Romeo Langford - BCM Gravelines Dunkerque
LamarCheeks replied to Trish's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
I'm just glad he didn't sign with Bob Sugar -- dude is such a sleazeball. -
If he chooses to transfer, during his first on-campus visit to a prospective suitor, he will say "OK, the gym is nice. The facilities are nice. The locker room i nice. The campus is nice. ... Isn't it about time to bring the hookers and strippers?"

(2019) SG Lester Quinones to Memphis
LamarCheeks replied to ap2345's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Have you seen the Anthony Harris thread? ... That's devolved into a Archie vs. Holtmann thread. ... And here's the ironic thing about that: I truly feel had we not hired Archie, OSU would have. ... But I guess that thread's gotta be about something: Harris didn't pick us. -
I'm almost to the point where I suggest that about two hours after a player commits to another school, the mods permanently close the thread. The kid's going elsewhere -- let's wish him good luck and move on. There's no sense in beating Archie or ourselves or each other up over it. It's time to get past it.

Whoops! BTW, while you were sleeping, the Thunder-Blazers in the NBA and Sharks-Knights in the NHL were pretty amazing contests last night. Sharks scored four power-play goals during a five-minute major to go from 3-0 down to up 4-3. They then gave up a goal in the final minute to force OT. Crazy games.

I sorta figured that's where he would end up. His dad went there and played for Chaney. ... I wonder how Big Daddy 379 will react now if things don't go well. He could be kind of obnoxious this past season.

This might be true, but you've gotta start somewhere. Unless you have a bunch of one and dones, those freshmen eventually become sophomores. Then they become juniors ... Kyle Guy, Ty Jerome, De'Andre Hunter, Cassius Winston -- they were once freshmen. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
LamarCheeks replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm on a silly IU facebook fan page -- mostly for amusement purposes. Anyway, a fan (whom I don't know) posted a picture of himself and Justin. Said in his comments that Justin was a very respectful young man. But what got me curious was the cast on Justin's right hand/arm. ... He didn't punch someone, too, did he? LOL! (Seriously, anybody know what happened?) -

I'm all for players being able to declare for the draft, get evaluated and then return to school if they so desire. But I still think the whole process needs to be expedited. I'm guessing coaches have a pretty decent idea of who will return and who won't, but May 29 (this year's deadline for pulling out of the draft) seems awfully late to be juggling puzzle pieces and figuring out what your roster will look like going forward. -

So, I gather from Damezi's Instagram post that he isn't going anywhere. Can the same be said of Justin? ... It seemed like a few weeks ago, there were guesses that those two might join Jake and Clifton in the transfer portal, and that we might learn something after Little 5. But ... nothing. Are we sure both are staying put, or is that still in flux? ... Anybody know? If they're staying, that would leave us at 2 schollys open, correct? 5 players on the way out: Morgan, Fitzner (no more eligibility); Langford (NBA); Moore, Forrester (transferring) 3 players on the way in: Franklin, Jackson-Davis (freshmen), Brunk (transfer). In flux, but probably coming back: Green -

Just for fun, I went to read some of the Facebook Q&A that Al did yesterday. Here are some of his responses. ... Seems like a real good kid ... Glad we have him ... On what he likes about playing at IU ... Indiana Basketball What more could I like? It's an amazing place and I am super happy to be here. On how much he will miss Morgan ... Indiana Basketball If we had a scale from 1-10, 30. Love that guy. On how the offseason is going ... Indiana Basketball It's going great. I'm in the gym shooting 2-3 times a day. Lifting with Coach Clif 3-4 times a week. On what it's like to play for Archie ... Indiana Basketball It's hard nose. He keeps you accountable during practice and in the game. I really appreciate his coaching style. A teacher wanted advice for her students who wanted to play ball. Indiana Basketball You are a STUDENT athlete. You're a student first so make sure you take of your duties in the classroom so you can do anything on the court. -

I love seeing this, too. ... I know it shouldn't matter where a player is from, but I want Indiana kids to succeed at IU. ... In addition to hitting the weights, I hope he's in the gym, shooting 500 jumpers a day. I think he had a game or two early on where he was hitting, but after that, he couldn't throw the ball in the ocean ... I've seen high school highlights, and he seems as if he had a pretty nice stroke from distance; don't know where he lost his way as far as shooting ... With our lack of shooters, there's gotta be a chance for him to get more PT next year (especially if he improves on D as well). -
