eyl & some of the gang were playing pick-up ball. While watching, I took notice of a black fella that I didn't recognize. I wasn't sure if he was on the team or not, but he could easily outrun and outjump everybody there -- a phenomenal athlete who could flat-out ball. I sorta figured he wasn't one of the crowd -- he was just way too good. ... Turns out it was Keith Smart!
  8. Same thing happened with Larry Bird ... Does that mean this kid will end up being one of the ten greatest players of all time? LOL!
  9. As opposed to (yawn) Indiana basketball (no NCAAs since 2016)? ... LOL!
  10. I'm chuckling when I read the headlines that starting Penix is a "risk." ... Where's the risk in replacing the starting QB from a 5-7 team. I realize that 5-7 record isn't all on Ramsey's shoulders, but still ... I'm on board with Penix. Why not see what he can do? We know what Ramsey can do, and it appears to be pretty limited. Give the young fella a chance. Let's roll!
  11. I wonder if because of the timing, Mike's split with UNC Greensboro was somewhat acrimonious? Just for fun, I checked the UNCG website and Twitter and the head coach's Twitter -- didn't see any mention whatsoever of Roberts leaving. The guy was there for eight seasons. No, "We wish Mike luck." Or "Mike Roberts is returning to his alma mater." Or "Mike Roberts is leaving the program after eight seasons. We're confident we will find the right replacement. We wish him well." I guess I thought that was a bit odd.
  12. Doug Gobbleib had a foolish tweet. Torrey Smith had a witty response. And mdn82 had better charge his phone!!!
  13. Non-conference schedule has two neutral-site games and no road games. After eight straight home games to open the season, I have a feeling we're gonna be in for a rude awakening when we head to Madison in early December. Heck, even if we go to Evansville or Terre Haute or some Illinois directional school, I'd rather have our feet wet with at least one road game before playing Bucky.
  14. Prayers go out to Babe -- a former Hoosiers QB -- and his family. His son had cancer -- was only 21. Was just getting started in life ... Very sad.
  15. I hope the background check doesn't reveal that he returned a bunch of tapes to Blockbuster without rewinding them. ... That could be a troubling development.
  16. I'm beginning to wonder what the holdup is? Why hasn't the basketball program or athletic department announced this yet? Just curious.
  17. I found it very interesting that when Davis was fired/resigned, one of the Indiana kids he recruited followed him to Alabama, while the Alabama kid he recruited stayed put.
  18. And so after that summer, you suggested to Vaden that it would be best if he transferred???
  19. This is gonna be a big hire -- he's 6-9! C'mon folks, lighten up. It's an assistant, for crying out loud. Unlike the obvious candidates for a head coaching job, I'm not sure any of us knows who will make a good assistant and who won't. Let him get back on campus and let's see what he can do. Archie took a damn long time to make this hire, so I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt that he got it right. As far as recruiting, if a 6-9, 250-pound guy comes into your house and tells you to come to IU, I think you'd better listen!!!
  20. Are you ranking your choices, or ranking the probability of the names out there getting the gig?
  21. I'm still pissed at the Pitinos for how they stole Johnson in the first place. If memory serves, Rick's top assistant left at Louisville. In a chat with his bratty son, little Richard suggested Kenny Johnson. ... For Richie -- a B1G coach -- to suggest that his dad poach from another B1G school's staff just reeked of tampering. ... Not sure how the NCAA would define tampering, but that sure seemed like it to me. Little Richie purposefully led to the weakening of a fellow conference school's coaching staff. Pretty sleazy stuff if you ask me.
  22. I'll say Wednesday between noon and 1 p.m. It will be a boy --- 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds.
  23. Since it's been almost two months, I'm starting to think we're not gonna replace Schilling and instead, use his salary for under-the-table payments to recruits! Why not? If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!!!
  24. As horrid as that song is, with the way the NFL has been trending over the past few years -- she'll be the Super Bowl halftime act in the next season or two!
